As with any dealership you can expect scumbag sales people. To my surprise the sales rep that helped us was very kind, patient, and seemed pretty honest. However... the manager John was a complete douche. Extremely arrogant and cocky-unwilling to help and of course he used the "it's not personal it's just business" literally the worse sales catch phrase in the history of sales lol. We took the car anyway...I think we got a decent deal however John's attitude really makes this place look bad, his lack of customer service almost had us walk out luckily the salesperson was the complete opposite and won us over. I'm genuinely shocked at how dishonest and misleading the management at Keyes Lexus of Van Nuys turned out to be. We went in yesterday and worked with Adnan, who was absolutely wonderful -- this review is NOT about him. The problem started the moment we sat with the manager to discuss "out-the-door" pricing. Anyone who has ever bought a car knows that OTD means the final total -- tax, fees, everything included. The manager took a long time and finally presented a number. We felt it was too far apart, so we left. Later that day, we reconsidered and decided we could make that number work. We called back, said we'd bring a check in the morning, and were willing even to sign paperwork that night. Suddenly, they claimed the price did NOT include tax. That is flat-out deceptive. Every dealership on earth knows what "out-the-door" means. Changing the terms after the fact is manipulative, unprofessional, and a complete waste of a buyer's time. Came to this dealership based on an add on the internet for two certified Lexus cars. The first car had damage to the rims. The driver side rear rim had a bend in it. I think this particular tire was on the right front and the past owner struck a curb at some speed to bend the rim. A couple of the other rims had road rash. We moved on to another Lexus and liked it. When we got to financing and the price of the car was $3000 more than advertised due to some special invisible paint protection that was added. After refusing to pay this the dealer agreed to cut the price down by $2000 and brought out some hokey receipt showing that the actually spent $1000 and used special invisible protection substance to keep the car prestige. Walk away from this dump of a dealership they are dishonest. Did I mention that after telling em I was going to pay cash they insisted on running credit cause they have too? Just because? read more

Went today 09/02/24 as soon as they opened because we were in the market for an IS 300 F Sport/F Sport Design AWD. Timothy G greeted us promptly and pulled up an IS 300 RWD for us to check out. Everything started well until we got to talk to him more. 1) I told him what we were looking for and mockingly asked us what we need an AWD in California for. Proceeded to say that in Chicago we're he's from, that's where you need an AWD. Sure, whatever. 2) We had some questions as there were confusions about the differences between F Sport and F Sport Design. He told me IS 300 does not come in F Sport. I clarified because the Lexus website says otherwise. He rudely told us "well I don't go by the website" umm sure. But the website is what customers mainly use as a reference so understandably there will be confusion. 3) The white car that he had us look at says IS 300 F Sport on the sticker. The manager (?) (who Timothy grabbed) told us it was actually an F Sport Design. At this point we havent received any clear info as to what the differences are. When we asked more questions, we were told we were overcomplicating things. Well buying a car is complicated. And we're talking about buying a car that is almost 50 grand, of course we will ask questions. This really turned us off so we left and I'm glad we did. We ended up buying a car from Lexus Beverly Hills which had the best service and we got the car we wanted the same day. read more

The falsely advertised the price of the car and then when we got there, they would not sell the car without adding on $3,000 worth of dealer add-ons like paint protection. They insisted that all the add-ons were already added to the car and could not be removed. They falsely inflated the fair market value of the car and would not sell the car at the advertised price unless we financed with them. They are deceptive in their sales practices and outright lie to the customer. I have filed a formal complaint to the California DMV Investigations Division to try to get them to stop these deceitful practices with customers. I came into Keys Lexus after seeing a pretty great deal on Autotrader. A 2019 RX for. $25k, so I figured why not pop in and check it out. When we got there, the car had a sticker price of $32k, I was a little confused, but figured maybe it had been on the lot for a minute ( it had been there a month). I test drove the car (it reeked of cigarettes, high mileage, gap in service) and the sales rep asked what it would take to take the car. I said "$20K" and we started negotiating. Then the sales manager came in to tell me that no one would ever come in for that car at the $32k price, so that put it online at $25k to bring people in (uh, okay so you're telling me that car isn't worth the sticker price..) and then proceeded to explain to me how people search by lowest price first... When I offered a lower price (again, I'm going off online, so I figure you can handle from there..) he basically tells me I'm insane and if I can find that price elsewhere he will pay me $1000.... It was really condescending and I felt like I was being lectured by someone's father. First off let me say, I should have not trusted the "Lexus Certified" as this car was listed and looked over the car closely and gone in daylight instead of towards the evening. Carfax showed minor repair on driver fender which I was ok with. After taking possession of the car, the next morning looking over the car, rear bumper and trunk lid were touched up using single stage paint, this car has 3 stage paint, big difference. Took it to the auto body to have this corrected, only to discover the hood, driver door and the fender had been repainted, orange peel all over the hood. This in total cost me close to $3k to repair myself. Second was the add ons to the price totaling close to $3k, nitrogen filled tires $900. Paint protection $900. and another $900 for some other bs. All inflated prices that I would have never expect from a Lexus Dealership, mom and pop maybe. I've purchased 4 cars in the past 3 years none of the dealers had such tag ons. Financing was also deceiving, with a 780 credit score they quoted me rate of 7.5%. When I was pre-approved by another bank for 5%. They offered a rate of 5.3% if I purchased their maintenance plan, unfortunately my parents agreed to this deal. NEVER trust a certified car, at least at this dealership that say "Lexus Certified" the 160 point inspection they claim to do which includes the exterior of the car is all BS. This was the second car I purchased from this dealer first was brand new so no issues, but will never go back, as this place really left a sour taste in my mouth. Very deceitful in all areas. When I called them all they offered was to bring the car in to get polished. read more

I dropped off my vehicle for routine service appointment at 9am. This was for oil and tires. By 230 I was getting impatient and went back to check the status. It took them another hour to finish. The expected up-charges for things I didn't need like an AC filter were of course declined. The new coffee lounge is pretty good. I recently went to Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys after seeing a car that I wanted online. I was able to get connected to sales rep Raymond. I don't live anywhere close to Van Nuys and I made Raymond aware of this. He did a great job making sure we could discuss details of my desired car purchase without me having to physically be there. As the process went on, he did all he could with talking to his management team to set up the best date for me to come in. He always replied to my phone calls or text messages. When I did come in he had the car in the front of the building and ready for me to test drive upon my arrival. I ended up purchasing and I didn't have to stay in the dealership for hours on end thanks to the preparation Raymond did beforehand. Thank you! Do your research before buying a car from Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys. I made the mistake of not doing that before I bought my car there. They lied, cheated, and ripped me off with the first car. I tried hard to work out a good deal with them and thought that I had, but once I read over my contract the next day, I saw that I was charged almost $30,000 (once paid off in 4 years) more than what the car was advertised at (on the sticker). I called to cancel the contract and stop them from cashing my down payment check. A manager called me back, and we were able to work out a better deal with a different car. Now, after all that, I found out that my salesperson lied to me about my credit score. He told me that my credit score was 690, which surprised me because I thought it would be higher than that. Well, soon after I discovered that my credit score really is higher, quite a bit higher. I received a confirmation letter in the mail from the company that ran my credit (Experian), with proof that my credit score is really 801, NOT 690. It's disgusting how they can lie and take advantage of people so easily like that. I will never recommend Keyes Lexus to anyone, and I will never do business with Keyes Lexus ever again. read more
