Taylor is always very straight about what needs to be done, what could be done and is what my options are.

I asked what guidelines this practice using for diagnosing gum disease and determining when periodontal treatment is necessary and he accused me of demanding that the front-desk staff provide me personal dental advice. I did not express a dental concern nor ask for advice. I asked for general guidelines and clinic policy. That did not warrant the level of hostility and disrespect he displayed. I would never trust a medical professional with such inexplicable contempt for people asking questions. I have contacted the regional manager about his behavior.

I spent more time trying to straighten out over charges with a new financial manager who apologised and offered a free cleaning due to their mismanagement. Then a new financial manager would be hired, and the charges would recur. Also, got 3 texts (confirmed) for an appointment and then discovered my appointment was canceled. The desk stated, "I don't know why it was canceled", after I showed them the text from the prior day with a confirmation that I would be attending. I am now with a new practice that is so much less stressful to work with. I wish Carolina's Dentist the best but don't have the stamina to keep working with their financial managers.

I never thought I'd say this about a dental office, but this place genuinely feels like a spa…read more From the moment you walk in, everything is calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed, right down to the local artwork on the walls. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive without being rushed, and they immediately make you feel at ease. You're offered drinks, and the warm towels for your face are such a small touch that somehow makes a huge difference. The technology here is next level. They use state-of-the-art equipment, including new cleaning machines that basically power-wash your teeth (in the best way possible). It's efficient, comfortable, and honestly impressive. You can tell they invest heavily in keeping the practice modern and patient-focused. What really sets this office apart, though, is the care. Everything is explained clearly and transparently, no pressure, no upselling, just honest recommendations and extremely skilled work. The owner truly goes above and beyond, and you can feel how much pride she takes in her practice and her patients' experience. If you're someone who normally dreads dental visits, this place will completely change your expectations. I actually look forward to coming back, which is something I never thought I'd say about the dentist. Highly, highly recommend.

Beware of incompetent, unprofessional staff and billing errors…read more I went to this office for a cleaning in October 2025 and scheduled a crown for November. Per their policy, I paid a $500 deposit upfront and the remaining balance on the day of the procedure. A few days before Christmas, they began repeatedly calling, emailing, and texting me about a supposed $584 "past due" balance, asking if I had other insurance. Before I even had a chance to respond, they sent a bill. I was then told by their office to call MetLife and ask them to reprocess the claim--something that should never be the patient's responsibility. I did anyway. MetLife confirmed the issue: the dental office had checked the wrong box on the claim, making it appear I had other coverage, which triggered a reversal. I had to explain their own error back to them after being harassed about a balance that was never mine. At no point did the practice acknowledge the mistake or apologize. Instead, the practice manager said she was "frustrated" that I had contacted MetLife--despite their staff directing me to do exactly that--and even claimed MetLife was being dishonest. The incorrect balance still sits on my account with a prompt to pay. They claim they are not actively collecting, but the system will gladly take my money if I choose to pay it. That is unacceptable. Even worse, if this is not resolved, MetLife may deduct this amount from my 2026 benefits--meaning I could lose coverage for care I actually need. I am now overdue for a cleaning and additional dental work, and I no longer feel comfortable returning. The office is aware of this, yet their response has been dismissive at best and hostile at worst. For a practice that advertises itself as the "number one" dentist in Chapel Hill, this experience has been the opposite. Competence, accountability, and basic professionalism matter far more than marketing claims.

I'd recommend him to anyone in the Chapel Hill area-- in fact I've already recommended him to some coworkers and other friends. The office is less of a dentist office and more of a spa. There is a water feature on the far side when you walk in, free coffee and other drinks, plush chairs, and always a helpful person at the front desk when you walk in. The seat used during cleanings and procedures is extra comfortable-- I've sat in a lot of dentist chairs and never given them two thoughts, but the seats at Studio G are way better for some reason. The technician pulls a TV monitor over your head while cleaning, and the lights used inside your mouth are very focused so they're not beaming you in the eyes. I think there is a fish tank connecting some of the rooms. Really nice touches. But again, Dr. Hardin is the best. My wife said he is the only dentist to give her fillings that didn't hurt. Do yourself a favor and give Studio G a visit. You're welcome.

I come here for my first dental care after 2 years without dental care (due to insurance changes)…read more They did imaging & a meeting with the dentist first. Unfortunately, I had fractures in my two front teeth (from grinding my teeth at night, something I had been told by previous dentists, but never been told it could lead to teeth cracking, etc). They told me that I could just keep an eye on it, but that eventually I would need crowns on both. Since I have good insurance at the moment, I decided to just go ahead and get the crowns. I did not enjoy the experience of getting the crowns, but I got it done! I also got a mouth guard & started flossing and using mouth wash regularly after they told me I had mild gum disease. I ended up paying my whole deductible due to the procedure, with a bit extra because of the mouth guard. Then, however, I unexpectedly received a bill in the mail for the entire cost of the procedure! I definitely coudln't afford that, so I called them, and they said they would deal with it. I didn't hear back from them for a week or so, so then I called them again about it. They said that they saw a note had been made, but that it didn't seem like it had been addressed. This second person said that they would deal with it. I was pretty worried at this point, but I had a follow up appointment soon, so the next time I went in I asked them about it. They told me that their insurance department had reviewed it and corrected the mistake, and that I didn't owe anything. I was glad to hear that (though I wish that this had happened the first time I had called, and also that I had gotten a call back to let me know things had been taken care of). Ultimately, though, it all turned out okay! My crowns are doing well (and look pretty good, imo), and I've been using my mouth guard regularly to protect them. Overall, though I feel that they could have had some better communication around finances, I have had positive experiences there. The staff has been helpful & friendly throughout it all, and the dental care I have received is excellent.

The ladies at the front desk were very nice and I didn't wait long before I was taken back for x-rays by another nice person who had a calm way about her. I felt I received great care today.
