My first time here, everything was absolutely amazing! The sushi was very flavorful.... complete unique experience. The environment was awesome and the service was 5 star! I will definitely be back! read more

I went to this place on a whim to get outside of my comfort zone as I had never been to a Japanese Steak House or Hibachi grill. I ordered the Tom Yum Shrimp Soup, it was very-good with a hint of heat. The Basil Filet main entree was amazing, tender and flavorful. All in all I had a great time and everything was perfect. read more

Kiku - Cocktail menu - Japanese Near Me - Middletown, Delaware

This restaurant was good. The food was a bit expensive. Sushi Yama is a better choice for sushi in my opinion.

Today I had lunch at KiKU. I ordered the combination dinner. Upon entering I was created by a friendly hostess. The wait staff was also helpful with menu options. Ordered a coke-was a flat so I ordered a sprite. Diner came with a salad option but not to my liking the dressing was on top of iceberg lettuce and the bottom of dish had a little water. Entree was very good well season. Will visit again. read more

Awesome experience! Been waiting to try it, but it's always packed. The decor is modern and fun. The chefs were engaging the table, and put on a great show. The waiters were attentive. The food was delicious. I got a combo dish of steak and scallops (with the fried rice, vegetables, and salad) for $22. Can't wait to go back! read more

I called Saturday April 2 to make a reservation for me and 7 family members to eat hibachi on my birthday. When we arrived at 6 they said they didn't even take reservations yet someone over the phone just 6 hours earlier (I called at 12) said they put me down in the reservations. So I had family drive an hour to come here because it's where I live and we couldn't even eat there because the wait was 3 hours. Mind you it was the day of my birthday and if you live in Middletown you know there isn't shit else to eat. They were so unprofessional and nobody help accountably for telling me I had a reservation over the phone yet not upholding that when we arrived. Side note we had to eat at California tacos across the street and it was GARBAGE my family is Spanish I'm white I was embarrassed af taking them to that bland ass taco place. read more

If you want great sushi this is a great place to go. I ordered the clear broth soup, seaweed salad, 5 salmon sushi and shrimp tempura sushi. It was all very delicious, but I must give two thumbs up on the salmon. It was so fresh it just melted in your mouth! Service was just as great. Kind of expensive even for one but I love tipping well when I get great food and service. Will be going back very soon. I would strongly recommend this for any size group! read more

Food is good, service sometimes is slow but it can get pretty busy in there. Have been numerous times and will continue to eat here.

So yummy. The dream team roll is amazing. Your choice of sitting in the hibachi area or regular dining. If you don't want the show of hibachi but still want actual hibachi food sit in regular dining and order a plate of hibachi food. But the sushi is delicious too. The geisha kiss martini is delicious too. read more

Service was a bit slow but we were in a rush so it was good. Don't expect a romantic quiet dinner because it's very loud inside. I ordered fillet hibachi dinner and it was a bit over cooked but still good. The salad is simply lettuce but the sushi was good. Nice size portions will give them a try again. read more

Awesome food and service, my kids love getting hibachi and being entertained by the chef. Sushi is fresh and delicious, I would compare to sushi Yama(I've heard they're owned by the same people?). read more

We are here for the 1st time on a Friday 1/12/18 after a massage at hand and stone next door. Got there at 5:15 (right before it got super busy) and sat at the bar. Our bartender Leslie was amazing! She's so attentive, just the epitome of a good bartender--friendly, attentive, and she was also training a new person. Drinks were great, sushi was great, we will definitely be back! read more

Kiku - Japanese Near Me - Middletown, Delaware

This chain store restaurant is bustling and fun. The service is satisfactory but when they are busy you must wait a long time for your food after ordering. The food was disappointing overall but their were some high points. It seems they do little fresh food and rely on frozen substitutes. They started out with instant Miso Soup and instant green tea.. The Miso flavor was barely recognizable. I had lShrimp Teriyaki that was crispy but bland with almost no taste of shrimp. However the Sea Bass was wonderful though served with soggy steamed veggies. The best prepared dish was the white rice. read more

Food prepared well, good flavor. Hibachi is pricey. Don't recommend the Sake shots from the squirt bottles (a little sloppy). Pricey almost same as NYC. So be prepared for a little "sticker" shock. Service is moderate to good. read more

I've been a Kiku customer since they opened and not only is it a great sushi & hibachi style restaurant, but one of the best restaurants in the state. I've never had a bad meal or experience here. I really like the look and feel of their upscale decor - pleasing to the eye, but very comfortable and familiar at the same time. Fitting, if you're used to going to high end restaurants in big cities or just want to have a casual meal with friends or family. The food and service are always great. I never have to wait long for a server to make their first appearance, and they check in appropriately throughout the meal. Never making you feel abandoned or continually interrupted. The food is always the highlight of my visits, and Kiku consistently receives high praise from me in this area. Always delicious, fresh, and presented in an attractive manner. Throughout my visits, I've had hibachi meals, sushi, appetizers, lunch specials and items from the dinner menu. Everything has been fantastic and I've always left satisfied. Prices are moderate and you definitely get value for your money. I'm very particular when I order sushi and I feel Kiku's quality is among the best I've had. Another great feature is their bar and bartender. While having a great selection of standard and unique drinks, their cocktails & martinis are all reasonably priced and delicious. One of my favorites is the Lychee Martini which is always flavorful and refreshing. I recently tried the Cucumber Martini and that also ranks high. Throughout the covid pandemic, Kiku has done a great job keeping customers and staff safe. From the take-out only station that was in place at the height of restrictions, to the current in person dining experience with separate entrance & exit, hand sanitizer station, masked staff and a QR code menu to alleviate handling of menus. Kiku is one of my favorites and I always look forward to my next visit. read more

Love this place. A tad over priced but cool vibe. I still love 'Sushi Yama' but this place is great to take clients to. Great food. Very fresh. Would recommend. read more

I have no idea how the food is. They "lost" our reservation and were not able to accommodate us nor any of the others in the same situation. The manager is totally clueless how to run a business. The manager even admitted he was wrong but said there was nothing he could do and then made no more eye contact with us. We walked out and will never go back. If you want a place to seat you on time and treat you right.... go elsewhere. read more

There is two sides to this restaurant. One side is to order off the menu. The other is a hibachi grill. We ate on the hibachi grill side. We ordered a amt. fuji cocktail for two. It came in a large bowl with a flaming volcano in the center. It was very good. My husband and I both got the sea scallops. They were delicious. The noodles and rice were also very good. The decor and atmosphere were great. They really did a great job with this restaurant. Middletown needed a place like this. We will definately be coming back. read more

Kiku - Mt. Fuji cocktail for two. - Japanese Near Me - Middletown, Delaware

Kiku is one of our favorites!! The rice is the best!! Huge portion sizes and good prices for the quality and size of the meal. Fun experience with the chef cooking in front of you. I like how they now have smaller grills that are separate so you are only sitting with your party while they cook. read more

HORRIBLE !! We had a reservation, but still had to wait for a long time. If they can't seat customers @ requested time, why even bother to take reservations !!?? And then, our server was horrible. We had to ask the manager to get our drinks sitting @ bar for a long time and Togo boxes as well as our bill. The only thing the server cared about was his tip. The food was Okay. Never go back. read more

Was there on Fri evening for a birthday celebration. If you go there be sure do dress warm. Should be Eskimo style. In a party of 8 no one removed their outer coat. Food ? who knows, just could not wait to leave soon as possible. Never again. read more

Called before 5pm for 630 pick up. The lady said it will definitely be ready by 630 as we order almost two hours ahead. We were there on time and food wasn't ready almost an hour later. It was cold and we had to wait outside. No apologies. Not bother to provide explanations either. Horrible attitude and poor customer service. Very disappointed and we can definitely spend money in other sushi restaurants . Never go back again!!!! read more

A year ago, Kiku exploded in Middletown with great flavor, service, and atmosphere. I raved about the food and told everyone to go there. Always busy and worth the wait. Tonight, I expected the crowd to be in full force as it has been on past Friday nights. Called ahead and made a reservation, and when we got there hardly anyone was waiting. Throughout the course of our meal I figured out why. Everything has gone down hill. Scallops I once raved about were a disappointment that you would have thought was a dish on a cooking show that the chef forgot to flavor. A little salt and pepper go a long way but need to be added prior to the end of cook time. Hoping that the flavor comes back, sad that we splurged for a mediocre meal. read more

My wife and I really enjoyed the food!! The atmosphere is nice and the cooks put on a great show.. we have been here twice ordering the shrimp and salmon combination!! I highly recommend having lunch or dinner either way you cant go wrong!! Oh and SAKE!!! read more

Just left a bit ago, dinner was great, went after a great time at extreme outdoors. The waitress was wonderful,on point. The hibachi was really good, sushi wasn't that great. Calamari wasn't as good to me. It's big like giant onion rings. Definitely will go back to get hibachi and sit where they fix it in front of us. We really weren't dressed properly but will be next time. read more

This was my second time visiting. The first time we sat and bad regular dinner. The sushi was great. The second time we did the hibachi and it was great as well. The food is excellent, and the hibachi chef was excellent. My only complaint is that the service is a little slow. That being said, the place was packed both times, so it's understandable for them to be a little backed up. Once they get all of the kinks worked out I don't see a reason why they can't be 5 stars. read more

Food was fresh and good!! Prices are very reasonable. There was a wait to be seated and our waiter was a little slow but to be expected with a new place. Will def be back! read more

Actually a Chinese buffet style Japanese food. Be careful with the bill, particular when you have a big party. They added items I never ordered. read more

Had dinner at Kiku last night and I have to say it was a breath of fresh air for the area. The service was great without being intrusive. The food was outstanding and portions were generous. The mixed drinks were good and well priced. The restaurant itself was impeccably decorated with comfortable banquettes and three massive hibachi tables with seating. The bar area, with its blue lighting, is reminiscent of South Beach. Overall it was a fantastic and engaging experience. read more

They just opened 1 week ago, and the place was packed at around 6:30. I ordered the "fried sweet potato roll" (which was basically just a sweet potato tempura roll) for takeout. It was really good for the price. Service is lacking right now, both over the phone and in person when I went to pick my food up. But I'll chalk that up to them just having opened and still learning the ropes. They're helping to fill the Japanese food void in Middletown (I'm not a big fan of Sushi Yama) with a great, decently priced sweet potato tempura roll at least! I'll definitely be back to dine-in and try other options on their menu. read more

Recently came here with my fiancé and we were super impressed. The closest hibachi to us was the one in Dover, but now that we've discovered Kiku, I don't think we will be going to Dover anymore. I got sushi and it was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend the broccoli roll. Clean restaurant, cool vibe, and great food! read more

We have been searching for a Japanese restaurant that tastes authentic and has a variety of options. Kiku delivered! The service was fast and friendly, very attentive as our drinks stayed completely full. The atmosphere is welcoming, but also very engaging. The bright lights at the bar are beautiful. This is our new favorite restaurant in the area! read more

This place is absolutely fantastic, the food was delicious and service was great and patient when I didn't know what I wanted. The crab Japanese cream cheese roll was awesome with the sauce it comes with, plus the many shrimp dinner. Also our dinner was set like it was an art project. And I got the coconut desert which was also very good. We did traditional dining and could still see the guys doing the hibachi show but next time I wouldn't definitely want to do the hibachi, it looks interesting and entertaining! read more

Wow! We stopped in for lunch and wow the food was delicious!!! We had filet and scallop hibachi and it was packed with flavor. Our lunch started with soup that was just yummy! The filet was so tender and cooked to perfection. I'm so glad we stumbled upon a new favorite. The service was exceptional and Kiku has a great atmosphere. We will definitely return! read more

Every time I eat there I throw up, but the food was good and so was the entertainment.

Best Japanese Steakhouse in Delaware!! This place is entertaining for children or adults young at heart!! The steakhouse food is excellent and their sushi is also delicious. You have the option of eating in their dining room area if you wish to not participate in their fun filled steakhouse experience. Pine Valley Staff has gone here on numerous occasions as a large group for different Birthdays! If you have not tried this place out it is worth the drive to Middletown! read more

Good food, but don't know why they are not allowing guests to eat in when other restaurants are.
