The only time I come by here is to pick up food to take to the Dodgers game. Food at the stadium is pricey so a two item combo meal costing around 12 bucks will feed the two of us. My favorite item is the potato chicken and any other item that's available without having to wait. For the amount of food and the quality I can see why this place stays busy. read more

If you are looking for lots of food this is a place is a great. Quality tho is subpar, so do with that information of what you will. It is a quick, grab and order place. Decent amount of parking. The fried rice is okay. The noodles were so bland. The spicy orange chicken was decent. Not really spicy but the most flavor things from the combo. I order the pepper chicken and I would pass on that in the future. You get all this for about 13 bucks which is a lot of food nowadays but flavor is lacking. I would say this is a meal that you would sauce up for sure. read more

Found this place on Postmates. So good! And good pricing definitely my go to Chinese food spot

Only been here once and the inside was expected from place like this. The ladies that served us were very sweet and the food was good enough for trash Asian food. And I mean trash Asian food in the best possible way. Sometimes you just don't want the authentic stuff. Although the food could've used a little more flavor. Maybe more salt and msg would've done the trick? Just wish the portions were bigger like filled to the brim and more. It was a lot but not overflowing, mold to the container a lot. Will be back but in no rush to return read more

Awesome portions with delicious food. Very friendly service. Would highly recommend! Beats the pants off of pansa express.

The spicy orange chicken is the best I've ever had. The white rice is jasmine rice. I've also had the Mongolian beef, egg rolls and veggie noodles. Everything is delicious. If you go you have to get the spicy orange chicken! read more

Lee and the team at KH Express are literally the best! Ordered catering from them. The party trays are a great value and actually I think 3 large trays (2 entree trays, 1 fried rice or noodle tray) would have been more than enough for our group of 50. But no one complained about taking leftovers, folks loved all the food. Orange Chicken was a hit- stayed nice & crispy with good not too sweet flavor. Broccoli & Beef was more broc then beef, so if you're just getting only 1 meat entree, consider a diff one. Their chicken fried rice & chow mein don't have many veggies but does the job. Lee also let me try some of the mushroom chicken which was pretty delicious - maybe would go that route next time, nice umami, tender & loaded with nicely cooked mushroom & zucchinni. read more

Food is subpar. And workers are extremely pushy and rude. Ignore your request and don't answer the phone when you call. Ordered half half plate spicy orange chicken and beef & broccoli, got no beef & broccoli and got charged for it. read more

I was in the area and noticed this place had good reviews. To my surprise, the food was horrible. The meat had no flavor and was not hot. The noodles and rice had a unique dissatisfying taste that forced me to stop eating after just two attempts. We threw away $31.04 worth of food. Complete waste of money. read more

This is a great place for delicious Affordable Chinese food. Proud to have this place in my neighborhood!

This is the best Chinese food you're gonna get in El Sereno..... which is to say the best americanized gringo chinese food also its one of two chinese restaurants in El Sereno. It slightly edges out Little Beijing on Eastern Ave. If you want real Chinese food you're gonna have to go into ALhambra for better stuff. With that said, it's steam table Chinese food everything is prepped out and in front of you already so just like panda pick whatever you want. I usually get the B combo which is now around $9 for 2 items with rice and chow mein. I usually get the Broccoli Beef and the Orange CHicken. They're gonna give you a generous amount of food. BUt they're tricky cause they're gonna load up the base of the whole foam container with rice and chow mein first then stack the items on top so it looks like you're whole plate is over flowing with stuff but its mostly rice and chow mein. Don't fret, its mostly good greasy chinese fast food. They also have some specialty items that they can cook up for you in the back like wonton soup and bbq fried rice and stuff, those take a little bit of time so make sure you order those first. Will this place win any awards no. But its fast, its mostly fresh (i've never had them give me any old food, but you know if you see some stuff thats been sitting out a bit too long (too brown or mushy looking.... don't get it). They also have boba and thai tea if you looking to go all the way hedonistic with your meal. read more

As I was moving from El Sereno last month, I decided to try as many restaurants around my old place as possible in the last week I lived there. I was surprised to discover K. H China Express was less than a mile from my old place, and was excited to have some Chinese food for the first time in a while. The prices here are quite reasonable, and I opted for combo B, which came with fried rice, chow mein, and two entrees for less than $10. With the check in offer, I received a free drink because I ordered a combo, which came as a soda can of my choice. I really wanted to order the pork with black bean sauce, but they were out so I got the chicken instead. The only other item that looked interesting was the green bean chicken, and I chose that also because I felt I needed to add a little veggie to my plate of fried food. The service was pleasant and the woman who helped me was nice enough. The place is clean and they ask customers to follow directions and stand in marked positions for social distancing. There is no outdoor seating here, or air conditioning, it seems. Unfortunately I didn't really enjoy my food from here. Everything was pretty oily, and nothing had very good or strong flavor. I was expecting the chicken to be a little crunchy, or at least for the green beans to have a snap, but it was all quite mushy and soft. Little variety in texture. I was able to split this meal into two and reheat the second half a couple days later, but honestly I wasn't excited about eating it and it didn't taste better the second time. This place is okay for people who don't really eat a lot of authentic Chinese food and just want a big bang for their buck. Otherwise, I would say, "keep looking, my dude." I'm still on the hunt for my go-to Chinese takeout place... read more

KH China Express - Combo B with chicken with black bean sauce and green bean chicken - Chinese Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I don't know where you can get a quick lunch or dinner for about $11. Let's just say chicken terayaki, chow mein and rice. The chicken is perfect and the combo itself is filling. There are trays of sides that you can pick and I have had about 95% of them. All delicious. The spot is always busy so they run out of trays but don't fret. The cooks in the back are making more, so be patient. Located in a strip mall, there is always parking to grab and go. Not much seating to sit down, but this is called K.H. China Express for a reason. The servers are wonderful and I love supporting any local business. Yes and I recommend and will be back regularly. Stop complaining about the wait because I am a firm believer that 99% of the customers can not go home and whip up a combo like KH China Express and be half as good. Keep on Yelping read more

Wanted to try this place for a quick dinner for a large group while on vacation. The reviews were promising. We did the family meal and added a few appetizers to ensure we had enough food. Overall the food was okay. Nothing special or grand. If you're looking for basic Chinese food this will do. If you want authentic food, I'd try elsewhere. I'd say the best thing was the orange chicken but everything else was just okay. read more

KH China Express - Family Meal - Chinese Near Me - Los Angeles, California

It's not bad. Just don't get the orange chicken. Portions are KH China Express are very generous, so you really do get a bang for your buck. The noodles and broccoli beef were good, but the orange chicken was tough and hard to swallow. I can't even begin to describe the texture beneath the breaded surface. It was fibrous and scratchy to swallow. Even though I love orange chicken everywhere I go, this was a hard pass for me. Also, they didn't serve that sweet duck sauce with the egg rolls! Everything else was good! Super greasy, but that's the best part of discount Chinese food. For two plates (no drinks) it was approx. $20. They charge you 50 cent extra for sauce. The staff could be a little nicer, I felt like the lady was yelling at me when she was asking for my order. Could be a cultural thing? So I'm not going to remove any stars for that. My dad really enjoyed his meal. I got him the king pao chicken and the jalapeño chicken with the chow mein noodles. During peak hours parking is a nightmare in the tiny lot. Could barely squeeze my car into the spot. Would I come here again? Probably not, unless my dad was craving it. He absolutely loved it. read more

My first time here and it was delicious! A combo meal for, I believe, $8.99? It doesn't get better than that. Loved the food. I got the beef & broccoli, cream cheese wontons (tasted sweet, but that's how I like them), spicy orange chicken, fried rice, and chow mein. Service was lovely. They were very accommodating and quick. It gives off local hole in the wall vibes. Definitely recommend. read more

KH China Express - Chow Mein, Beef Broccoli, Spicy Orange Chicken - Chinese Near Me - Los Angeles, California

The food here has great taste, generous portions, and reasonable prices. Now my favorite Chinese food restaurant.

Walk in the lady in the front very nice. Food, I got orange chicken and spicy shrimp. Orange was good and meaty. The spicy shrimp was good, not to salty. Shrimp was cooked just right not over cooked. Chow mein and fried rice good also. For the price and amount of food. Perfect for a lunch meal with a little of leftovers I've had a lot of fast food Chinese places this place is good and authentic. Of course. These are just my opinions. Try it for yourself. read more

What a gem!!! Like Panda Express--except local, independent and better in every way. Less than $10 for a massive plate of food, and the quality is impressive. Chow mein is fantastically savory, Spicy orange chicken is to die for, Veggie egg rolls are crispy and satisfyingly fresh/tangy, And service is SO fast+friendly. We left a tip and they gave us a couple of free cream cheese wontons- yummmm! My wife and I are thrilled to have stumbled in here randomly today (we just happened to be in the area, but will make a point of coming back for more of that deliciousness ASAP). read more

The portions for this spot is very small. Compared to the other Chinese food in the vicinity... Very low to mediocre flavor with terrible portions. Also the middle aged Chinese Woman does not make eye contact and has no manners. This woman seems very stuck up that she is serving undesirable food with terrible portions. Service is -5 rating. Food is -2 rating Portions -5 If you think this spot is good. Go to the spot down the street by the Arco. Your mind will be read more

We had a craving today for some simple scoop style Chinese food. I'm happy to say that K. H China Express didn't disappoint. Sometimes you just want a styrofoam container bursting at the seams with orange chicken and chow mein. No frills, simple, and satisfying. Just a small takeaway place with fresh food and great service. The gentleman behind the counter was polite and helpful. He didn't just heave food onto the plates and took care not to have random bits of food hanging out of the container. We got the following with our B combos (2 item and 2 sides for under $10 per combo): 1/2 chow mein and 1/2 fried rice Orange chicken Spicy orange chicken Mushroom chicken Green bean chicken The orange chicken was not too sweet and, for the spicy one, just enough kick to differentiate it from the regular orange chicken. I was deciding between the green bean chicken of the jalapeno chicken, but glad that I picked the green bean. The mushroom chicken I did not try, but heard good things about it ranging from "I'm glad I got this" to "this is nice". Everything was cooked well, fresh tasting, and not dry or greasy. The chow mein and fried rice were pretty standard fare and slightly under seasoned, but did allow the entree's to really shine. I'd say what set their sides apart from most other places is that they weren't greasy and didn't leave you regretting your life choices after putting the fork down. All in all, we'll definitely be going back. If you're craving Panda Express or something similar, I suggest supporting local, saving a few bucks, and getting more for your money. read more

I LOVEEE this place, suoer good food, super nice workers, and its actually affordable! Ive been going here since I was 12, i swear it just keeps getting better and better the more i go, Even the thai tea with boba is huge and cheap! K.H China Express saved our event from being a disaster. The original caterer failed badly by forgetting the date of our event. We discovered this at around 11 am the day of the party. Imagine the embarrassment of telling all your guests that we don't have any food for the gathering. We were desperate and called K.H China Express last minute at 11:10 am and said, help!! Can you make a few party trays in less than an hour for our party? She said Okay, okay, we can do it!! Long story short, K.H China Express made several super-large party trays for about 50 plus people in less than an hour!! The chow mien, fried rice, shrimp chop suey, orange chicken, beef & broccoli, and mushroom chicken were a hit with the guests. I can't believe how big the trays were for the price we paid. There was so much food that everybody was able to take home food as well. It's a great deal! Thank you, K.H China Express, for saving our event from being an embarrassment! read more

Ordered through Uber eats and was SUPER impressed with the combo. They packed that little box like no one's business. The shrimp upgrade was worth the extra dollar and was the star of the show. I definitely recommend ordering from them if you're craving Chinese American fast food. My only critiques are that the cream cheese wontons are SO sweet. It's kind of bizzare. They taste like a desert almost. Also the hot and sour soup is not at all worth it. It just tastes like soy sauce flavored starchy broth with some egg thrown in. No sourness, spice, or complexity that I usually get from most other places. read more

Gotten delivery a few times, great pricing. Hot and sour soup is SO good probably my favorite thing I've tried from here

On September 1st, my family and I ordered food, and we took it home to eat. After eating the food, we were hit with vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. Just like a similar review posted on here, my mother in law, brother in law and I ended up in the emergency room. It is very similar to the other Yelp review from Lily R. We, too, called the restaurant and told them what was happening, and we too were told by the person on the phone, "we don't know anything," and they hung up after that. I, too, reported it to the health department, and they followed up and took a report from all our family members and would get a follow-up call once they investigate further. read more

It's ok. It's cheap and the portions are HUGE. If you're looking for a hole in the wall Chinese spot, this is it. It's not bad for what it is. No complaints. Its no Panda Express, but you'll find most of the items they offer here too. It's a local spot in El Serrano and it's less than a mile from my home. If you're looking for better Chinese, you'll find Oak Tree Inn restaurant located in South Pas. However, you'll be paying top dollar for it. K. H China Express is fast food. Come in and get out. It's perfect when you're on the go and want to grab something for the family on a budget. It's located in a plaza next to a donut shop. There's also a Domino's Pizza inside. There's a lot where you'll find parking and since you won't be there long, you'll be able to make a quick trip. read more
