Dr. Jeffrey West is an excellent dentist - the best of the best. My wife and I have been seeing him for years. In fact, we would drive miles & miles to go to his office. He is professional, precise and calm. We have always had a good experience and feel very confident that he will do whatever is needed to keep our teeth in great shape. Plus, he never pushes or upsells things that aren't necessary. Dr. West, Anita and the rest of the staff are friendly and work well as a team, too. Dr. West's office is the best dental office I've ever been to, and after so many different issues with prior dentists, it was a breath of fresh air. The office is always clean and tidy and is compact without being cramped. Both Dr. West and Anita (a hygienist and office manager who is the BOMB) are excellent people and excellent at dental work. They're always prompt, I never wait more than 5 minutes for an appointment, if that. Dr. West has helped me personally take control of my teeth, and thanks to him, my teeth have never been healthier. I'll admit it -- I've always been terrified of going to the dentist.; the sound of the drill, being confined to the chair, the uncertainty of the cost and oh yeah, the pain. I am not so terrified anymore after discovering Dr. West's office on yelp. His assistant Anita is always friendly and upbeat, and makes you feel at ease as soon as you walk in. Dr. West is incredibly laid back and conscientious. He'll give you an assessment of the work that needs to be done, but is very conservative. He's not one of those dentists that try to "up-sell" you; he will only recommend what needs to be done. I have been very happy with this office. While I can't say that I absolutely love going to the dentist now, I am very pleased with their services and highly recommend them. read more

Moved here from back East recently and was looking for a good dentist as my wife and I had for fourteen years there. Its hard sometimes to come to a new area and find that comfort zone for dentists and doctors. In finding Doctor West, its home again ! A wonderfully young talented dentist in a small comfortable office with his dental assistant and that down home special feeling they give you as soon as you open the door. It felt as if I stepped into someones living room for a nice chat with my mouth open! I would highly recommend anyone in the area to make an appointment and become one of his loyal patients as we have. I hate the dentist. No one I know likes the dentist. Even their spouses hate them. I love this dentist. They were understanding of my gag reflex, they listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and told me an exact plan of action for what I have to have done next. The assistant who did my cleaning and x-rays was awesome. This is the first time I ever left the dentist happy. If you need a dentist, Dr west is your guy. If you don't leave your current dentist office happy, switch to Dr. West, I did and I'm so happy I did. I'm signing up for Yelp just so I can post this, that's how good they were. read more

I have been going to Dr. West for a few years now. I tell everyone about how great it is. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seen. Dr. West and his dental hygienist, Anita, are excellent at what they do and are also incredibly personable. I look forward to seeing them every six months. I am a dental student in the DDS program at UNC-Chapel Hill and chose to leave my dentist at home in order to be his patient here in Chapel Hill. I was impressed by his philosophies articulated on his website and his approach to dentistry as preventative care centered around families (even though I, myself, am a single grad student). This motivated me to set up an appointment that later confirmed all the positive impressions I made when visiting his practice's website. If I could one day have a practice half as nice and professional as Dr. West's, I would feel like an accomplished dentist. read more

Great experience. Dr. West's practice is clearly up to date with the latest technology. Beautiful space. Dr. West is personable and clearly cares about his patients. He pointed out some gum recession and a small cavity and discussed my full spectrum of options for addressing these (including realistic assessments for doing nothing at all). I am terrified. of. the. dentist. I've had horrific experiences as a kid and was really dreading my appointment with Dr. West; I hadn't been to the dentist in years (4-5?) because I couldn't afford it (father lost his job during the recession and I'm a poor college grad). Anyway, my wisdom teeth were beginning to crowd my mouth and I couldn't put the dentist off anymore. And plus, I found a Living Social deal to help with the cost (exam, cleaning, and xrays for $99) - it's expired now, but I bet there will be another soon, so keep checking. Anita (receptionist and hygienist) is super friendly and reassuring. I work two jobs (poor college grad, remember?) and so I can't make a lot of phone calls during the day; she responded to email very promptly, answered all my questions, and even scheduled my appointment without me having to call once. When she was cleaning my teeth, she was very gentle. Dr. West was very kind and sat with me before we started; we talked through my worries. He even did part of the cleaning! I've never had a dentist do that. Usually they pop in, take a look, and are gone in 5 seconds. Not Dr. West. The office is very swanky: leather chairs in the lobby, Apple laptops, brand new equipment, wood floors, huge windows in the exam rooms, even digital xrays that pop up immediately on the computer. I got to see my xrays for the first time. Overall, I'm very impressed. I'll definitely go back. read more
