When I was purchasing the car I was told that it would be sold to me for a great price of 450 a month for 39 months. When my lease was ending and I went to return the car I found out they switched the numbers and actually made my lease 44 months instead. Yes, this is my fault for not checking the contracts before signing but I recommend to others to watch out and not make the same mistake or to be completely safe head to another dealership where you can find more trustworthy salespeople. read more

Went into the dealership in the evening with my girlfriend. She looked at the Lexus NX200t then they switched her to a used SUV at her request hoping to get a better deal? They showed me the black Mercedes GLK 350 and the Carfax showing the car was never in an accident. I said that the car was in an accident. They denied it and stuck the carfax in my face (not literally). Anyhow, within in two minutes I showed them where the car had been hit in the front. The sales guy looked in disbelief and said it was a clean car with a clean car fax. I then said watch this, lift up the rear hatch section of the tailgate and examined where the rear quarter panel had been removed and spot welded. It's very difficult to get them to match perfectly without it being noticeable. I then felt around the rear wheel weld to see where the two panels were joined and welded. So we left the dealership knowing that the car had been in a severe accident more than one time and Keyes Lexus was selling this repaired car on their lot as a clean car with a clean CarFax. Geez... How crooked can you be. Next time don't waste my time with your shenanigans. Appalling that they would mislead the general public and defraud an unknowing buyer. read more

This dealership is sketchy. I bought a new car, and they only had LEXUS chrome wheels on the Ct200H I test drove that night. Fast forward 1 year later, and a tire starts to have a slow leak... turns out to be the wheels corroding from "excessive moisture and corrosion". I live and work in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. After 3 years, another wheel develops same problem. Dealership says that is not covered under warranty, as it is not a previous issue with THAT wheel. Called Lexus, I was told that that is NOT a Lexus part, that the dealer put aftermarket wheels on. (with a Lexus logo, and wheels that look exactly like the other cars sold). Dealership offers to give me 10% off of the repair - which I was told would cost over $1000 PER WHEEL and that they don't last long and would all need to be replaced eventually. Crooks. read more

I looked to buy a car here, but the salespeople were so clueless that I decided to buy my car at the Lexus dealer in Cerritos. I figured that at least I could go here to get service. In the past 4 years I have nothing but problems, over-recommendations on services I dont need, and very poor customer service. (Isnt Lexus known for exceptional service?) It was bad the first year, but I thought that I was being too harsh so I kept going. Bad mistake. There is nothing good I can say about this place. I am willing to make the extra drive to go to any other Lexus dealer but this one. (And by the way, Im not one to complain on a site like this without talking to the management first. Been a few times for service, only because I have free service included in my lease. Friendly staff and great waiting room, but be wary of the "recommendations" that would find their way into the depths of your pockets! I obviously don't need a $150 alignment, but both times I went for an oil change the service peeps suggested I get one. I'm sure if someone didn't know any better, they'd fork out the cash without thinking twice. I leased my ride there as well, and I'm sure would have been put through the ringer if I hadn't done my research online first. As far as the purchase part goes, would I return for future biz with Keyes? Sure, given they would offer me the best deal. When it comes to car buying/ leasing, don't hesitate to play dealerships against each other to get the best deal, and NEVER feel bad for them, because they definately don't feel bad for you! read more

I dropped by last minute today without an appointment to the Service Department. I was told it would take 1.5 hours & was disappointed to hear that but reazlied I couldn't expect to drop by and not have to wait. I had accidentally drained the batteries 2 weeks ago (and then the maintenance required light came on). I read through the manual and figured out how to reset some things that had be set to default when the battery was re-jumped so I didn't think anything of the maintenance light. But the car was acting funny today so I didn't think I should chance it. Turns out it was a nail in one of the tires! I agree $135 for a maintenance (which boils down to an oil change) is overpriced but the AAA guy who jumped our car told us it's tons of different computer components that make the car run so they have to check each of them. And the man who helped us said he wouldn't charge us for fixing the nail (that's enough to make me come back again! Just the effort!) Aside from not appreciating the high price for the maintenace, I appreciated the nice cafe with free sodas/bottled water/espresso machine/cookies/fruit, the lounge area, t.v.s, and the overall look/feel and newness of the place. I was able to entertain my toddler with Yo Gabba Gabba videos on YouTube thanks to the comptuers they have available to surf and kill time. I guess ultimately I was happy with my service and know the price would be high whatever dealership you go to. If I have good service next time, then I'll know it wasn'ta fluke for a first-time customer. read more

As the lease on my current Lexus SUV (which I got from Keyes Lexus) expires next month, I came in Keys to get information about about leasing a new one. My experience was so poor, I have decided to get my new SUV from another dealership. Even though I was clear about my intention of gathering info today so I could discuss it tonight with my finacee (who is the one that uses the SUV), it felt like too much energy about pressuring me to make a decision on the spot. I also expressed interest in the possibility of waiting to until the new model of the SUV comes out later this year. Instead of offering me a reasonable conversation about that, I felt nothing but push back and being dismissive of that option. When I asked for facts about the differences between the current model and the upcoming model, I received differing information from the salesman and the person discussing the financing. Same is true when asking for a guesstimate of when the new model would be available. The conversation kept switching to making a decision right now vs. exploring all the options I was interested in discussing. When they finally did show me some figures I reviewed them and asked them for a copy so I could take it home to discuss with my finacee. They said they could not give me the printout (with no explanation of why). But they did promise to write them down (again, no explanation of why a printout is different than a handwritten copy of the same info). I agreed to wait for that info. I waited and waited. After about 15 minutes of being left alone in the office awaiting a handwritten copy of the same info they had already shown me a printed copy, I decided to leave. When leaving, I walked past a number of employees standing around awaiting customers, so the excuse of being "too busy" to get back with me would not apply. Keyes clearly run a successful business. Their style may very well work for other customers. But after already getting an SUV from Keyes and returning to get a new one, I expected a different form of treatment. I was referred by a friend and heard good things about this place. Long story short, I had a terrible experience. I dealt with Mahsa, she was excellent and had great customer service but when we started dealing with her manager everything changed. Pulling crazy numbers without even running my credit. 800/month to lease an is200t for 48 months with 28,000 residual. I thought that was ridiculous and it didn't make sense. Definitely lost business from me and my family. Update: The manager is a LIAR. They did pull my credit and he looked me straight in my eyes and said that he didn't. I even asked for a copy of my credit report at the time of my visit and Mahsa and her manager said that they didn't submit my application yet and that even if they did, they're not allowed to give me a copy of my credit report. This isn't my first time at a dealership. It is my right to be able to get a copy of that credit report. Every single dealership I've been to will gladly give me a copy so that it wouldn't be pulled multiple times. I'm a serious buyer and will definitely be looking elsewhere. I highly suggest for other people to look elsewhere because the service at KEYES LEXUS OF VAN NUYS is just downright terrible. read more

Maybe they have a standard of excellence with everyone but my wife and I truly felt like we were given VIP treatment throughout the process. From the outset of my first inquiry about a few cars on their lot to the test drive and final purchase, they were honest, professional, and overall nice fellows to work with. As a team, they kept their promises to me and my wife regarding the best possible deals and immediately fixed a small computer glitch in my console. My car is working perfectly now and feels brand new. I hate that this is the closest dealership to my house. The 1 star on here is for shanecia in service who helped me with my first oil change, otherwise it would be 0 stars. I already had a bad taste in my mouth from the sales department, if you want to know about it read my last review. Anyways 2 weeks ago I came in because a nail got in my tire & I needed to patch it. The minute I said I wanted to patch it the guy said there's no point of you staying here if you're not going to buy a tire & just want a patch because we're not going to patch it here. I had questions about it and I felt brushed off just because I said I didn't want to buy a tire. There's a way to communicate to people and make sure that even though you can't provide that service there the customer still leaves with a better understanding of the situation. 2 days ago the whole navi/Bluetooth/cam system/radio stopped working & just started rebooting itself. I call Keyes Lexus about 10 times today & get a busy tone. I tried a few more times after work & finally get an answer. The receptionists who answered was completely rude. I ask her if her phone is working & she replies with yes, would you like to speak with service? I said yes but I called 10 times today & nobody was answering so I was wondering why. No answer from her, she just transferred me without even saying please hold or anything. I finally get to talk to service & they tell me it's a nationwide glitch & I would need to come in mon-fri 8:30-5. I work a mon -fri job those hours & can't come in so I asked if I can come Saturday. She says no that there's no tech & I can only make an appointment those days. I'm sorry but I'm not gonna take a day off work for a nationwide glitch that wasn't my fault & I highly doubt you'll pay for my day off from work. & the fact that you're understaffed on weekends sounds like a company problem not a customer problem. The fact that she didn't even try do anything to solve the issue is what concerned me. Any suggestions would've been appreciated, instead I felt she was trying to get rid of me & just have me figure it out on my own. She could've said I'm sorry for the inconvenience but let me check if another dealership nearby can do it when your available or said let me check with our techs and see if there's another way we can resolve your issue, but NO, complete silence. I quickly hung up & called another Lexus dealership who was apologetic about the inconvenience and said I can just drop by whenever I'm free & they'll have me in and out within 10 minutes. I don't know why it's so hard to get good customer service out of this place! It's literally like pulling teeth. I used to bring all my lexus cars here for service even if I purchased my lexus cars to different dealership since I really trust this dealership "BEFORE". I have 2015 LS Crafted Line which was serviced by keyes lexus last December and I seldom use the car. When I back up the car today I have notice that I have an oil leak dripping on my garage floor. The mileage is only 7k plus. It seems that the service department is having issues and incompetency. This car is the lexus flagship and I don't even know why they would even have to neglect this kind issue. I will definitely complain to the corporate office for their poor service. Bad news. This dealership sold me a certified preowned vehicle that had been in an major accident (according to my mechanic) without disclosing that information to me before the sale. Though they took it back, the whole experience dealing with this place and its sales staff was a nightmare. All that said, don't confuse Keyes Lexus of Van Nuys with Keyes Lexus of Valencia. The Valencia dealership is terrific--on both the sales and service side. I only wish I could give the Van Nuy's shop less than one star. read more

Here goes another negative review of a dealership that should teach all others on how NOT to do business. When I was buying my car few years ago this was the first dealership I came by (the closest to my house). I already knew exactly what car I wanted and with what options and already researched prices, so I knew exactly what I needed and how much I was willing to pay. First a salesperson wouldn't let me test drive a car, as he wanted to talk about a deal firs. Ok, fine. since I was prepared I agreed (and I drove the same car that a friend of mine has). After about 5 minutes of price discussion I was pretty much thrown out of the dealership for daring to bring up CarsDirect prices. He told me that any respected customer wouldn't ever buy a car online and since I considered doing that I should just leave. We got in a car, drove to Vista Lexus and bought a car there the same day. Somehow they didn't feel threatened by CarsDirect. Since this was the closest dealership to where I live I took my car to Keys for maintenance. Well going through all the records few month ago I discovered that every time I brought my car they overcharged me for service by overselling things that didn't need to be done, things not recommended by Lexus as a regular maintenance. I admit I don't know much about car service and always learned to trust people I do business with. Well a service 'adviser' at Keys Lexus definitely took advantage of it. I've been trying to contact their service director and after almost two months I still haven't heard back from him with any proposed resolution to my problem. I've been bringing my IS250 here since it was new (2008) to be serviced just because it was the closest dealer to my house. For the past 5 years I have never left the service department with just an oil change. There was always something else that needed to be replaced and on the average I would spend at the very least $500 to $1000 every time. I have since moved to South Pasadena and now go to the Glendale Lexus dealer for service and have gotten out with just the the oil changes for the last 2 visits. This is my first review for a car dealership and it's for Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys. I was initially skeptical about how my experience will be, especially after having read the negative feedback. I felt the need to write and share my excellent experience with my recent purchase of the NX 350H and the person who deserves full credit for this 5-start review is Ben Safavi, Internet Manager. Ben was upfront with me right from the start, he was honest with his offer, and most important of all, he kept his word. I do believe that a customer needs to know exactly what he/she wants e.g. car model, package type, etc. in order to make the sales transaction smooth and fast. Right from the start, I was transparent with the car, color (both interior and exterior), package type, and budget; I shared all these with Ben at the initial point of contact and stressed that I'm a serious buyer, whose goal is to experience a smooth and fast sales transaction. Ben delivered all these, very nicely and honestly, right from the start. He's prompt in his responses, courteous and patient. My husband joked about having the big red bow and Ben delivered this request: we could not take the bow home but he took it off another showroom car and placed it on my new car so we could take pictures...such a wonderful extra mile to go! I'm so thrilled to have bought my third car in five years from a Keyes dealership. It's nice to buy from a professional and reputable entity and one that cares about doing the right thing. Jeff Palayan was my salesman in the Internet department. He is a true customer advocate, truly respectful, and did not push me into making a decision right then and there. Not only that, he is amazing at figuring out the numbers right there with you with you, without the usual interminable wait for finding out what the car is going to cost. He shows everything to you, is remarkably responsive, gives you a phenomenal deal from the beginning, and advocates for your case to management without you even needing to ask. Working with him really feels like he wants a win-win between you and the dealership, and that's rare when shopping for a car. Iris in finance processed my paperwork in the most professional manner that I have experienced in the almost 30 years that I have been buying cars. She took the time to patiently take me through each element of what I was signing, including the lease, so for the first time ever I did not feel the need to slowly read the lease when I got home. She is really concerned about the customer experience, and I appreciate being treated in such a way. Finally, I had the opportunity to work somewhat with Kalei Dudiot, the new general manager. Buying a car always seems like a stressful thing because all you can imagine is pulling in to a parking space at dealership, then a bunch of hungry salespeople sizing you up, and then here he/she comes, always so nice and helpful and all they want is your money. Probably not supposed to name names but how else can this review be of benefit to anyone if I don't. Here's the story. I started off by using Costco as they have a no haggle below invoice deal. Great, so I went to go pick up a RX350 white w/ black interior, and guess what, they take off $xxx for Costco discount then add on $xxx + $200 for some fee I've never heard of and probably invented. So I left. I then emailed Keyes (LeeAnn) with the deal that I thought it was going to be and they said sure come on in. So I'm thinking OK here it comes again. But I go anyway. The dealership is very nice, clean, drinks, cookies, crowded, but relaxing and plenty of seating areas. LeeAnn greets me and takes me to go see some cars outside in the sunlight. Having a large inventory is great. We get to see every possible color and interior in real life. We choose the perfect RX350 just the way we like it. Next step, "The Room". This is where we all end up. Fill in a credit report app so they can figure out what financing you qualify for. Sometime later the "Manager" Sam walks in. I'm thinking ok here we go again. Expecting to see a high price so we can haggle back and forth, he says we said agreed to this over email, and here it is. No BS fees, nothing added on, no tricks, just my target price. At this point I'm thinking OK, they'll give it too me in the Finance Office. So after a pretty long wait, (my only negative so far) This really nice and mellow looking person comes out named Yanci, and we go back to her office to talk numbers. She's super nice, funny, and non threatening. We go through the contract and numbers and all I hear in my head is "wait for it.....wait for it.... thinking when will she give me the hard press for extended warranty, and make me feel stupid for not choosing that and all the other 10 options. But she just softly and professionally showed me a piece of paper and explained what the options are. no pressure, not confrontation. Finish paperwork, and it was anti-climatic. I was all wound up waiting for the part where we argue and haggle and pretend to leave. Never happened. It turned out to be an enjoyable car purchase and I look forward to my first service. My purchasing and first complimentary 5,000 mile appointment were fantastic for my 2015 Lexus NX (hence the 5-stars). Unfortunately, my 10,000 mile appointment was a disaster. After returning home, I noticed that the contents of my glove compartment were a mess and that it did not close properly. After calling the dealer, they asked me to come back in (I live 30 min away w/ traffic) and it took them a minute to fix it because one of the hooks wasn't strapped properly. 1) Wouldn't you put the contents back the way they were, and why did you have to open it in the first place? and 2) Wouldn't you check if it closed properly before returning the car back to me? I also called the service department to speak with a manager about this, left a voicemail, and received no call back. Great customer service... Okay, good, fixed, right? No, the next day, my maintenance light comes on and it stated I needed to visit my dealer (again). I called them and they said I had to come back in (this is the third time in the last 24 hours) and they said it was because they forgot to reset the oil maintenance reminder. After coming in, they reset the oil reminder, but then it comes back on shortly after I started driving away. I come back, and they had two other mechanics look at it to try and reset the service light and finally they did it...because apparently there are two separate reminders that needed to be rest (oil and service). If you're servicing hundreds of cars on a monthly basis, and are experienced Lexus reps, wouldn't this be known already? Why did it take so long to figure out how to reset a reminder and not waste a customer's time returning? On a separate but related note, I wanted to test drive the GS-F while my car was getting serviced and was told by the rep that they had to run my credit report. Really? Is that allowed? I purchased my car from this dealer a year ago, so you should know that info already. I was told my score changes every month (I didn't need to be told that) so I opted to test drive the GS 350 instead. Tell me why I knew more about the car than the sales rep did. And when we passed by a BMW dealership, the Lexus rep pointed out a car and said how nice it was. Are you a BMW mole?!? After receiving a follow up call from someone else, they informed me that the sales rep was new, but that shouldn't be a reason for a poor experience, even if they knew I wasn't an active buyer (but I really am interested in the GS, maybe in 2-3 years). I used to love Keyes Lexus based on my initial experience, but this latest one left a sour taste in my mouth. I'll likely take my car to get serviced elsewhere. read more

This review is somewhat late. I leased my Lexus last October from Keyes Lexus. John Kim was the salesperson who helped me out. Everything about him and this dealership were great. Definitely recommend him to anyone who might be interested in a Lexus! I was initially a little skeptical of the prices he gave me and tried to shop around. None of the other places, including Longo Lexus, was even able to come close to the prices Keyes Lexus offered me for the exact same car model with same options and color, with the only difference being the VIN number itself. Longo gave me a bunch of crap about how the color is in demand bla bla bla and wanted a premium because of that, even though they had 3 of those cars in stock. To top it off, Keyes even gave me 12k miles (instead of 10k) annually and free service (at Keyes locations)! read more

A pleasant sales person greeted me in the parking lot. I said I wanted a new 2015 ES 300 H. He said, "no way, no one has those cars anymore. No one in the southern region has a new 2015 model." So I asked why did I get an email from the dealership promoting a special event/sale on 2015 leases. The answer, I am too late. No one has a 2015 model...2016s are in. Untrue. There are plenty of 2015s in Glendale, Santa Monica etc. Why would you make up such a thing? I looked up Glendale's inventory and established contact with a salesperson there via my phone while sitting in VNuys dealership. read more

I agree with the other horrible reviews. I wish I had not leased my Lexus through Keyes. This was a serious mistake and I can't wait for my lease to be over. I have had nothing but problems with my brand new car. The service department lies and they are unhelpful. I also had several issues with the car salesman but that review will have to wait. The first problem was that my lock was malfunctioning. I couldn't enter the car from the driver's door and had to crawl in through the passenger side! Lexus didn't seem to think that was an issue and told me they wouldn't "spend the money to fix the lock". After filing many complaints (too many to count) over the course of a month of crawling through the passenger door, they finally agreed to fix the lock. The latest problem is that the navigation upgrade has caused my nav and radio to continue to turn on and off every five seconds. None of the controls function either. I didn't realize this was a nationwide problem. I brought my car in today. The man in service department directing intake of cars explained they know about the problem, it is nationwide, but there is nothing they can do at this point. They are waiting for headquarters. They said they will notify me once they figure out how to solve the problem. They sent me home. When I got home I looked up the problem and I found, "The automaker said owners experiencing the issue should visit their dealer for a system reset..." I called Keyes Lexus right away and asked why I was LIED to and that a solution had already been found at least 9 hours prior (according the website). They told me the reason I was lied to was because they had too many cars that they were already fixing and they were too busy! Is this company for real? Do they really think that is an acceptable response? So now I will be going on three days will no functioning controls on my car when all they had to do what a simple reboot! Do not go to Keyes Lexus. You will sadly regret it. read more
