We've been coming to Kick Back Jack since the first BC Cafe opened in Claremont back in the '90s. This was our first visit in many years as we had moved from the area 15 years ago. We made a point of stopping in as we were travelling through Rancho Cucamonga, but traffic was conspiring against us and we ended up arriving just a few minutes before the closing time of 3:00. The front door was still open but as soon as we walked in we could tell that the restaurant was entering full close down mode. The last customers were leaving and the staff was starting to clean. The girl who met us at the front counter said she thought the kitchen might be closed by that time. But a minute later we were informed that the kitchen could still make our meal and our server sat us down and started us off with an order of potato chips and salsa. Although we now felt like the ones who might be imposing on the staff, we were told to take our time, no rush, and order whatever we wanted. Our orders turned out to be fairly complicated but our server helped us with the menu and had a great attitude. The food, as usual, was excellent. As we were finishing our meal, the manager came over to us and we had a nice conversation about the restaurant and our time living in the area. Everyone at Kick Back Jack went above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate us and make us feel welcome despite our late arrival. We can't wait to return (at an earlier time, of course!) and spend a more relaxed afternoon at this great establishment. read more

Huge portions, fluffy pancakes w/ an ice cream scoop size butter on top. What more can you ask for? :p the service was friendly and fast. Coffee never empty. It wasn't busy so we may have just got lucky the time we went because I hear they do get slammed at times. I will def go back. read more

Came here for the first time and it was ok. Kind of a Denny's type diner. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it came with soup. I chose creamy chicken and it was better than I expected it to be. Portions were pretty satisfying and prices were average.Overall the food was good nothing spectacular. The appearance was different, had a Chili's or Applebee's vibe but not as nice. Waitress and staff was really friendly. May bring my family back if in the area. read more

I stopped here during a business meeting in the area. I decided to order a sandwich which I thought was really dry (only had chicken, cheese and mushrooms). However, the waffle I ordered was amazing! It looks like it's a busy area so the wait to get our food was a little longer than usual. Other than that the service was really good. read more

Our server was Crystal, although we didn't know her name from an introduction, she wrote it down on our receipt... it was busy at 10 AM. A different lady checked in with us to take our drink order. Then Crystal came by and asked if we were ready to take our order. We ordered the ABC Omelette, Breakfast Special Corned Beef Hash, Bacon & Eggs, and a Kids KickBackJack. It was a lot of food, a lot of potatoes. The kids menu was enough for two people. Unless you overeat but two kids can share this kids menu. See my photos. The service was quick! They whip the food up quickly and they taste great. My meal was the Corned Beef Hash---the beef was salty so I had to tone it down with some ketchup. They have all sorts of hot sauce available at your table. An assortment of Jelly and coffee creamers/sugars for your toast and coffee. It's about 30 minutes from the base of the mountains. They have restrooms located immediately right of the restaurant entrance. And immediately to the right is a banquet area for events. But the restaurant itself is significantly large. The servers and busboys were attentive to our coffees being refilled. The kids orange juice were in small cups and with caps that has an intent for straws but with the law, you have to ask for the straws. It had pulp and tasted fresh, unless it's one of the store bought OJ with Pulp. read more

This is not my first time here and I don't come very often but this has been the worst experience of all. Arrived at 10:30am. Told a 35 minute wait but was actually an hour wait because they skipped our name. Then our party sat waiting another 30 minutes, no service, no order placed, no acknowledgement. Different servers walked past several times. It was as though we we're invisible. After literally flagging down a server, our order was taken a little after 12noon. Sad part ... None of the servers had name badges. If I could, I would name the servers who ignored us. I would also name anyone who was HELPFUL. Maybe there aren't name badges for a reason...plausible deniability! To them that shall be nameless, we will not be back! read more

Was a bit busy on Saturday at 1:00 but the wait was well worth it. Had Denver omelette which was spot on, large pieces of ham, peppers, onions. Wife had pancakes, eggs and corned beef hash. She really enjoyed the pancakes, the corned beef hash was ok but just like the canned brand. Service was great, always come here when visiting. read more

They got our order wrong. We both order our sandwiches w/o bacon. Both came with bacon. We sent them back. As I was eating I see a small piece of bacon on my sandwich. I DO NOT EAT PORK. What the cook did was remove the bacon and sent it back out. They better be glad my request for no bacon was not due to health issues. Later that night my niece was eating her sandwich, guess what she found.... bacon. Again, the cook had simply "attempted" to take the bacon off instead of making new sandwiches. read more

This place is delicious! Service is fast and their menu has so many unique options. I've tried different things both times I've been there and it was all soooo good! Stopped by Kick Back Jack for a quick breakfast pitstop before hitting Palm Springs and it did not disappoint. Everyone's service was impeccable and although our food did take a little bit of time to come out it was well worth it. Portions are very generous and worth your money. We've been to this location for breakfast many times, Claremont once. I always get the same thing Raspberry-Stuffed Belgian Waffles, my youngest gets either the same or Raspberry-Stuffed FlapJacks, my oldest gets a burger or Bacon and Eggs, and my husband gets some combo with pancakes. Pancakes are huge and nearly always shared. I don't share my waffles, it's always perfectly cooked with a blintz-like cheese and whipped cream and powdered sugar. They also bring butter and syrup, which I skip. Reliable, reasonable, noisy, good to excellent service, what more can you ask for? read more

Came here with a friend for breakfast, it's pretty basic in its menu but not bad. I had the breakfast sandwich and my friend had the omelette, both were decent but nothing unique or memorable. Everything about Kick Back Jacks screams excessiveness from the menu options, almost too many to choose from, to the enormous portion sizes. They offer so much for a reasonable price, most meals ran about $12. I had the Bahama Mama Skillet which is made with diced chicken apple sausage, grilled onions, fire grilled corn, red peppers, mushrooms and Baja Chipotle sauce, served with home fries topped with 2 eggs any style, Jack and Cheddar cheese and avocado. It was a massive meal! The chipotle sauce was amazing, tangy with a bit of spice but super creamy. They also gave a sizeable portion of diced chicken apple sausage, every bite consisted of at least 4 chucks. So... Pros: Ample parking Friendly service Loads of choices Great Price Cons: You can avoid the pancakes. If you get the skillets or omelets you have a choice between Corn Bread, Choice of Toast, Country Biscuit, or Freshly Baked Muffin, Country Potatoes or a Pancake. I would suggest going with the potatoes or the pastries. The blueberry muffins are so moist and warm, it's a perfect way to start a meal and not so big that it distracts you from the rest of the meal. We tried the pancake and it wasn't worth the calories. It's huge and didn't really taste like anything, wasn't sweet, didn't have a hint of buttermilk, just big and doughy. read more

the waitress literally handed us our food and never checked up on us. we sat there wanting to ask for a drink refill for over 15 mins but she never came around. this was a great first impression, and i prob won't be back. we honestly thought about just walking out- it's not they would have noticed until we drove away. I don't know about this place. The food is average, reminds me of a larger more expensive Denny's. My first time here was a very dissappointing experience. We decided to try the Dirty Donuts that were advertised on the menu only to be told they had been discontinued. Why are they still listed on the front page of the menu and advertised on the employee uniform shirts? So, we decided to try the cinnamon pecan roll instead. After placing our order, the server returned a few minutes later to inform us that no cinnamon rolls were baked today. Not a promising start. I ordered sausage and eggs for my breakfast and the sausage was pretty poor - not flavorful at all. My wife ordered the Bahama Mama Skillet. Each component tasted OK by itself but the ingredients together just didn't work for us. There must be some better items on the menu worth trying but based on our experience this morning, I doubt we will return. read more

I came here for breakfast with my mom and sister since my sister said this place is great. I disagree. Their portions are HUGE! But the quality of the food is just eh. I got a caramel pecan waffle with maple syrup and a side of bacon. The bacon was dry and gross. The waffle was a little too rich for my taste. My mom and my sister got a skillet plate which comes with your choice of a fresh muffin, either banana nut, blueberry, and a few other kinds that I can't recall or a pancake I think. She got a peach pancake that was almost as big as a plate. The portions are enough for two or three hungry people. Nothing here was good aside from the coffee and the muffin. I had a piece and it was delicious! Also, their O.J is NOT freshly squeezed like it says on the menu. It's obvious that it's from concentrate. The service was good, but I don't think I'll ever come back here for anything other than their muffins. read more

Had the pancakes they were delicious, bacon was fried way too hard as it was all curled up. Home Fries are always good. My waitress appeared to be very sad, but nice and polite. This is the second time I've dined here on a Sunday and my waitress was melancholy‍. Oh they let us wait for our table in the banquet room and have free coffee while we wait for our name to be called. Truly awsome as it was very cold outside. read more

300+ reviews... 4 stars? Well earned I say! Stopped in here on a weekday morning. They are just down he street from the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court... and before you wonder or ask, I had jury duty, not a summons! My jury group was diverted to an afternoon call back, so rather than head home, I needed a place to chill and grab a bite. Following the recommendation of Yelp, I chose KBJ... Needless to say, I chose wisely! Pros: 1. Free wifi (so I get to write this post) 2. Huge selection of options for breakfast 3. Equally huge portions! 4. Very attentive staff. 5 Helpful and friendly service (Thanks Crystal!) Cons: 1. Bring your appetite! The portions are huge! 2. I'll add more as I think of them (if I can think of any)... Was seated quickly and given a choice of booth, counter, or table... Pretty much as soon as I sat down, my server (Crystal) came by and asked what I would like to drink, then brought me my coffee as well as a glass of water. Since this was my first time here, I took my time looking through the menu. As mentioned above, there are a TON of selections and though many of the menu items do specify no substitutions, there are variations that can be done as long as you ask! I finally narrowed it down to pork chops or chilaquiles. Upon recommendation of Crystal, I went with the Pork Chops. And then when I couldn't decide on how I wanted my chops (grilled vs fried) offered to go 1&1. So that was the route I chose. Assessment: Grilled chop - moist and grilled to perfection Fried chop - very flavorful, a nice crust and crunch, a little drier than grilled but still equally delicious. I am still torn as to which I liked more. the rest of my meal, two eggs over easy of course, and hash browns instead of the home fries. If you like crispy hash browns, then ask for them well done, you will not be disappointed. Put my eggs over the hash browns before breaking the yolk, add a dash or two of Tapatio sauce... Ahhh perfection! (Chohlula, tabasco both traditional and green, and ketchup are also available at each table already as well). Coffee, black and hot and plenty of it. My cup was never empty and the staff was by regularly to check to see if I needed a warm-up. And for those that like flavored creamers... yep, you will not be disappointed! Amaretto, Hazelnut, Irish Creme, Vanilla as well as plain are all at each table too! One more thing that I need to mention (because this is the first place I have seen do it) is that they have single serving peanut butter in the jelly baskets. That is a nice touch! So in conclusion: Yes, I highly recommend this place, I wish that they had a location closer to where I lived. The four stars they have as their average rating is well deserved. I give them 5 stars! Would I come back? for sure, whenever I'm in the area and in the mood for breakfast. read more

Kickback Jack's - Pork chops! One fried, one grilled, why choose when you can try both - American Near Me - Rancho Cucamonga, California

This is totally the local spot for breakfast & lunch. The menu is ridiculous. I'm glad they don't list the calories next to each item because I DONT WANT TO KNOW. Cookies n cream jacks, super stuffed french toast, and 5 egg frittatas just to name a few of their sinful but appetizing dishes. The prices run in the middle. Not too cheap, not too expensive. But the portions- WOW- Huge! Always good service, but you usually have to wait for a table. Last time I went they had a whole waiting room with free coffee. Thought that was pretty cool. read more

Stopped for breakfast on the way back to the airport, hearing about the great pancakes, but no one mentioned the F(*#%&%! COUNTRY FRIED BACON. That's right. Country fried bacon. As in battered, deep fried, crispy...BACON. My heart would pound at the mention of it, if leftovers weren't clogging my arteries. They serve this country fried bacon, believe it or not, with biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and eggs--plus an extra cup of gravy to DIP THE BACON IN. Personally, I liked their cornbread good and their veggie skillet just ok--but the bacon gets the real spotlight here. Besides the flapjacks, this is the place to take the bacon lover in your life. read more

I pass by this place everyday and I have noticed the good reviews and wanted to give it a try. I have decided to make this review shorter because my battery is going to die. Food: Eggs Benedict: the eggs Benedict was actually pretty good. I liked the flavor of the ham and the sauce was not too overwhelming. I ordered home fries for my side and that lacked vision. It was just potatoes with....well...thats it. Not really seasoned and kinda burnt on some bites. I think good sides are super important because it brings the plate together and while not everyone is going to order the same main dish, many will order home fries on the side. Pet peeve: the coffee comes in a glass mug. I didn't like drinking coffee out of a glass mug. Haha its like the difference between drinking coke from a styrofoam cup as opposed to a can. Its just different. (I know some of you will feel me on this) Coffee was good though! Edit****: So I was contacted to give this place another try by a customer service rep and so I did. Service was actually much better this time (which I didn't even mention in my original review). I got a vegetable skillet and my gf got the omelette version. This time the home fries were much better. Nothing burnt. A new girl was assisting our main server and they were both super nice and attentive. I still say its a little pricey, but nothing that omelette get to me ;) Good job on the redemption and sorry I doubted you lol read more

BIG portions. so hubby and i shared the roasted turkey sandwich on squaw bread with tomatoes, avocados, and brussel sprouts. had home fries as our side along with a pickle. MIL ordered some type of scramble that wasn't very good. the diced chicken in it were on the dry side. the super waffle was enjoyed by auntie. you get a choice of strawberry or banana. pancakes are fluffy and GINORMOUS!! 4 stack of pancakes came with the 2 eggs, 2 bacon entree. lil' cousin ordered the philadelphia cheesesteak. it was funny watching her meticulous remove the cheese but not the grilled onions. she ate half of the sandwich since it was a big portion too. if you are in the area with a HUGE appetite...especially for flapjacks, go right in. you definitely won't leave hungry!!! 3.5 stars read more

The food is absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend this place. I had it delivered and it was fantastic!!

Great food, huge food, BUT when our daughter was still a baby, a waitress spilled hot tea water on her. Accidents happen, but no one helped my husband, no one brought over a first aid kit or offered to call anyone, a manager never came over and they had the nerve to hand my husband a bill after that!! Unbelievable, horrible customer service. I called for weeks to speak with a manager (they didn't return my calls and they didn't even know why I was calling!) and when I finally did they sent me their insurance companies number, but STILL never apologized and never did anything to try to keep us as customers. I will never go there again. read more

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and this place does it right. To top-off our tour of the Inland Empire before returning to San Jose, thanks to Yelpers, we found this great restaurant. It was a really good sign when we drove-up at around 9:30/10 that the parking lot was already packed full of cars, so obviously this was a good place to check-out. There was a short wait of about 15-20 minutes before we were seated at our table. They apparently also had counter seating that was first-come, first-served also available. We took advantage of the room to the right of the hostess counter which had small cups of coffee for folks that had to wait. While we were waiting, we noticed that they had their mascot--a rabbit--wandering through the dining room. A little scary since an adult dressed as a rabbit roaming through a restaurant may scare small children--me included. Once we were seated, our waitress was quick to bring out coffee and give us some time to look over the menu. The menu is extensive, so be prepared to take your time to take it all in. This place has probably one of the most extensive breakfast menus that I have seen and it's great. Portion-size seems to be of the utmost importance with omelets consisting of four eggs, and the frittatas containing five, count 'em, FIVE eggs. Good Lord. After some major debate, I ended-up ordering the huevos rancheros which came out on a little skillet with beans, rice, tortillas, and over medium eggs with a great sauce. They were AWESOME. The other half got chicken strips (that were marinated, tempura battered and fried) and a waffle. OMG. I not only finished mine, but finished off the leftovers of the waffle and chicken strips! The waffle was slightly sweet, fluffy, and even better with a little butter and syrup. While I could feel my arteries clogging from finishing off one and half breakfasts, I can say without too much reservations, that this was probably the best meal of our stay in the Inland Empire. Service at this place was awesome and there were people that floated through to make sure coffee cups were never empty, and waters were always refilled. Folks of the IE, you guys got a true gem on your hands! Prices were competitive with other breakfast places that we've been to in the past, so for the sheer value and portion-size, I dub thee BC Cafe as one of the best breakfast places I've been to! read more
