I hired KH Custom Home Solutions for a renovation of both bathrooms in my home. The project was substantial since it required removing the old flooring, installing a new vanity and toilet, removing tile from the walls, installing tile in the floors, rerouting some pluming, installing quartz counter tops, and moving light fixtures. Ken and his crew just finished a job at our home in Springtown. We needed deck repair, refinishing, taking down an old gazebo and putting up a new one. Plus we had a hot tub that needed to be hooked up. When looking for a contractor you hope to find someone who is honest, cares about work quality, keeps you informed and is hands on at the job. Ken met and surpassed all of these requirements! The workers who were here doing the work, David and David (yes two David's) were hard working and so nice. They did a great job! I particularly liked that Ken was here each day going over the plan for the day with the David's. There seemed to be mutual respect between them which makes for a good team and a great job! I met Ken when he was remodeling a home across the street from me. I watched him work on site daily with the crew and had some nice conversations with him. He worked hands on with his crew and must have made countless trips everyday back and fourth to home depo. I said to myself now this guy isnt one of those "hand the work off to the subs" and collect a check guy which you see with a lot of contractors. He always stopped and took a few minutes of his time away from work and his crew to bs with me and he was a funny guy with some personality that's always nice when your working with someone, who doesn't enjoy a few laughs as long as the works getting done right?. He struck me as a very personable , professional guy who knew what he was doing and an all around "get it done guy". The home he remodeled was eventually complete , went on the market and sold for about 30k more than asking price. The work was well done. The seller was not only happy with the sale price but happy with Kens work. Later I contacted Ken to do some odds and ends for me and that went well. I'm in the Livermore Real Estate industry so a lot of clients ask me for contractor referrals. I have referred Ken on several occasions and he has provided my clients with great service. I recently had him do a complete remodel in one of my rental units and that went well. If your looking for good service, professionalism and a contractor that knows his stuff and gets it done I would recommend Ken. Ken is a fabulous contractor partner. We have worked him on projects in the Southbay at our home in Willow Glen since 2008. I'm tend to be pretty picky and precise - my taste is a blend of French mixed with Antique - and Ken can work with this so we end up being a great team. = ) Since he has come on the scene we have completed the following projects together: Replacement of all lighting fixtures in the entire home including massive chandelier in entry way (twice because I changed my mind), remodeling of master bathroom done in 2 phases (two years apart due to our schedule!) - and you cannot tell (which is a true blessing), installment of antique pocket doors (two), installment of large Marvin Awning window (perfect), and revamp of all outdoor lighting (we did this twice at least because I wanted to "change" stuff again - as I added more plants etc.). Addition of outdoor electrical sockets throughout the entire home etc. The biggest life saver was when I let a contractor go whom was working on very long and involved hard scape around our pool mid project. I called Ken in to save us and it he did a phenomenal job. Working to figure out where this guy left off, negotiating the end of deal and taking up the reigns to right the ship. He build a pool wall, seating area, installed water features and so forth. Ken has worked with us over the years and our home and sanity is much better for it!! We hired Ken to replace all the doors in our home. Some of the doors didn't close, and others wouldn't open without brute force. Ken and his employees were very professional. The guys were friendly, nice, and didn't mind my animals. The work was done quickly and correctly. Ken did a final walk through of the house and answered any questions I had. We now have doors that both open and close correctly. I was and continue to be very pleased with the new outside and inside doors in our home. OMG!! Ken is the most amazing contractor that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. His team does stellar work and he is always on the look out for potential problems. He and his team were originally in my home installing a fireplace, a fire sprinkler pipe burst upstairs and it started raining in the house. This time we hired them to find the leak in the master bath (that was dripping into the ceiling below). They found not one, but 2 leaks and we took that opportunity to completely overhaul the master bath. Ken and his crew once again did a fantastic job. They communicated well and often. There were no last-minute changes to price, and their attention to detail was meticulous. They changed an entryway light for us (2 story vaulted ceilings and impossible for us to do on our own) and expertly problem-solved when the chain was too short. Most importantly, their work didn't end when the last payment was made. They were just as responsive to my request to "tweak just one last thing" as they were at any time previously. We hired Ken Jones after a bad experience with another contractor. We needed a shower pan in our master bathroom replaced. But the first contractor made such a botch of the job that we cancelled the contract with him before the job was finished.. By now, the entire shower stall had to be completely retiled to match all of the existing tilework in the bathroom - not an easy task since the original tilework is 25 years old. Fortunately, we found Ken, and he was willing to take on the job. Ken is a perfectionist, and he pays attention to detail. He was every bit as concerned about the end result as we were. Thanks to Ken and his crew, we now have a beautiful new shower which blends perfectly with the original décor. Ken's crew are skilled craftsmen, but he doesn't leave them to their own devices. It's been 7 weeks since I initially contacted Ken to install 9 Ikea cabinets in my pantry and remove existing cabinets. The layout of the area with measurements and the cabinets I wanted to order were included in the first email. He didn't say if the cabinets would work or not so I could not order until they came out to assess the situation. No response. No response. Four weeks later he sends out his estimator who took my drawing to Home Depot to get an estimate for cabinetry (I'm sure I can get it cheaper). No response. No response...I finally start emailing him to find out about the cabinets and when they are going to come out to install. The estimate for their cabinets was about $2,000 more than what I had sent them. I told them I would go with my cabinets if they thought they worked and asked if I needed to order anything else. No response. No response. Yeah we can install the other cabinets if you have everything ready to go in 12 more days or 19 more days. Hummmm am I at square one 7 weeks later? They haven't told me if the cabinets and dimensions I originally sent them would work so I could order. I'm still waiting for answers to my emails....again and again...If you like to wait for someone to answer your repeat emails or like spending time sending lots of emails to get a response or if your not in any hurry to get things done this year...Good luck! read more

I was super pleased with the work Ken and his crew did for us! We called them for a few tricky electrical projects and they were timely, professional and did an excellent job. Probably the more complicated request was to install the electrical for a fan on our outdoor deck and they did a really clean job, looks great. One thing I really appreciated about their service was their willingness to give advice on a few other projects we were working on ourselves around the house.
