This review is specifically for Chris Ward, who is one of the members of the internet sales team. Car buying/leasing can be a stressful experience and dealing with auto sales people can be less than pleasant depending on their sales tactics and how aggressive they are. Chris's customer service was excellent. He was thorough, direct, genuine and transparent. He also seemed honest (contrary to my experience with a couple dishonest sales people at Keyes Audi in Van Nuys) and won my trust, which is the most important thing a sales person can do. He was great with follow ups (but not in an aggressive way) when I was still deciding what to do. He maintained a great positive attitude throughout the whole process, which shaped my experience into a positive one as well. Took my car in 2 times none of the times did they clean my car they send it back dirty. When I called them they kept hanging up the phone. Not a dealership. I sent it for oil change they told me they would call me as soon as it's ready. Nobody called or texted me until I called and texted multiple times. Serviced my car here for my 5k mileage check up. This was my first visit here, as I switched over to Lexus from BMW. My advisor, Anthony, was excellent and helpful. This dealership's internet sales department is a joke. I drove over 2 hours in traffic to come check a vehicle out at this store and it was the worst decision I ever made. I was originally dealing with Gabriel from the internet sales department who was extremely helpful, during the negotiation process he had his manager by the name of 'SAM' come in and try to help negotiate the deal. Bad choice. Sam came in and began asking extremely rude questions like 'that's a high payment, can you even afford that' and 'your car isn't worth anything, even if I gave you more than you owe this Lexus isn't the car for you' After showing my disgust with him he still continued to run his mouth stating 'You need to look at a different much cheaper car' I wouldn't ever return to this dealer, worst customer service ever. After I first spoke to him on the phone, he texted me the photos of the car and it was exactly what I was looking for! Cloudburst grey with light interior! To anyone considering going to Keys Lexus in Van Nuys, you must read this first. I have been dealing with incompetent, lying, and just a not my problem attitude type of employees since I signed my contract. First, a simple mistake where I was overcharged only $150.00, took three months of me having to call, and follow up in person until finally I was paid back. Then, there was an issue with my car. It would lock itself. This made thing very difficult, and it looked like I was trying to break into my own car. I sent them videos, I left the car with them for days. Their response was we can't duplicate the problem, and per our policy, there's nothing we can do. Thanks, I get a brand new car I have to hope will allow me in. When my leases was up, there was a charge to return the car. this was "told to me" it would be waived because of all all the time the car spent in the shop, and for my incontinence. A year later, my nightmare experience with Keys returned in collection calls. I should not surprised that the charge was not waved. I try to stay positive, but the only positive thing I can see is if someone reads this, and it saves them from Keys Lexus. read more

I have been a Keyes customer for five years and was relatively satisfied with the interactions I had in that time.... until it came to my lease turn-in (I have now gone car free and was not entering into another lease with them). I knew I would not be in Los Angeles at the time of my lease turn-in, so I needed to be proactive and ensure I had everything in place for someone else to do the turn-in for me. I called Keyes MONTHS in advance to ask about the protocol for someone else turning in my lease. I was told that I'd need to call the week prior to schedule an appointment and that it would be no problem to have someone else there in place of me. Fast forward to the week prior to my turn-in... I call to make an appointment and am told by the receptionist I don't need an appointment. I then ask to speak with someone to double check that someone else turning in my lease won't be an issue. I spoke with a man who identified himself as Alex (he spoke with a bit of a slur and I kept having to ask him to repeat himself). I was told that as long as the person turning in the lease had a copy of my drivers license on him, there would be no issue and he would be fine to turn-in my car in place of me. The day of the lease turn-in, I receive a call from my friend indicating that he is not allowed to turn-in my lease. I ask to speak with Alex and am connected to a different Alex. I explain exactly what I was told and his response was that I should have known better, it wasn't his problem (it was mine) and that they would not accept the car back. I was incredibly upset because this information should have been communicated to me upon my first inquiry months ago. I pressed him to find a solution to a problem that only existed due to his employees miscommunications and lack of knowledge. Alex then handed the phone back to my friend, made a remark about how rude I was and refused to further communicate with me. So, there I am - across the country, facing a problem that should not have even been a problem in the first place (not to mention, was not a problem caused by me, but rather by the employees of Keyes Lexus), with a manager who was unwilling to help me because I told him that his employees made a mistake. Thankfully my friend was able to get some answers and we dealt directly with Lexus Financial... But I was so disgusted by not only being given misinformation, but then being shamed by a manager who was then unwilling to help me - all because his employees had misguided me. If I ever get a car again, I will be avoiding Keyes like the plague. And I'll be letting all my friends + network know to avoid them as well. Also, be very careful and vigilant if you are entering into a subsequent lease with them - there is a very good possibility that when they incentivize you to end your lease early and get into a new lease, then tell you they'll "take care" of the remainder of the payments on your prior lease.... they will just end up adding the amount into your new lease. I brought a used 2016 white RX 350 from Keyes Lexus on 01/14. It was at night so I couldn't notice it had many paint damage on the edge of the doors because the dealer had covered it up with cheap touch up paint. The car is White which made it even harder to tell. Also, the car had ant problem that I didn't noticed because it was dark and the interior was black. The sales guy told me "Yeah, most likely they had parked under a tree and the ants are just outside." I had so much ants inside the car for weeks, I had to "bug bomb" the entire car. Back to my story, when I brought the car home I noticed paint damage and ant problem is unacceptable. The next day I called up my sales guy, he told me they will fix it with no hesitations. At first, I thought that was a good thing. So I drove an hour and left my car with them. When I came back to get my car, they only had washed my car. Nothing was fixed, the paint damage was left untouched and there were still ants inside my car. I talked with my sales guy and he said their detail department couldn't fix it but they did vacuum some ants. Total waste of my time. 2 hours of driving plus traffic plus time taken off work to get a car wash! I spend 40K to buy a Lexus! I don't think this is acceptable for anyone. I was so fed up with their lies and excuses, I just left. This dealership has massive negligence for their service to their customers. Think twice before you planning to make a purchase from them. I have been looking for a used Lexus for a few months now. I found one on the web for Keyes and they were fantastic to work with on the purchase of the car. I reached Ehsan Aryana by phone when I initially contacted the dealer about 1-2 weeks ago. He provided an overview of the car and shared that it was in service to be readied for sale. He sent me the details of the options on the car so I could compare it with the other cars I was considering. A week later, per his commitment, he texted me to let me know the car was coming out of service that day and would be available to me to come see it. I am in San Jose, not Van Nuys. He was a 10 in serving as my remote set of eyes and ears. He went through the car for me and took additional photos. He helped me with financing so I could secure the car until I could fly down to see/drive and take the car home. He was patient and made good on every commitment he made to me. He was clear that there was no deposit possible and that sales were first come first served so we ended up with the purchase and financing. Once I arrived at the dealer, I was greeted promptly. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Ehsan had everything ready for me. The Finance Manager, John, was also prepared and took care of any last paperwork needed. I would definitely recommend Ehsan, as he was trustworthy and reliable. Very accessible and timely with his responses. Keyes Lexus was great as well. The Sales department: 4 stars - it was the normal negotiation dance, and we agreed to a price, and moved forward fairly quickly, so I am grateful for Karina and Sam's business practice. The Finance department: 1 star. There was an extra $340 tacked on to the agreed price, and I was told that was additional tax due to my address even though I gave them my address prior to the meeting, AND even if it were true, the difference in taxes should have been a negligible $30, not $340. When I disputed it, I was given a generic "the application was already submitted" and we looked at each other awkwardly. Dominique is kind, but tried to explain to me how I was paying .9% APR if I paid the car off early, when I'm actually paying 4.9% APR. I didn't appreciate the slick talk, and more importantly : it was simply inaccurate and misleading information. I advise anyone not to go here alone if they are not confident in their understanding in financing, and pay careful attention the junk fees gets added in that step of the buying process. The Service: 2 stars. They MAY have washed the car, but certainly wasn't detailed. There were multiple stains on roof of the interior, the screen was dusty, and marked with finger prints. I understand a used car wont get new car treatment, but a $30k used car should at LEAST be wiped down.. It was a normal car buying experience, but lacked a lot of simple things that you should be getting in a luxury car dealer. I would avoid, especially seeing how there are so many options in SoCal. read more

I purchased a 2022 Lexus RC 300 from Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys over the summer of 2022. By January 2023, all 4 of my tires were worn due to the car being out of alignment. When I came in for my first oil change in 2022, I told the service department that the car was out of alignment. I could tell. They said it was not. Well, they were wrong. I asked them to replace my tires. They argued that this is "normal wear and tear". Except it's not normal. It's wear and tear due to negligence on the part of their service team. I would like to compliment on how helpful and assertive Chris Ward was during the inquiry and buying process. He helped answer any questions I had and directed me to Sam to discuss financial before I made a three hour trip to Keyes Lexus. Once we made it to Keyes, they were quick to assist us. Chris took us on a test drive, explained features of the vehicle and made us feel welcomed. Michael was the person who assisted us with our legal paperwork to complete the transaction. He was very knowledgeable and was trying to build a rapport. As he was assisting us, there was a sales person (I didn't get his name, but Michael will know who it is) constantly popping his head into the office to rush him as there was another guest there with children that were waiting for the paperwork process as well. I felt that was really rude of the sales person. I felt as if our time with Michael wasn't valued and we were just a number (as we may be) and trying to make a sale and rush us out. Michael politely told him, he was assisting us and will be right with him as soon as he completes our transaction. But he continued to stand in the hallway and peep his head in. After about the 4th time, they got into a little heated discussion and the sales person said, "well do you want me to call David then, fine I'll call David." Michael apologized for the interruptions and rudeness of the sales person. He proceeded to explain that it's important for him that the customer is satisfied. During the legal paper process, I felt as if Michael was being pressured to rush and get us out of there. I wasn't able to ask that question due to he sales guy being so adamant about getting the other customers in as "they have kids and they're getting impatient." I'm sorry, but how is that our fault? All said and done, once we completed the transaction and headed back downstairs to wait for our vehicle... the sales guy came up to me and apologized for what happened, he proceeded to explain to me that those people were waiting and their kids were getting impatient. I just said, "no worries." But perhaps, a little more training on how to treat your customers and value them and not bluntly show them that we're just a number and commission to your day. I came here all excited to lease a new 2022 sport SUV and the rep that I had been communicating with, Mayra Contrares was the worst car sales rep I've ever encountered. First, she talks a mile minute and never asked me about my needs or wants and when I was finally able to tell her, she tried to talk me out of a lease and push me into financing a new car. WTF? BEWARE OF THE FINANCE GUY MATT! Misogynistic a-hole! ALSO, KEYES LEXUS ARE SCAMMERS! DO NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT WITHOUT READING IT FIRST. They do not include your down payment in the contract and come up with other bs fees. I went with my mom to purchase an SUV. Immediately a sales guy offered to help. He was wonderful. Showed us exactly what we wanted as he went above and beyond to help us. We decided to sit down and talk numbers. Once the sales guy submitted our paperwork, Matt began to help us. He came back extremely happy suggesting he had the best deal for us. Obviously it wasn't but that's their job to keep numbers high. If the customer agrees then obviously that's not on them. I was there negotiating for my mom since I have experience purchasing cars. I told him the interest rate was too high and we wanted lower payments. Matt went back to see what he could do. In the meantime, the sales guy offered to bring the vehicle to the front so we could be ready to go once we signed. Minutes later Matt comes outside where the vehicle is parked and makes another offer. We didn't accept as the interest was too high for my mom's good credit score. We went back inside, managed to lower the interest and monthly payment to our liking. My mom was still a little iffy about it as she began expressing her concerns Matt and the sales guy. My husband and I recently visited Keyes Lexus with the intention to trade in his car and, if the price was right, get a new car. As soon as we hopped out of our car, we were immediately greeted by a smiling gentleman by the name of Otis. From the moment he approached us, to the 3-4 hours well beyond closing time, Otis made the car buying experience amazing. He is genuine, he considered our needs, provided pros and cons of each model, and was a book of knowledge when it came to the features of each car! Quite the opposite of what people may think of a car salesman, we never felt like he was being pushy/salesy. Once we decided on the model, we sat down to do paperwork and talked pricing. One of his managers came to talk about the trade-in and was honest that we'd likely get a better bang for our buck trading/selling elsewhere (thanks for the honesty). When we settled on leasing the car, we were introduced to another manager named Vito aka Avo. To say this was a team effort is an understatement (haha). Yes, they wanted to make a sale, and we wanted the car, but the level of service provided by both Otis and later Vito goes beyond our expectations.
