We saw the new location on Hamilton Ave but doesn't look open? Is the Winchester location still in operation now.?

The location on Hamilton opened recently, end of COVID, I want to say. Their staff is really friendly & the wait is hardly ever longer than 20 minutes.

I got V8 banh cuon tay ho chay which came with flour sheet, stuffed flour sheet, yam tempura, mung bean tempura, fried tofu, veggies, and then they even brought out a vegetarian dipping sauce for me. Everything was absolutely delicious, I especially enjoyed the flour sheet when dipped in the sauce, and the yam tempura. The mung bean tempura was also really interesting, it sort of looked and tasted like a muffin. I also got a pennywort juice since my Vietnamese friend said she drank it growing up in Vietnam and had never seen it on a menu in the US before. It was very interesting, not really sweet at all, I mostly liked it but it had a slightly weird aftertaste. The service was good enough, the waiters weren't super attentive or particularly friendly but our food came out quickly and we had no issues. The interior is spacious and clean. When I asked for a takeout container it even came with a little cup for dipping sauce which was really nice. Highly highly recommend!

My friends got the grilled pork over rice while I went with fruit pork wraps. Thus is a classic VN dish that you assemble on your own at the table. The lettuce leaves form the taco shell base, then the moistened rice paper, then your fillings. Noodles, pork, mint leaves and more. I should have asked for freeh sliced jalapeños. Next time. Afish sauce is at the table so pour on to taste.

Phin Cafe has become one of my favorite Vietnamese-style cafes in the Bay Area…read more I've tried a few different drinks & enjoyed them all. "The" Phin Coffee is a unique experience; you get to prepare the drink to your liking. The Milo Coffee and Nutella Banana Coffee became new favorites that are hard to find elsewhere. I'll note that the default sweetness might be a bit much for the average person. I've tried a few snacks and thought they were fine. The Pâté Chaud was fresh & tasty. However the Egg Puff and the biscotti that comes with the Phin Coffee were more average. The service is friendly. They often provide good tips, like warning how much caffeine is in the large drinks & how best to prepare the Phin Coffee. It's also fun to watch them film new content for social media. The vibes are on-point. The inside is well-decorated & lit. There is complimentary Wi-Fi, charging, & restrooms. It's good for solo or small groups. My final comment is that this plaza's parking lot fills up on the weekends, so finding a spot was more challenging than expected. But it's always been worth it!

Very disappointed in the service here. I usually come here while my daughter attends dance class…read more This time, I brough my 11- year old with me to have a drink and sandwich. We ordered from Ari at the front counter then sat down with our drinks. The tables are pretty small and she accidentally knocked over and spilled her entire drink all over herself and the floor. I cleaned it up and the front desk person, Ari, also helped clean the spill off the floor. After everything was cleaned, I asked if we could re-do her drink and Ari at the front said their "policy is that they will not re-do a drink if it has been spilled and if we want another drink we have to pay for it". She had a bad attitude on top of everything. It was an accident and very embarrassing, and the least they could do is give the girl another drink. She literally had one sip. I understand if someone walks out then comes back saying they spilled and needed a new drink, but she saw the whole thing happen. I have never heard of this policy anywhere else. Maybe it shouldn't be an entire blanket policy and they should make exceptions. I've been here in the past with friends too and the same person, Ari, has always had a horrible attitude. She should not be working here.

Phin Cafe - Very nice and clean interior. So cozy and music playing isn't too loud.
