Recently had the opportunity to try this place out! My friend and I got a reservation for a Wed, she booked it about a week before and the only spot left at that time was 4:30 which is right when they open. We took it! Parking was a little busy, but ended up finding something on a street a little less than one block away from the restaurant. On Wednesdays there's a farmers market in the little plaza area outside of the restaurant - this was a bit surprising but also really great because after dinner I took home some flowers and kimchi from the farmers market! The restaurant has an interesting entrance - it is down the little plaza area and up some steps. There are signs that are posted at the front street facing building door and a second door you pass as you are looking for the entrance. Both of the posted signs have clear directions on where to find the entrance. We were seated towards the middle of the restaurant next to the windows. There is lots of windows on one side providing really great light. The decor is very calm, minimal with potted plants in some of the window sills. Our server was fantastic! Very happy with great suggestions on what to order. First up - Drinks: I had the Mana 1751 True Vision Sake. It was really good, clean, crisp not too dry and paired well with everything. My friend had the Aplos - This was awesome!!!! So refreshing!!!! Next - Food!!! Cream cheese wontons: I thought they were good but I wasn't in love with them. Chili Crunch Wings - have really amazing flavor, a little spice, cooked to perfection! Although a bit messy. Sticky Jicama Ribs - very impressed with these. The texture was really great! And it tasted wonderful! They were just really unique!! Our server suggested that we order the Grilled Thick-Cut Pork Chop - and she was not wrong!!!!! It was the best thing we had!!!! The flavor was so amazing, so juicy, just really incredible. It was truly the #1 item of our dinner! I enjoyed this place and think the outdoor patio would be a nice place to sit if I came back. It was a little spendy but I would come back to try the chicken salad and noodle salad.
I had heard a lot about Khue's since I moved to Minnesota a few years ago. After finding their permanent space in Saint Paul, I finally had the chance to try it out. I went on a weekday night with a party of 5 and a reservation and we were seated right when we arrived there. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - we had some people in our party with dietary restrictions and the server was able to direct us to some good options for them which was super helpful. The space is super nice and much bigger than I was expecting. They are nestled in an area of Saint Paul that I had never been to but it was cool to check out. As others have mentioned, parking can be a bit tough - it was even for us on a weekday night. I ended up ordering the fried chicken sandwich which is an entree I love to order many places I go. The chicken was so incredibly crispy and crunchy, and the sandwich had a good level of seasoning and heat. The dessert we ordered - which I really apologize I cannot remember the name of - was fantastic also, nice way to cap off the night. Overall a great time, and I hope to return soon.
Found it despite the lack of sign. There is a picture of the couple at the foot of the stairs. Wine & beef so some sake mocktails. Service was attentive. The restaurant seems to be is in an old industrial space so has the industrial vibe. We went b4 attending a show & despite arriving (w/ reservations), it was quite busy for a Sunday evening. The food was elegantly presented & tasty. Will definitely return. Thru do have tables on the front porch for warmer weather.
We had an early dinner reservation at Khue's - it can be hard to get a reservation! The ambiance is full of greenery and feels so warm. We ordered the pork belly lettuce wraps as a starter. They're only available on Friday and Saturday but are quite seriously the perfect bite. The entrees lived up to the hype too - the pork was cooked to perfection and the jicama ribs are sticky and delicious (and might trick you into thinking you're eating meat!). We will be back!
Visited 5/15/26. One of my fave dining experiences of 2026 so far. It's definitely a tucked away place and I would give yourself time for parking/walking over because it was slightly trickier than expected with the varied parking signs nearby. We made a reservation in advance but didn't need to make it too far in advance which was nice. To start, we ordered some wine. It felt like a nicely curated selection and each of us enjoyed our wines. When we visited there weren't any cocktail options on the menu so that was the only thing that felt slightly missing, but they still had a nice selection of wine, beer, ciders, and sakes. The food was so so solid. To be a place that does veg options equal to/even better than the meat options is incredibly impressive to me. Everything we tried was well balanced flavor wise. We split the lettuce wraps which were a great shareable starter. I wish we had gotten the wontons because those looked great! We shared a tofu noodle salad, the tofu jicama sticky ribs, and the chicken sandwich. Each of these in my opinion are must orders. My favorite of these were the sticky ribs. Truly probably the best tofu dish I've ever had. Look forward to coming back-I would recommend this to anyone.
Service was accommodating and friendly. Nice seating area for waiting. We had ordered pork belly lettuce wrap and fried chicken wings as apps, fried chicken sandwich, fried rice and Thai milk tres leches for dessert. My favorite dish out of all the dishes we ordered is the pork belly lettuce wrap. The dipping sauce could have a little more tartness and spice. Small dining area but with the high ceilings of the warehouse style, makes it seem big and very modern. They have a nice patio. Prices are a little more than expected. Nice to try a new place in St. Paul.
I met up with my friend for long over due dinner. We made reservations for the patio but it looks like it was going to rain, so we asked to sit inside. The host was very accommodating and sat us inside by the bar. I never been to this side of town, building looks like a company remodel to restaurant. Looks nice and additional plants gives it a environmental friendly feeling. We ordered a variety of entrees to try. One of the dishes actually was vegetarian and was surprised how tasty it was. The Thai tea tres leche cake is delicious! Many delicious dishes, must try them all.
This place has been on our list for a long time. We finally went last night and it did not disappoint! We were lucky to get a parking space because we got there early, but we watched many people pull in and pull back out as we sat on the patio. We didn't have reservations, but we were able to walk in on a weeknight and get a table on the lovely patio. We loved how it was lit and enjoyed looking at the gorgeous mural and watching the sunset. Being vegetarians, our choices were pretty much made for us as there wasn't a ton of veg on the menu but what they did have was AMAZING. We started with the cream cheese wontons, which were I think the best we've ever had. Then the cold noodle salad with the best tofu we've ever had. It's rare that you find it cooked so perfectly, creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside. And then finally what brought us there, the famous jicama ribs, which a friend had just posted about in my socials that morning. There aren't enough words to describe these magical creatures. We eat out a lot and have had a lot of creative vegetarian food. We were blown away by these. They really did taste like something we had never had before, and we had fun trying to figure out how they made them (We did not figure it out!). We will definitely be back for these, even if they don't add more vegetarian options.
This is my new favorite spot in the Twin Cities! St. Paul specifically is leveling up, Khue's Kitchen is an incredible addition to the neighborhood. The staff and the chef are extremely kind and welcoming. You can tell a lot of thought and love go into the making of this food. The menu is quite a bit smaller than I expected when I first came, but everything on the menu is a smashing success. I've only heard good things about this restaurant and it definitely lives up to the name. I actually ended up recommending this spot to too many friends, coworkers, and family members, I also came here on Mother's Day with my parents and they absolutely loved it. As far as food, I have tried the cream cheese wontons, the chicken sandwich (popular), the sticky jicama ribs (insanely good), and the rice noodle salad dish. Everything has been sensational thus far. The chicken sandwich has a really nice herbaceous aïoli, the sticky jicama ribs are absolutely incredible especially for anyone that is vegan or vegetarian, there are no meat products in this dish, but the flavor and texture would convince you of otherwise. It's hard to explain so I'm just telling you right now that you HAVE to try the sticky jicama ribs. This is not a drill. If you end with the Thai tea tres leches, you won't be disappointed. It is a classic tres leches with a twist, the Thai tea isn't as strong as traditional but goes perfectly with the other tres leches components. The presentation is unreal! Truly impressed by this restaurant, I will continue to come here and support this local establishment. Chef Eric Pham is so awesome to talk to, wishing them nothing but success!
I cannot say entirely enough good things about the wonderful experience we had here. It's located in a fairly industrial area but the moment you walk in you are transported to a modern cozy dining experience. We were greeted by the chef/owner the second we walked in. We went on a Sunday night so did not need to wait for a table, but I would recommend reservations at a busier time. We were not ordering alcohol that night, so I chose a non-alcoholic beverage off the menu. To be honest, I didn't like it, but didn't want to say anything. I simply asked a question about it to the manager. And the owner brought me out a different drink that he thought I would like better. Talk about service. I ordered the jicama ribs, and they were some of the best faux meat product I've had in my life. Essentially, it was layers of tofu and jicama sliced and then pressed together and cooked. The visual and texture was very similar to meat. but it had its own flavor. I would compare it to items I've had at Buddhist monasteries in Asia. It was that good. The waiter was very attentive, but it was also wonderful having the owner come out and talk to us and other parties in the dining room. We weren't super hungry so we skipped dessert, but I definitely want to come back and try a few items on that menu as well. This is a restaurant that will make both meat eaters and vegetarian/vegan happy. My companion ordered pork and loved it, but since I didn't try it, I won't comment on it.
My food here was SO GOOD. Parking was very frustrating; they have a lot that seems to normally be fully occupied. There is street parking but I had to search far and wide and walk a few blocks to find a spot. The restaurant is inconspicuous to an annoying degree - check my pics to help spot it. But once I was in there it was just about as good as it gets. It was a nice day so I enjoyed the patio seating, but they have really nice dining rooms. Service was extremely professional and thoughtful. And my meal was just outstanding. The Cream Cheese Wontons may sound modest, but these were the best I've ever had, they were absolutely on-another-level. For my entree I got the Grilled Thick Cut Pork Chop. Perfectly prepared and full of interesting flavor. The accompanying salad looks like an unremarkable house salad but it's actually a nước mắm salad which was spicy and awesome. I just loved this meal. Ignore the charmlessness of the surrounding area and try this excellent restaurant.
Delicious, flavorful and innovative menu and food. Service was impeccable and attentive but not overbearing. The chicken sandwich was hard to eat with the amount of sauce but it was totally worth it. They even brought wet wipes for us after eating it. They will also cut the sandwich in half if requested for sharing but next time I'll be ordering a whole one for myself! The chicken was juicy and the breading was light and had a great crunch. The spicy jicama ribs were as delicious and flavorful as the reviews make them out to be. A bit pricey for a vegan meal but it is a must try. The texture is firm and chewy in a good way. The dish also microwaves well the next day if you take one to go. Really hard to believe there is no meat in this dish. I also wish there was a mayo to dip them in. The pork fried rice was a good but maybe not a reorder. There were many different types of pork cuts. It was yummy but was outshined by other items on the menu. The space is very chill and industrial modern with it primarily being black. Mood lighting is nice. Tables for 2 seemed a bit close together but none the less still a great experience. Limited parking in the parking lot but an abundance of free street parking .
Came here for dinner with the family to try out Khue's Kitchen, finally! Party of 8, note that half of the family are picky eaters too. Here are some of our favs! 1. Chicken salad - so light and refreshing! Get it! 2. Chicken wings - so crispy and juicy. If you don't eat spicy, remember to order it without the chili crunch. My in-laws would have eaten more if it wasn't spicy. 3. Chicken sandwich - lived up to the hype - sooo good! 4. Sticky Jicama Ribs - I didn't think I would like this dish but it ended up being my fav! Who would have thought a vegetarian dish is this good? Not me. It was crispy, savory, earthy and full of flavor. It doesn't hurt that I knew the chef & his dad from Quang's. They came out to greet us and continued to check in on us and gave us suggestions on what to order. Thank you for treating us so so well! My family and I had a great dining experience and thought the food was all very tasty! Not pictured are the savory cream cheese wontons, pork fried rice and chicken sandwich. We also loved our friendly server who knew the menu well & offered good alternatives for drinks since they only have beer & wine. Would love to see some dishes being rotated maybe seasonally and maybe change up the dessert menu. Congrats on the new beautiful space, we'll be back for sure when we are back in town!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant for a chicken sandwich! It's perfect in every way - crispy, saucy, tender chicken and big enough to share if you want to! Other favorites are the fried rice, vermicelli and Thai tea tres leches. The tofu in the vermicelli is also incredible. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Portions are generous! I've been eating Eric's food (the chef) since his pop up days. I love his fried chicken wings and order it every time I go. Throughout the years, I'd try other items on his menu, but nothing else really stood out for me. I brought my mom (her first time) to eat at Khue's Kitchen this week. We ordered the fried chicken wings, rice noodle salad, and pork chop. My mom was having a great time bantering with the waiter and she also liked the chicken wings. When the pork chop came, I noticed one side of it had severe burnt grill marks, and tasted bitter and was difficult to chew. Shrugging it away, I tried to cut the burnt parts out and started eating. Around halfway through eating the pork chop, my mom alarmingly told me the pork appears to not be fully cooked, showing me a piece of pink meat. She asked Eric to come over. Instead of apologizing or even just acknowledging my mom's concern, Eric responded with "oh people only worried about uncooked pork 15 years ago" and "it's not a thing anymore right now" and "why don't you just GOOGLE??!!" When my mom kept saying she was scared to eat undercooked pork, Eric finally acknowledged that his mom was the same, and that he had to explain to his mom as well. He then dismissively said he'd take the pork chop off of our bill, and suggested us to box up our food and leave. At that point, we were only in the restaurant for less than an hour and haven't finished either the chicken wings or the noodle salad AND basically lost our main dish. I was really disappointed in how Eric treated my mom during this experience. I've been recommending people to check out Khue's Kitchen for years, but I won't be anymore. And honestly, after having eaten the whole menu at Khue's pop up and the permanent restaurant location across the span of the last 4 years, the only stand out is still just the chicken wings. I'll just let that speak for itself. read more
Absolutely amazing overall experience that I completely forgot to take pictures beforehand! First off, we ate at the patio during sunset so that was just such a great vibe and ambience. The restaurant is tucked in a really nice area which makes it feel private and intimate! Service was awesome and very professional. Chef came around to talk to diners about the menu and that was really appreciate and just brought out a great vibe! Food was phenomenal! I had the pork chops and it was huge!! Plus the egg was delicious bonus! We really enjoyed the cream cheese wontons and fried rice! Spicy chicken sandwich was perfect and the Thai tea tres leches was the absolute best! One of the best desserts created. 10/10 experience! read more

This place completely blew my mind. The Chicken Sandwich is seriously the best in the city. It was one of those conversation stopping bites. Everything is balanced; the spice, the herb aioli... it makes me drool thinking about it now. This dish is worth the trip alone, but there were other dishes on the menu that multiple staff people raved about - the Jicama Ribs. We didn't get them, but we'll definitely will return to give them a try! read more

This has been by far one of the best dining services I have experienced. The atmosphere was beautiful and overall created a great environment for good conversation. The staff was so kind and attentive, our server was amazing, she did a great job at checking in with our table. She made us feel welcomed and was there to help with anything that we needed. Food came out in a timely manner, not only that, food was so delicious! As a Southeast Asian myself who enjoys the traditional tastes of Southeast Asian cuisine, the food had a high quality spin on Vietnamese tastes. I ordered the Crispy Pork Lettuce Wraps which was a great balance of light tasting but still fulfilling my appetite. The pork was tender and melts in your mouth with the great combination of sitting on top of vermicelli noodles that does a great job at absorbing the sauce that comes with it, overall creating an delicious and addictive taste with every bite. The owner came out to talk to us, he was so cool, friendly, and down to earth! It was fun to talk to him as if he was one of our buddies. Making our table feel seen and important, would definitely recommend 10/10 would come again. read more

Came here for dinner with a couple of friends and ordered a few different dishes to share. All of the things we ordered were delicious and seasoning was on point, but I feel like the service was a bit slow and uncoordinated (e.g., several servers came over and asked the same questions). Unassuming isn't quite the right word for what to expect when walking up to Khues Kitchen. But walk in, and you're greeted warmly into a lovely modern, inviting space. Snagged a spot on a whim, but they are busy and modest in size enough that I'd recommend a reservation. It's a relaxed and casual but elevated environment. Service was prompt and friendly. There is a lovely wine and beer list with lots of global options for everyone. The water service is exceptional. Our glasses were never less than 3/4 full The food menu has unique items featuring contemporary Vietnamese dishes. We had the chili crunch wings and sticky jicama wings. The texture on the wings was fantastically crispy. The sticky jicama ribs- I need to wax poetic about these for a moment. Firstly, they look like real ribs. The soy glaze is flavorful with just enough spice. The "rib" pieces perfectly emulated a bbq pork rib both visually and texturally. The jicama has the texture of the crispy fatty bits, and the tofu is designed with the striations and coloring of actual meat. The stylization of the innards of this dish is on par or better than plates at many high end prix fixe places. I'm just a humble casual food reviewer, but in my opinion, this dish alone deserves a Michelin star. I've had actual real bbq ribs that were not nearly as good as these. There is no ostentatious fan fare, but Khue's deserves it. My dining experience was above and beyond my expectations. read more

We've gone to the pop ups a few times and always enjoyed the food so was excited to stop by the restaurant. Got the bánh mì xíu mại and the spicy chicken sando. The chicken was perfectly crispy and love the herb aioli. The spicy chicken sando has always been a favorite from going to previous pop-ups, but also enjoyed the bánh mì xíu mại. Also got the Thai tea tres leche for dessert and this was phenomenal and highly recommend it! Great ambiance and servers were nice and attentive. There is also small parking lot available for parking. read more

Updating my review because I just visited the new location for the first time! The food is just as great as I remembered it being and the space is super nice and open. The spicy chicken sandwich is an absolute must-order!! Other favorites were the jicama ribs, fried rice, and meatball. A new establishment and we were lucky to get a reservation for a Saturday dinner. The food simply extraordinaire. Each of the meal we ordered has its signature taste and well prepared. We shared roast pork fried rice, crispy pork lettuce wraps, spicy chicken sando, grilled sirloin and Bahn mi xiu mai. Delicious!!! read more
After having Khue's Kitchen as a pop-up years ago, I was so excited to go to their grand opening this weekend at their new location on Raymond Ave! The five spice tofu is my favorite item - the tofu is so chewy and crunchy and has a fantastic savory five spice glaze. We also enjoyed the Thai tea tres leches cake. It wasn't overly sweet and highlighted the spices in the tea nicely. The wine list focuses on natural wines which made for some interesting options. Service was attentive and thoughtful. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with the trendiness of the place. The interior decor was inviting with a touch of industrial charm. The waitress was warm and attentive. We started off with their new drink, lychee lemonade. It was refreshing and the combination of lychee and lemonade was perfectly balance. We then ordered tofu ribs, grilled pork and the chicken sando. I was impressed with the tofu ribs which was unbelievably delicious and tasty. I could actually eat the 'fat' and not feel guilty about it! The grilled pork chop (not pictured cos we dug in before the camera could eat!) was tender, sumptuous and paired so well with the spicy salad. My son had the chicken sandwich which was well-balanced in terms of its texture and flavors, from the crispness and tenderness of the meat, the lightness of the sauce to the bun. We rounded up our meal with 2 affogato which we nearly licked the bottom with of our glasses. Next time, we will try the Thai tea tres leches! Lastly, we enjoyed talking to the chef's dad and knowing the story behind the restaurant! We highly recommend this family-owned restaurant and will definitely come visit again. read more

The only people who should come to Khue's Kitchen are those that crave intensely rich flavors, beautifully presented dishes, brought to your table by attentively engaging servers. Others should stay away. The setting is industrial that simultaneously manages to be warm and comfortable. We greatly enjoyed the famous chicken wings, so crisp, so tasty, so not greasy. Khue's chicken salad is the chefs take on the classic dish. Not so classic, but amazing were the sticky jicama ribs. Difficult to describe, they are thinly sliced bursts of spicy crispness. Our meal was capped off with a conversation with the chef's dad and the chef himself. A totally great experience! read more

The food was all very delicious. So much that I went back the following week before the leave Bar Brava (1/13/24). A few points on the food: 1]Fried Wings- You can have it with or without chili crunch. Or like I did... put it on half. First time I got it, it came with a tasty sweet sauce that went well on the rice. 2)Fried Chicken Sandwich- that herb aioli is so tasty. I bet it would be good on the rice too. 3)Cream Cheese Wontons- good, but the highlight for me was the dipping sauce. It had a light fruity flavor. I had a lovely experience. Once Khue's Kitchen leaves, my understanding is 1) they'll be new venture for them and 2) Bar Brava will have another pop up. read more

Khue's Kitchen @ Bar Brava is one place that is not talked about enough! I was so wowed with the cuisine. The spare ribs are out of this world. Paired with the cilantro and red cabbage with rice, compliment each other so well. Not to mention the egg soaked in soy sauce. Delicious! You can tell the menu was thought out so so well. I also shared a few other foods not pictured with my friends, wings and cheese wontons also amazing! The Vietnamese coffee with vanilla ice cream was such a delicious treat. And finally the Chè panna cotta. I can't rave about this dessert enough! The coconut cream with jackfruit and lychee was quite the treat. Just thinking about all this food is making me relive the wonderful experience I had eating at Khue's Kitchen. Hats off to the chef! Beautiful restaurant, amazing food, worth every penny! read more

As a Vietnamese American, I really appreciated thr care to have Viet fusion that tastes right! Some Viet spots or Viet fusion spots waters down their flavors to appeal to a larger audience, but Khue's has all the right flavors to be new yet nostalgic at the same time. I love the caramelized spare ribs with the jammy egg, five spice tofu, chili oil wings, and the chicken sandwich. I'm sure I would have loved everything else too if I had ordered it! The dessert is also spot on- affogato and coconut panna cotta. You order with the staff (and you can also order Bar Brava's wine) but if you are lucky enough, Chef Eric would be in front of you cooking and you'll get to chat with him. He's humble, talented, and has a true love for cooking. Khue's will be at Bar Brava until December, which is a cozy and intimate space- perfect for one on one conversations and dates. I'll be sad to see Chef Eric go, but can't wait to see what his next project and plans for Khue's will be! read more

This was a great experience as a vegetarian. All the people I interacted with were lovely and the food was all delicious. We got the rice noodle salad and the jicama ribs which were both very tasty. The jicama was mind blowing and we had to ask if it was meat because it tasted so similar to something animal based. We also got the affogato which was yummy too! The ambiance was calm and warm, will definitely be returning. Thank you chef and lovely servers for an amazing experience. read more

Went to check out this place over the weekend after my wife suggested we check it out and I was pleasantly surprised. All of the food we ordered was really good. I'm not a huge chicken sandwich fan but their spicy chicken sando was flavorful and the chicken patty itself was crispy and juicy. The jicama ribs were good too. It had a soy glaze on there that was sweet and tasty. It definitely made the dish enjoyable for me. My favorite dish would have to be the sirloin. It was a nice cut of meat and it was cooked perfectly. I thought it was cool how the chef came out to the dining area to check every now and then to make sure it was cooked right for whoever ordered the steak. With that being said, the staff and chefs were all really nice, cool, and attentive. After our appetizers came out, it did take a little while to get our first entree, which was the chicken sandwich. After the chicken sandwich, it did take a little while again for the steak and jicama ribs to come out. This didn't make or break anything for us, but I kinda wished all of the entrees would have been brought out together instead of one after another, waiting up to 10 minutes in between. Other than that minor thing, we really enjoyed the food and experience here. read more
