Kickin' Crab is a Viet-Cajun seafood joint in Carrollton's thriving Korean district that serves some of the best crawfish and garlic noodles in all of DFW. From late February - early June, you can experience amazingly fresh seafood boils that keep the place packed with a line out the door. If crawfish are in season, you must try them out. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - During crawfish season (and Lent) Kickin' Crab becomes very popular. This casual spot is open with plenty of tables, people, and staff. Come in shorts, bring a big appetite, and get ready to enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with like-minded, seafood loving patrons. 1 Star. Service - Be sure you check in on the iPad at the entrance. Once you put down your name and number (they use Yelp's reservation system), you can check your place in line, the wait time, and leave to explore the area (I always visit SomiSomi while waiting for my table). Once your table is ready, white butcher paper is placed on the table and the fast, friendly staff (always smiling and lightning fast) will be there to help you. 1 Star. Food - The crawfish are plump and flavorful. I love the Kickin' sauce. I use the twist and peal method. But I also want to highlight the garlic noodles and Cajun fries. The noodles are simple - just butter and garlic but are a fantastic side dish that is easily shared. The fries are perfectly seasoned, never greasy and pack a nice crispy outside and soft center. I love ordering a side of Kickin' Sauce to dip my fries, garlic noodles, and crawfish tails. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I love this area, and Kickin' Crab is a staple in my rotation during both crawfish and Lenten season. If there's a better place to get crawfish in DFW, let me know! Otherwise you'll find me here. 1 Star.

This place was absolutely packed on a Friday night. You can get on the waitlist on at the front of the restaurant and you can see your position in line through text. There won't be any estimated wait time but you can scroll to the top of the waitlist and see how long the next party has waited to get a good idea. We ended up waiting a little over an hour (got on waitlist for group of 4 at 6:30pm). I ordered the 1/2 snow crab 1/2 shrimp combo along with an extra 1lbs of crawfish kickin style medium spicy. It comes with 3 sausage, a potato, and corn as well. Garlic noodles are great, I recommend mixing them with your seafood boil sauce. This place has their system down! There is a quick turnaround from when a table finishes to when a table sits down and orders. We did not wait long for our food and everything came out extra hot. The crawfish was huge and the boil was delicious. I will definitely be back!

Second time here and it was just as delicious as the first time! Service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is fun and comfortable and has two large TVs on opposite walls. We got the shrimp combo special that has 3 lbs of shrimp, 2 corn, 2 potatoes, and sausage. We chose the kickin sauce with the spicy spice level. It was flavorful and spicy, but not the kind of spicy where you can't taste anything. Beers came out quick and waiter was friendly. The oysters were crazy large and fresh. So glad we found this seafood gem!

The location, food and service were all fantastic. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back!

Came here on a Monday, right when they opened and there was no line. We mainly came here for crawfish ($9.99/lb on March 2026) and also ended up getting some oysters and garlic noodles as well. The oysters were plump and fresh and the garlic noodles came in a big portion and were super garlicky, which we loved. We got the crawfish with the kickin seasoning, level spicy. It was delicious! The crawfish themselves were pretty big and came with a piece of corn for every 2 lbs. Staff was also very helpful and patient and the interior was spacious and clean. I would definitely come again when craving crawfish!

We came around 6pm. on a Thursday, and it wasn't too busy. It was much busier by the time we left, but there was still no wait. We enjoyed our seafood boil in the Kickin' sauce. The crawfish were still on the smaller/medium side at the end of January and were priced at $10.99/lb during this time. The shrimp were large but unfortunately very overcooked in both of our bags. Service was good.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the flavors were excellent. Every dish was well-prepared and full of taste. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal.

2 of us finished 5 pounds of King Crab!

It's pricey, but we come here for King Crab at least once a year for special occasions. Service is great. Best crab in DFW. But be prepared to wait! We had a 90 minute wait for 2 people on a Friday night.

We've come multiple times, never disappoints. Great pricing, the wait line goes by so fast. The food is great full of flavors. Ambiance always feels like a party lol. Whoever has the music playing it's fire.

Looking good. Tasted good. Service good. Ambience good. Crawfish good. Restroom good.

We came on a Friday night, joined waitlist at 7pm and got seated at 8:15pm. Given how busy the place was, the wait wasn't too bad at all! Our helpful server Hannah made some wonderful recommendations since it was our first timeat Kickin' Crab. We ended up ordering 3 lbs of crawfish, 1 lb of clams, and the "DUNGENESS CRAB SPECIAL" which includes 2 clusters of Dungeness crab legs, 1 corn, 1 potato, and 3 pieces of sausages. We chose the Kickin' Style sauce and... wow! Everything was delicious but the sauce was what stood out most. It was garlicky, savory, rich and creamy. My mouth is watering as I write. I can't wait to go back!

The lobster tail was a bit tough and overcooked, which is a waste. Mussels were good too. Garlic noodles were not our favorite. Corn and potatoes are good, but they're a bit stingy about it only giving you one of each. When your seafood boil is $70+, you should get more than one of each. The flavors linger in your mouth for a bit. It lingered for almost 2 days for me, but would definitely return!

Unfortunately, the service was questionable. Our server had difficulty communicating in English, which led to a costly misunderstanding. When we ordered crab, she never asked what type of crab we wanted and instead assumed king crab, which is significantly more expensive than other options. As a result, our bill was much higher than expected. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill without it being mentioned to us beforehand. While restaurants may choose to add gratuity in certain situations, customers should be clearly informed so there are no surprises. My advice: enjoy the food, but be very specific when ordering. Confirm exactly what type of crab you're getting, verify the pricing, and check your bill carefully. Also remember that gratuity should be clearly communicated and not assumed. Better communication would have made this a much better overall experience.I'd rate it 2.5 out of 5 stars. Great food, but the service and communication issues took away from the experience.

A lady from behind the counter finally noticed us and directed us to sit at a certain table. Menu is on the table so she came by to take out order. There's not very many pictures to reference the size. The chef's choice sashimi platter range from $39.99 to $119.99. I had to pull up Yelp photos and with the help of the server, we ordered the medium platter for $59.99. As we waited, we were given a plate containing edamame and what appears to be fried pieces of fish skin. It was unexpected and tasty. The sashimi platter was fresh and contained a nice variety of fish and other seafood. I was surprised to see octopus and clams. It was served on a bed of radish, which I love, with sliced jalapeños and garlic on the side. There's no question the seafood is fresh here. They have tanks in the front containing lobsters in the front. The tanks are clean and there's no funky odors. This place is very traditional. Service was adequate. They have a self serve station where you can get your own water from a water cooler and additional silverware, sauce cups, and napkins. Took my niece here for a birthday dinner of her choice. It's right by Paris Baguette and she's always been intrigued by it. She thought it was just ok. Overall, I think it's a nice place to get fresh seafood but it's not a place I see myself coming back to.

Seasoning had real Louisiana style flavor, not too salty and just really good all around. Even the spicy is not actually that spicy, but it still has a lot of flavor. I quickly did a scan to find the most far away spot from the noise in their patio area that is actually indoor. The AC was nice but the silence wasn't muffled for long as the ladies cleaning the tables walked in and left the doors wide open. I ordered a frozen Paloma. They just poured it in a cup- no rim. The Paloma was okay. It tasted a little strong but I guess that is personal preference. The food didn't take long to arrive. One by one. I ordered the shrimp boil spicy with corn and sausage and some grilled oysters. The shrimp boil was very oily. It looked like it was seasoned bud didn't deliver in heat. The shrimp were overcooked. The shrimp will tell you a lot about the quality of the food. They were large but too chewy. The grilled oysters were okay. Nothing stood out in terms of flavor. I tried the steak fries they are cooked well and unseasoned accompanied by a tartar sauce but the tartar sauce was too thin and was too acidic.
