The dentist is very good, and the office is state of the art. I also want to say that the hygenist…read moreare also professional and pleasant. The billing department is a nightmare. I spent more time trying to straighten out over charges with a new financial manager who apologised and offered a free cleaning due to their mismanagement. Then a new financial manager would be hired, and the charges would recur. Also, got 3 texts (confirmed) for an appointment and then discovered my appointment was canceled. The desk stated, "I don't know why it was canceled", after I showed them the text from the prior day with a confirmation that I would be attending. I am now with a new practice that is so much less stressful to work with. I wish Carolina's Dentist the best but don't have the stamina to keep working with their financial managers.

I asked what guidelines this practice using for diagnosing gum disease and determining when periodontal treatment is necessary and he accused me of demanding that the front-desk staff provide me personal dental advice. I did not express a dental concern nor ask for advice. I asked for general guidelines and clinic policy. That did not warrant the level of hostility and disrespect he displayed. I would never trust a medical professional with such inexplicable contempt for people asking questions. I have contacted the regional manager about his behavior.

A Money-First Practice CarolinasDentist prioritizes profits…read moreover patient care. I was searching for a same-day crown and confirmed they were in-network with my insurance before visiting. Despite having valid insurance, a referral, and updated X-rays, they insisted on either a limited or comprehensive exam--both billable--before providing any treatment or even an estimate. I reluctantly agreed to the $72 limited exam. The dentist spent less than a minute looking in my mouth, counting crowns and cavities, and giving a cursory glance at my temporary crown. Only after this minimal effort did the office staff provide an estimate--an exorbitant amount, even in-network, and far higher than other practices in the area. When I declined treatment and prepared to leave, they insisted on filing a claim for a "comprehensive" exam with my insurance, even though they had not performed the full range of services typically included, such as X-rays. Is that not fraudulent? Reflecting on my experience, I remembered overhearing a patient in the waiting room calling her bank to transfer $800 just to pay her bill. That should have been my warning. Avoid this practice unless you're prepared to prioritize their profit margins over your own health care needs.

Went inside to find an offer of $100 for a cleaning and X-rays. Sold. Two weeks later, I was in to get my teeth worked on. It must be a popular place because my appointment date was far off. Though the lousy reviews wouldn't reflect their being "popular" at all. Infamous, maybe. Which is weird because my experience was a fine one. All the ladies there were sweet-natured and accommodating. Sarah worked on my teeth using technology I'd never seen before in previous years of dental visits elsewhere. I saw my entire tooth layout in 3D on a view screen. It was super cool. After inspecting my teeth, I fully expected someone to try to upsell me on some deeper cleaning treatment or related work. But I can be obsessive about my maintenance regiments, and obviously they couldn't find a reason to push me for extra money. I've been to places that tried everything they could to dig deeper into my pockets. This place didn't. I was happy with the results, I loved their tech and watched more "Gilmore Girls" than I'd have liked, but no need to trash them for that. It was clean as a whistle, and everybody was kind. And my teeth feel great. Good place. No complaints. All the best.

I'm not one to write reviews, but I have to share how pleased with this dentist I am. I have been…read moreto 4 different dentists in the past 4 years and can say, without a doubt, this is by far the best experience. 1) Dr hamilton and Dr harris are such great people and I feel like they truly want what's best for me (tooth-wise and $$-wise). It's simple, but I just really trust them. They spend quality time answering my questions and are very professional, while also doing a really good job on my teeth (I had a procedure recently and it went shockingly well). The hygienists are also very experienced and warm 2) They're not telling me to get procedures i don't need -- I actually came to this dentist a year ago looking for a second opinion after a former dentist told me I needed ten (10!!) cavities filled + a chipped molar fixed. Chapel Hill dental group totally refuted that and also let me decide when I wanted to get that molar fixed ("no rush!"). I appreciated the shared decision-making and also that they weren't making things feel urgent that aren't 3) I keep being impressed by their use of new technologies (which actually make it all smoother / easier), but the office still feels quite home-y and pleasant in there Anyhow, I recommended this place to my own family

Every time I go in, I have to listen to his lecture about how all of my dental work is doomed to eventually fail and will need to be redone by him. He's smiling as he says this with no regard for me as the client in his chair (that would have to go through the procedures and put out the money). He speaks of my mouth as if it's a road top - saying he loves to drill on things, he loves to patch. It's all about business.
