Drinks were too sweet but I added water and it was fine! Pork pineapple fried rice hit the spot. Smokey. The bites with onion was amazing. Stuffed chicken was really good. Sizeable and shareable. No need for the pineapple garnishment. Would have preferred a different sauce. Papaya lao style was so good. The fermented paste was strong. Loved the Jerky. Nam khao 10/10 crispy. Perfect. Balanced. Will return

We had to ask for our drinks a few time because of the lunch rush and they were very apologetic! We ordered Thai Iced Teas, Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Cream Cheese Wontons. My friend loved her Pad Thai. The Pineapple Fried Rice was okay. It didn't have a lot of pineapple in it but it was very good. I was skip the cream cheese wontons because the wonton wrappers were still doughy near the crease/fold and wasn't very flavorful. The Thai Iced Teas were really sweet so be forewarned to let your ice melt in it a bit to make it less so. Our bill came to about $70 for appetizer, two drinks, and two entrees. Not bad but not great. Overall 3/5 for food and overall service.

The pho was also amazing! The broth was perfect and the portion was huge! Came out super hot and fresh. My only complaint is that the meat had lots of fatty pieces, hence the 4 star rating. Definitely will be back!

We were greeted by the most friendly woman and it actually hurts a bit to only give this place a 3 because she was delightful!! The inside is small but does have some limited seating. The seating area was clean. The food: my friend got the vegetable pho and didn't finish it because he said the broth really wasn't very flavorful. I have the shrimp curry and the shrimp were kind of rubbery and the sauce was very average. The portions to price were also a bit high in my opinion. Over all this place was just very average. It wasn't bad but not memorable...

The portion sizes are great for the price and they have lots of fun extras as well; I would recommend the Thai iced coffee.

My partner and I are visiting Minneapolis from Chicago and ordered delivery from this place based…read moreon the 4.5 yelp review rating. I ordered the veggie egg rolls and pad Thai with tofu. The spring rolls were good, perfectly cooked, the dipping sauce was delicious. The pad Thai unfortunately was very bland, and tasted like peanuts and noodles. The noodles were a little drier than I prefer, there was no evidence of eggs, and no flavor. My partner got the veggie lo mein, which he finished completely and said was pretty good. I thought it had a funny smell to it. He also ordered spring rolls which were huge. He ate one of the 2, and said they were ok. So between the two of us, his food was good and mine I only ate a few bites of the pad thai and won't be finishing it. I did eat the 3 egg rolls, but now I've gotta find an alternative dinner for the evening. So for that reason, I'm eating this place a 3.

I've eaten here during transitional times, settled-in-and-part-of-the-community times, with my kids, and now during those increasingly nostalgic trips back to Minnesota. Somehow Qué Việt works for all of them. I love it. My kids love it. And I genuinely have a hard time imagining going wrong here. My formula is pretty simple: get the spicy chicken, add a rice or noodle dish, and drive the whole thing home with an egg roll. Especially the egg roll. Qué Việt has built a reputation around those things for a reason. The food is comforting, generous, consistently delicious and completely without pretense. It's the kind of neighborhood restaurant that eventually stops feeling like somewhere you decided to eat and simply becomes your place. That's what Qué Việt became for me. There's also something strange about returning to restaurants you depended on when you lived somewhere. You walk through the door years later on vacation, order familiar food, and for an hour you're not really visiting anymore. You're just back. I wish this place nothing but good things. Thanks for a lot of meals, a lot of memories, and for still being there whenever Minnesota brings us back. If I could DoorDash Qué Việt to New York, I'd probably have a problem. Until somebody figures that out, it'll remain a mandatory stop every time I'm back in Minneapolis

****BEST BANH MI @NICOLLET LOCATION ONLY****…read more This is my only goto Lu's location located on Nicollet Avenue EAT STREET. Lu's has another location located in Northeast, however, you will never see me at any restaurant located in NE. I've been to a few restaurants in that area and nobody in those restaurants and I've have been served really old tasting food, especially at the Thai restaurants in NE. This location in NE is not as fresh as the Nicollet Avenue location. I've been to that place twice there and it's always something's been off about the taste there. Can't really put my finger on it but the only thing that comes to mind is I feel like there's not enough people that come through those doors over there. So I only go to this location off Nicollet and have avoided everything & all places in Northeast like the plague. I feel like that side of town is cursed or something. It has the worst food in all of Minneapolis... NE is extremely questionable area lol. I rather order Chinese food off Lake Street then go to any place in Northeast that's how I feel about Northeast lol.

They serve banh mi, rice noodle bowls, egg rolls, and spring rolls. They have several vegetarian option. I got the veggie egg rolls and a large tofu banh mi which I split with a friend! The egg rolls had a good crisp. They're filled with carrots and bean thread primarily. They are definitely an oilier egg roll, but no one eats egg rolls to be healthy! They are tasty, and I would get them again! The tofu banh mi was good! The tofu had a good curry flavor, and they were generous with their fillings, which I really appreciated! The bread itself wasn't the crispiest, but it was a humid day so I could see that making it a little less crisp! It was still overall good, and I was really happy with the amount of mayo that went on the sandwich! I think you get good bang for your buck with the sandwiches here, so I would recommend it and go back!

Proteins all served at correct doneness in the Pho Dac Biet so you get the tougher cuts well done and rendered and the thin steak raw so it cooks in the broth. Great side accompaniments, Thai basil still on the stalk and living, fresh bean sprouts, Sri Racha and chiles in oil depending on your tastes, squirt bottle of hoisin. The only tiny nitpick I have is I wish they had bigger spoons available for those of us who like to mix sauces and soup in the spoon instead of muddying up the bowl. Also Vietnamese coffee is prepared old fashioned, not in a boba cup where you can't tell if it was made just now or weeks ago. Great service. This is a tiny little joint which is exactly what you expect from a world class Pho place.

You will find all of the authentic Vietnamese dishes here. The only Vietnamese dish that they do not have is bun Bo hue. They have everything else. #1 pho in the state. It is not on the sweet side. It is more on the savory oriental spices Vietnamese true oriental spices. If you're looking for a sweet style Pho, stay on the Saint Paul side you will not find that type of pho on the Minneapolis side. You will never find me ordering pho on the Saint Paul side because I do not do sweet pho. For example, there is a Pho Pasteur in St. Paul like the one in Boston but don't be fooled because that place is located in Saint Paul and it is very sweet broth there and it is nothing like the place in Boston. This is the #1 Viet restaurant for the pork chop broken rice plate. You will never find another place of this exceptional quality. That makes better marinated pork. I love love their lemongrass chili oil. It is not drenched in oil like at Chinese places like this is the true Vietnamese style lemongrass chili oil. The line is out the door around the block between 11 AM and 2 PM so you gotta get here early or come after the peak hours

WHOA MSG OVERLOAD!…read more This is typical Asian street food. Fast & full of MSG! The bread here is very authentic Vietnamese.. It is light and airy and crispy on the outside. I ordered Bo Ko. The carrots tasted like they were from frozen. It was a weird texture. It was not from fresh. Their beef was extremely tender however I assume from the MSG because it's normally not this tender anywhere else that I've ever had. The taste of the broth definitely tasted like it was from a soup base powder mix from premade not in-house. If you've ever had this dish at Quangs which is another fully loaded MSG Asian restaurant they make it better there of a thicker broth, more like a curry beef broth. The service is absolutely incredible. You will not find better service at any other restaurant in your entire life, however, I do not believe in fully loading foods with MSG. So it definitely breaks my heart to give a one star review just because I feel like everything was cooked with sauce packets powder packets not like authentic individual spices. They're charging almost $20 when you could buy the sauce packets that are five cents each at the Asian grocery store stores. So the taste is a rip off here. This place has a lot of potential because at other Asian restaurants, the service always always horrible. You will be particularly surprised the service here is absolutely terrific. The dipping sauce for their shrimp and pork spring rolls tasted more of a sauce that you would get in Thailand, not Vietnam. They serve Thai food at this place and we all know Thai restaurants have the worst service you'll ever have in your entire life. Since this is a Vietnamese restaurant, it's highly unlikely that their Thai dishes are authentic. So I will give them three stars, five stars for the service one star for the food. P.S. For this being a Vietnamese restaurant, I did not see any Vietnamese customers in there although there were other Asian customers in there I would say they were Korean Filipino Hmong. That says a lot about the Viet food. I would say this is a Thai-Viet sytle dishes. Not authentic Viet. My goto Vietnamese place are MT Noodles in Brooklyn Park they do not use MSG. My goto Thai is Coconut Thai in St Paul / Edina.
