Our first experience was warm welcomed with great customer service from our server, Teresa. After we asked to sit away from the kitchen, Teresa took her time explaining that all the booths near the window were recently filled, but she would make us aware if one should become available. Teresa also described the very lengthy breakfast menu. Thanks Teresa!!! The portions were enormous. I had the Bahama mama omelette in a skillet and mm mm good plate size banana pancakes. Now there's the pros and then there's the con's. While awaiting our order I noticed a young man in plain clothes spraying the carpet in the adjoining dining room. Well wwjd..?????? was my first thought. And although my sense of smell is pretty weak, it only took a matter of minutes before the carpet cleaning solution was strong enough to smell while I was eating!!!! Came for breakfast for the first time....great selection of breakfast...love that every table has every hot sauce you could ever need along with every coffee creamer you can want. Staff was great, every time you turn around there's a staff member willing to help you with anything. Yolanda our server was very kind and polite. This place is great for Breakfast. I eat here every time I hit my friends out in Upland. It never fails. The veggie skillet is D'licous, and so big, I have managed to funnel the food right into my stomach though. It comes with 3 eggs any style, with countreee eee fried potatos and a mix of veggies and half a slice of sliced avocado on top. All skillets are heavy and savory whether it's meat, or not. Wallfles, and Blue berry Bannana pankcakes are splendid. 2 pankcakes will do!! Even the oatmeal is great. Light breakfast of a big boal of oatmeal with sides of fresh fruits nuts, and brown sugar. Have not had the sandwiches and other foods, so I give 5 stars to the breakfast. I dunno about the drive from La there, but this place is worth it. read more

Took the kids for breakfast and had not been there in quite awhile. Huge...and ya I mean HUGE portions and good food... Not that any normal person could even finish half of it. The server didn't bring the eggs that came with what I ordered so when I asked her about them she said "oh you wanted the one that comes with that?" No duh. The reason for a missing star is because their home style fries can be hit or miss when you get a skillet. More often than not they are usually not cooked enough. We read great reviews about wings here, so we thought we would try them. The wait staff didn't know answers to what we thought were simple questions, like 'Where are wings listed on your menu?" We finally figured out that there is only an appetizer plate of wings, and there is only one sauce - Hot. Needless to say, we were already seated with drinks when we figured out that there was nothing about this establishment that had anything to do with wings. We actually thought we had received a breakfast menu by mistake. Most of the items are breakfast, and the rest are some sort of sandwich, rounded out with a couple of entree salads. Maybe if we had ordered one of the main fare we would have been more pleased - not sure. I heard that they are great for breakfast, but they miss the mark if you are looking for wings. :-( read more

My husband and I had today (Monday) off and decided to go out for breakfast/ brunch. He didn't tell me where - just that it was a surprise. Drove a half hour to this location and arrived about 10:50 am. It's got great reviews and we were excited to try it out. When we walked in I really liked the decor - it was really open and airy with nice tall ceilings and lots of natural light. The only other good thing I can say is that we got our drinks quickly. The hostess didn't smile or offer any real greeting besides confirming the number in our party. She quickly walked to our table and we had to hurry to catch up. The waitress at least smiled and brought the drinks, but then must have forgotten us. After sitting for about 20 minutes and seeing severs walk right past us and taking orders of the tables around us (who arrived after we did) we decided to leave. We left a few dollars on the table for the drinks and walked to the hostess stand. Tried to get their attention but they were too preoccupied so we just walked out. By this time it was 11:30. My first time at Kickback Jack's in Wilmington was a success. My friend (also a first timer) went to watch the game and grab a quick bite to eat for the first half. We sat at the sidebar and we're greeted by the bartender, Noel, whose smile was only outdone by her personable and prompt hospitality. It was the best bar service I've had in a LONG time. Our food came out quickly and correct, despite modifications and a last second change of order. We never went thirsty and never felt unattended to, even though she was busy and had a lot of patrons to tend to. She provided such a pleasurable experience that we decided to stay the entire game. The support staff and other employees were super friendly and courteous, which is a sign of a properly managed restaurant. Great job guys! The only problem was that I don't live closer by. My friend and I had lunch here on dec 21. We both had the chili with cornbread. And there was salsa with chips at our table. We ate all our chili, had some salsa too. That night we both were cramping and sick all night. I missed work. My friend called the manager to complain, and let them know about the chili or maybe it was the salsa. But we got food poisoning. Ok 3rd meal in a row here that was less than stellar. We came here for a quick lunch today. First off they served us potato chips with salsa. The salsa looked like it has been sitting around for a while and honestly who serves fried potato chips with salsa?!? Then my club salad came out with burnt bacon and a French fry in the middle of it. Wtf. My hard boiled egg was grey around the entire yolk like it had been left to cook for way too long. All in all my food was pretty yuck. My boyfriend ordered a chicken salad and it came out covered in BBQ sauce with no ranch at all on the salad. He didn't eat his food at all. We decided just to leave and never come back again. The waitress noticed we didn't eat a lot of our food and asked us what was wrong. At this point we were both needing to get back to work. The manager finally comes out and tells us she wants to remake our food but we are kind of over it. Go to pay and I have a $24 Groupon and our lunch was only $21. The manager asks me if we want a muffin so we can use the rest of our groupon and apologizes our experience. We go to pay and they tried to charge us $2.00 for a muffin we didn't want in the first place. At this point I am extremely frustrated and we leave without the muffin. The only thing that made this not completely horrible experience was the waitress. She was very nice and felt bad. Over rated..I had ordered the ham and eggs plate with toast and hashbrowns. The ham wasn't juicy and the eggs were overcooked. My hashbrowns actually had a hair! Not mine because its as short as a mans beard longer then an eyelash. The pancakes were overly drenched with strawberry topping and they forgot the rest of our order (eggs sausage bacon). WARNING: Come hungry!! It was our lucky break to have a relative who happens to live in this area. We loved the food so much we managed 2 breakfast visits out of the 5 days of our stay. I'm not a fan of egg breakfasts so I feel that I really lost out on MUCH of their menu. Fortunately they did have a decent assortment of pancakes, French Toast and waffles to choose from. The range of tabletop breakfast condiments was impressive (multiple flavors of coffee creamers as well as jellies, jams AND peanut butter!!) One morning I had the Energy Breakfast Waffle (topped with yogurt, granola, raisins, almonds and strawberries) and the other morning I had their Super Jacks (1 peach and 1 blueberry). If you're a coffee drinker, be prepared to be treated like ROYALTY (your cup will never be empty). I opted for the hot chocolate (it came with plenty of whipped cream AND a cookie!). NOTE: I tried to locate their menu online after I got home to NJ, but the website for Kickback Jack's on YELP is a dead link. If you put Kickback Jack's into any search engine, it points you to a different range of locations (North Carolina and Virginia) which does NOT serve breakfast.
