I was really excited to try this place out, sadly I was deeply disappointed. I had the Ham & eggs with beans, wheat toast with extra butter(there wasn't extra butter), and a Waffle with extra butter and coffee. Why I was sadly disappointed: wheat toast was burned and somewhat dry, beans were HORRIBLE, tasted like canned beans, Waffle was burned, coffee also tasted burned. Waitress was nice, but had to look for her( could be she was servicing multiple areas so I will give her a 4 out of 5. She did offer me a different toast and did get me a new Waffle. I still think they should of discounted the meal but that's ok. For the price and the issues with the food, 1 out of 5 when I went up to pay, I wasn't even asked how was it. We were just passing through after staying nearby for the SOAD + Incubus concert at Glen Helen. Found this place on yelp and was not disappointed at all! We were told it was going to be a 15 minute wait, which was longer than we wanted... BUT they have a waiting room with free coffee. AND we only ended up waiting about 5 minutes total. Once seated, the wait staff was amazing, making sure we had both coffee and water. The food was a little pricey from what I'm used to, but they have so many options and give you huge servings so it's well worth the price. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak, and boy do I wish I would have gotten that instead. Thankfully he shared (it was to die for). I had bacon and eggs with pancakes. The pancakes stole the show - gigantic and delicious. All in all, great find with delicious food. If you're thinking of stopping in, please do! You won't regret it. I love discovering great brunch places and Kick Back Jack definitely falls on my list! The hot links omelette is delicious. There are huge chunks of hot links. The bahama mama omelette is good and comes with an amazing Chipotle sauce. I always opt for a side dish of 3 flapjacks and they are humungous! The flapjacks were absolutely delicious. The syrup that accompanies them is just perfection. The chilaquiles consists of fried tortilla topped with tomato salsa, with sides of spanish rice, beans and scrambled eggs. It was a hearty and delicious meal. The house's coffee was also very delicious here. I could not get enough of those refills! The peach iced tea is house-made and very refreshing. Service was okay. I've been here many times over the years. I can definitely say I'll never be back. Ordered the same chicken tenders & waffles I've ordered every time I came. I'll admit it had been years since I stopped here since I no longer live in the area. This is the pic I took of my dish. Genuinely disappointed. These are not chicken tenders. These are some sort of chicken patty. For $17.99 plus tax this is not acceptable. And they no longer offer the Bavarian cream on the side like they use to. I will be back for days like cheat days but don't see myself being a regular. But as the 3 stars represent, A-OK! The service was attentive enough but the food? I got a club sandwich which was good sized but stuffed with substandard fillings. Also they charged $3.80 for a cup of coffee -- not user friendly. The place is already making enough money from regular business why do they need to rip you off with drinks? I'm afraid that the mantra of hustle permeates the entire food industry resulting in substandard food (smothered with gobs of cheese and dubious sauces) being passed to the customer. Food tastes pretty good, portion sizes are pretty big, and FOH staff is friendly but I was really disappointed when I tried to order a plain crepe and the sever said oh no we don't do that here. I usually can't eat all the stuff that comes on the crepes like the powder sugar, nutella, fruit and or whip cream. A lot of restaurants sell crepes plain and I wish kickback jacks would've been able to accommodate to me ordering a plain crepe. We went here a month ago on a Sunday and it was easy to be seated but we went really early maybe at like 8 am. It seemed to be quite busy when we were leaving. They should change the name on the Meat Lovers skillet to potato lovers skillet. The taste of the actual sausage, ham, and bacon in my skillet was great. But I just got so little of it that it kinda bummed me out. Prices are a little on the high side but not by a whole lot. Just expect to pay $2-$3 more then what you would normally pay at any other place you go in for breakfast. The service I will say was really good. Waiter was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. I got my food really quick too so that is always a plus. The Blueberry muffin I got was super delicious. I've lived in Rancho for over 30 years and have frequented this place a lot! I got my order from door dash today and my eggs where spoiled. I know a rotten egg when I taste one. I called the restaurant to let them know and the person who answered the phone offered for me to come back and get more eggs, lol. I told her why would I get more eggs if their spoiled? It wasn't the difference between scrambled and over easy, the egg is spoiled! She said, "they prepare them everyday" still not getting what I'm saying! The eggs they prepared are spoiled!!!!!! We walked in and we're served right away, absolutely no wait! ... on a Saturday at noon. Food is okay, we got the banana mama skillet and fríen have toast, it was a ton of food. The food is basically like an i hop or Denny's, but more expensive. Coffee isn't good. The restaurant theme has a rabbit everywhere, I'm going to assume he's Jack. It seems mostly like a family restarting, much like an I hop but with a theme. Service was pretty poor. Staff isn't rude, but also not friendly or attentive. They seemed pretty checked out and would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. When I got my coffee there was no creamer at my table and couldn't find anyone around to ask for some so we went to another empty table to pirate a few creamers. After we finished our food we waited probably 15+ minutes for our waitress to bring the check. The restaurant was pretty empty so idk why we were left alone so long. Overall this spot is a great breakfast location, not much of a wait because their dining room has a lot of tables. My only reason behind the 4 star review is because the coffee is not good. I heard and seen the hype. Now, I went and experienced it first hand. First impression, staff was very friendly and welcoming. As we came upon our booth, it was a bit dirty. No biggie, they cleaned the table top again and brushed off all the crumbs. Lol brushed with their hand. But who cares right? It's about the food that really matters. Hmm. Lots of breakfast items and lunch. The waitress was just super. Checked up on us from time to time. There wasn't a time where I had to save my hand to get their attention. Excellent. I ordered the French toast. Absolutely delicious. Caramel with pecan was sweet enough so I didn't even use the syrup. It was literally a piece of sourdough dipped lightly in batter and cinnamon. It's more toast lol but it was still good. Then I ordered the Huervo Ranchero with carnitas. Pork was very tender and overall very very filling. The tortillas were a bit crispy however. My wife had the fried steak skillet. That's where it did me in. It did not taste good at all. I had the runs afterwards. Didn't know if it was any one of the food item above or just the skillet but the skillet tasted off. The meat was the worst tasting country fried steak ive ever had. The gravy was like eating plastic. I could not bear it. But again, service and waitress are just super nice and I didn't want I make a big deal there. So we paid, and left. I would've given them a much lower rating, but some of their food were pretty good and they do have friendly staff members. Plus the customers were pretty down to earth.
