Best pad Thai I've had in a long time! The restaurant is really hidden away in some trees and it's beautiful from the outside, but they are just doing to go orders right now. You can text your order in and it's recommended to order a few hours in advance. John came outside to bring us our food when it was ready and he was so nice! The pad Thai had so many delicious and fresh veggies like cauliflower, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, and more. Great ratio of peanuts, lime and bean sprouts. I ordered medium spice and it was a perfect little kick. Also the portions are absolutely gargantuan! I had a giant bowl of pad Thai and it looks like I'll be having servings like that for dinner for many nights to come.

Belmont is home to some wonderful traditions - the little yellow shop at SE 20th that deals in car batteries, the amazing Movie Madness, and, if you can find it behind the vines, Khun Pic's. The food and the experience are well worth the search and the leisurely pace that makes dining here an experience. I was not able to confirm this, but I firmly believe that my sources were reliable when I heard that the chef at Khun Pic's and the chef at Lemongrass are sisters, and that their parents ran Bangkok Kitchen that used to be at 25th and Belmont. Whether this is true or not, Lemongrass and Khun Pic's have a lot in common - located in old houses, basically 2 person operations, and phenomenal food. We recently made our first Covid era visit, and the menu seemed somewhat pared down from what I recall, but there was no trouble finding more tempting things listed than we could have possibly eaten. The fried tofu with peanut sauce was a highlight - if I could reliably know that tofu would be prepared this well, I'd order it more often. The patio here is one of the nicest outdoor dining spaces I've ever been to. Pro tip - the chef at Khun Pic's has been known to decide to shut down early, so arriving early boosts your chances for getting fed on a given evening. Don't expect fast food, but do expect excellent food.

Possibly the best Thai I've had outside Thailand! We sat outside in the garden in front of the beautiful historic house. The husband and wife duo that run the restaurant are humble, welcoming and so great at what they do. Highly. highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

The sauce they use with the chicken and rice is great and is worth buying to take home to make your own dishes better. There is a good amount of seating both inside and out. I also tried the pork which was good but I prefer the chicken so will stick to that on a future visit. I have tried a lot of places that do the same thai style chicken and rice and it's almost always a miss for me, something is always off, usually the chicken is touch, or too dry, or lacking flavor but here it just hits right.

We had to wait a bit for a spot to open up but soon were able to sit with a high chair (located in the middle near the entrance). We got our number after ordering and food quickly came out after our wait to sit. We got Khao Man Gai Piset (with liver), Khao Kha Muu and chicken skins. The kids ate so much and the hainanese chicken was a kid friendly favorite! We really enjoyed the Khao Kha Muu which was similar to an adobo with yummy pickled mustard greens. The meat was tender and marinated so well. The liver is always enjoyable by me and everyone ate the skins which were so crispy! The 2 meals were large and fed all of us well. Please remember to bus your own table!

Service was efficient on a weekday for lunch. I was very impressed that the woman serving us also cooks. She said she has one other person helping her over the weekend. The food was SO DELICIOUS. This was the best pad Thai we had with such depth of flavor - not too sweet or oily, just perfect. We also had the pad kra pao, eggplant and tom kha. The tom kha had good flavor and with a thinner broth that I'm used to which was fabulous. The eggplant was so delicious - the consistency was incredible. Not too soggy, just right. I also tried the mango sticky rice. For drinks we had the Thai lemon tea which tasted like Thai iced tea without the milk and lemon added - delightful! We even bought an extra dish to take with us to go. Amazing place. Ambiance is casual. I can't wait to return.

The egg rolls were really good, so was the Duck Curry, but the fried rice stole the show. Something so simple packed with so much flavor. It is, in a word, perfect. I can only imagine what their other offerings taste like, but I myself may never know because the Green Curry is just that good. Add in excellent and attentive service and a very Portlandesque atmosphere and Paadee is a definite winner. Easily one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. If I were to pick one thing to gripe about it's that it's so good that sometimes seating isn't available, but good for them. Get it to go instead if that happens.

A stack of menus by the point of sale...but you know this place is good by the smells, laughter and the smiles, the vibe...you want to be here everything is moving smooth. The person same person that guided us with the menu also delivered one of the dishes. We order some Thai ice teas, Pad see ew and Tom kha gai. The noodles fat wide on the Pad see ew.
