This place looks fancy but they have no customer service skills whatsoever. It is 820pm as I'm typing. I walked in the door at 756pm to see an es300h that was on the showroom. No one could open it or help me. So I sat in every car on the floor waiting for help. Finally, at 820pm, I ask for the person in charge of customer service. They don't have a customer service department per the receptionist with bright yellow nails. On a side note, this is Lexus. It is classy. If you want to be bold, go next door to Toyota where they spell classy Klassie. So as I'm leaving I say thanks but no thanks. I use Yelp primarily to gauge the quality of a business and rarely write a review, so when I do, you can believe that it's one of the greatest experiences I've had or one of the worst. Unfortunately for this business, it's the latter. I was in the market for a new car - it came down to an M3, S4, or IS 350. While I thoroughly loved all 3, the Germans lost because of their reliability issues. Thus began my adventure to shop around for the best deal in town. Mind you, this was my first time buying a new car from a legitimate car dealership (my previous car I bought from a used car lot - needless to say, it fit the stereotypical used car lot horror stories). I was told the Internet Sales department was the way to go nowadays, so I reached out to various dealers. Keyes and Santa Monica were the most convenient for me, offered me the best deals, and were very easy to work with. I opted for Keyes over Santa Monica only because they did not have the car I wanted in stock - they had to do a dealer trade and I was pressed for time to purchase because time was winding down on my eligibility for the new grad incentive. Jeff Palayan was the dealer I talked to throughout the entire transaction and he made me feel like he could work for me and really help me out. I felt more like a friend dealing with him. I originally was going to give this review 1 star, but I'm giving one extra just because of Jeff's dedication to get me the best deal. Jeff and I had ironed out the details before I walked in. He was even able to drop the price down a little lower for me when I showed up. It was a relatively quick and simple process - they had the car in stock, the terms were set, and I liked what I saw. Now here's where things really went downhill for this dealership: the finance department. I had to wait about an hour or so to meet the finance specialist. You would think there would be a little more sense of urgency to close a deal, especially on a vehicle of such caliber. I met with the finance specialist, Russ, and we started to talk numbers. I'm young, and like I said, this was my first time buying a new car from a name brand car dealership. Unlike my first experience of buying a (used) car, I didn't have friends or family to help me through the process this time. I did this on my own, and for someone my age with inexperience in car buying, this was already very intimidating. I started to get cold feet. As in the temperature of space would feel like a desert on my feet. Was what I was doing the right decision? Did I really want to be committed for this long to monthly payments? I could use this money for a lot more things! Like I said, I'm a young guy and to spend this much money already made me nervous. Russ pushed packages on me that I wasn't sure if I wanted. He tried to rush me through signing documents and pushed papers onto me. I was scared, indecisive, and lost. There was nobody to turn to for advice. What really did this review in and this experience was how Russ lost his temper on me. He gave me disrespectful attitude and yelled at me. I'm not an advocate of the saying "the customer is always right", but I expect at the very least, especially from a dealership that sells luxury cars, to be accommodating, helpful, and professional. This will be the second biggest purchase of my life; please do not rush me and treat me like a subordinate. I was ready to walk out. Screw this guy and this dealership, I thought, if that's how they treat their customers. Russ called in Jeff to help talk me through it, and that's where the dealership makes up its lost stars - with this stand up salesman. He talked me through everything, helped me out, and again, acted as a friend. That helped tremendously. I had a little more confidence in signing the rest of the docs and driving off in a brand new car. So all-in-all, the car buying experience, up until the finance department, was fantastic. Again, props to Jeff P. for the amazing service. Thanks for helping me through one of the most significant and scariest experiences of my life. To the dealership upper management - please re-evaluate Russ for his attention to customer service. I never in my life expected to be treated so poorly by such a prestigious company. Had Santa Monica Lexus had the exact model car in stock, I would've left the finance office and done business with them. That experience alone is what drove the review down. Came in to check out a used car and they were great. Let me test drive no questions asked. But when it came to negotiations that's when things went down hill real fast. Long story short they made me wait 30 minutes for the general manager to give me a quick yes or no answer. I asked for the full breakdown of the price. They force you to pay: $300 for nitrogen in your tires and a 3 year tire warranty. Nitrogen costs ~$7/tire at a professional tire store. A tire warranty usually costs you ~$25/tire for 6 years from America's Tire including road hazard and sidewall damage. Fun fact: the air you breathe is already 78% nitrogen. $800 for "touch up" and "paint protection". When I inspected the car there were still visible scratches and there were no signs of major work done on the paint or the interior upholstery which they claimed they did. The manager sounded VERY nervous and fumbled a lot when I asked him to elaborate. NOTE: These extra costs were not advertised anywhere on their listing online and were fine print on the vehicle's sticker. If you didn't get the hint, they're trying to make a few extra bucks by ripping you off. I did request to get those charges removed and they eventually got them waived after fighting tooth and nail. I'm not going to purchase the car because I don't support any of their business practices. Get educated and don't be a victim! PS the salesman has no idea what he's talking about. He said the luxury package on an IS 200t makes the car cost $50k when it's only a $1.5k option on a $38k car. What a joke. read more

The service is always good but was exceptionally good with Ken Lam. He explained all the repairs needed with pictures and with easy to understand language. They were able to close the deal on the trade-in and new car, sight unseen as we had driven to the dealership in my ride. SO is very happy with her new car, and happy with the trade-in process. Be aware! According to sales manager Vito Ohanesian, everybody lies here!! I leased three cars from Keyes Lexus but I'd never go back there ever again!! When I leased my car, sales person promised me to give me one extra free maintenance. I had my service today and I was told it'll be about $280. I told lady who helped me to say that I suppose to have one more free maintenance but she told me there is no note about it. She told me to talk to sales manager Vito Ohanesian and what he told me was "This is car dealer. Everybody lies". I couldn't believe what I heard!! I trusted sales person's word and I didn't know I had to ask him to put it on note. And what I was told is everybody lies?! Wow. I spoked to general manager and he was very nice. I hate buying cars, that's why I have had 2 cars in the last 25 years, but it was time, and I wanted to upgrade. I had been looking at cars for months, and knew the market was a mess. My husband called Keyes Lexus for me, they had an Atomic Silver NX 350 on the lot.. I had wanted the Pearl White, but knew this was in hot demand sand hard to fine in the NX. When we went, starting with Manager Mark, a very warm reception. We worked with Adel and Ash, could NOT have been nicer. I knew the price was coming in higher than I wanted, there were more features than I wanted or needed, but I ended up buying the beautiful Nori Green one they had on the lot. Then the 'ugly task' of the Financial Department--wrong! Leo was great. Explained everything, again pleasant to deal with. Then I needed to go home to get a check and bring it back--Nope, they made that easy too, Adel following me to my home to take it, so we didn't have to make the trip back. So overall, a very nice experience, Compared to other dealerships, at least what I saw online, they had a decent inventory. Just had a great experience from Keyes Lexus! I previously leased a ct200h from here, and needed to assist my wife's best friend in buying a car. She was in the market for a ct200h or a Prius. They had preowned of both , 2016. I unfortunately hate the back and forth negotiating when walking in with a traditional salesman. I called and spoke to Anthony Wilson in the Internet Department, explained our situation, what options we needed in a vehicle etc. When we arrived, Anthony had the cars ready for us to look at, test drive, and made it all about having a good experience with no pressure. In the end, my wife's friend chose the Prius, and Anthony made sure we were in and out of finance in a flash. If you are looking for a truly honest and transparent individual, Anthony is your guy! I have worked countless lease and purchase deals for vehicles for friends, family, and myself (over 30). They didn't try to sell us on anything extra, and even included a free service! I made my way back to Keyes Lexus of Van Nuys again to purchase a vehicle, because if there great service. Again the whole sales team was great. Daniel C. made the process super easy and quick. Christian the finance manager also did a great job and took the time to come introduce himself. Every step of this process was great, and thanks to that whole team. ***COMPLIANT*** Very seldom do I complain about anything. However, my brand new car (purchased on June 17th) had glue stuck on the trunk as well as some very minor scratches. It was arranged that I return and get that cleaned up. The most disappointing part is I sat for 2+ hours on Friday for them to buff a very small section of the trunk. With 2+hours of waiting (believe they forgot about me) I thought my whole car was getting detailed, BUT NOPE i returned to a dirty car with a buffed trunk. Unacceptable in my opinion. Again i typically dont complain but thats 2+ hours of my life I will never get back. Oh, and I had to take time to get my new car washed so it would match my buffed trunk. read more

I intended to buy my wife a Lexus as a surprise gift. I emailed a sales manager with what I wanted the purchase price to be (right about at invoice not including tax, title, license), my down payment, and that I was prepared to buy the next day. He agreed. I went in the next day and was seen by a salesman who this sales manager set me up with. He got my application started and sent me up for financing. After being made to wait for 30 minutes, despite being there at opening, I was finally seen by finance. Here is where it went bad. I advise EVERY perspective buyer to CAREFULLY look over EVERY line item on the sales contract. My credit score is/was just under 800 and my income is sufficient to qualify for the 0% financing offered in March. I was given a price of just over 43,000 with 0% financing (essentially MSRP), or $2,500 incentive cash at 4.9% financing. The payments shown were within a dollar or two of each other. Finance person was quick to show the breakdown, but scrolled down quickly. I was in a time crunch, especially after being made to wait unnecessarily as I needed to get home to give my wife the car before she needed to leave. Essentially, what they did is sell me a car at MSRP, at 4.9% financing, and the $2,500 "incentive cash" went toward the down payment. I want to be clear: I blame myself for allowing these professional sharks to sell me the car on these terms and blame myself for being allowed to be taken advantage of. They all got a nice commission out of me, and that's fine. I signed the contract. I should have read it better and not broken my own rules of car buying (going at the end of the month, just before closing on a weekday, and walking the minute they pulled shady antics). Unfortunately for me, circumstances did not allow me to follow my own rules this time, and I will pay for it. Once again, I advise ANY and EVERY prospective buyer going to this dealership to read over every page of the sales contract, scrutinize every line item, and be very careful. I will never, ever again give this brand (Keyes) any business, and will advise anyone and everyone not to either. Bear in mind I did not go in to jerk these guys around and test drive a bunch of cars, take up their time, and offer to pay $500 down with a 600 credit score thinking I could get a "deal". I have bought a new car 3 times in the past and while they all tried to pull the stereotypical antics, both parties walked away with a fair deal and neither party got screwed. Customer service at this place started off great and then went downhill when I didn't want to buy a vehicle at that moment. They did try their best to find a vehicle to my liking, but I really wasn't having it anymore because of their lousy attitude. I would totally rate their service as a 1 star. I came in to look at a used Lexus a couple of weeks ago, but after a test drive and further inspection of the vehicle, I noticed how dirty the interior of the vehicle was. Their response is that: "that's how it is when you buy used cars". This really ticked me off-yes I understand that it is a used car, but I guess I was expecting too much from a Lexus dealer. The person who helped me out wasn't that great and was just doing things on his own without specifically explaining things to me. Secondly, when given an outline of the pricing of the vehicle, they force you to pay for nitro fill for the tires. When asked if it is mandatory, the response was yes because the tires already have them...?? Lastly, when indicated that I wanted more time to think about it, they finally showed their true colors. One of their managers was really unaccommodating and disrespectful. His smile turned into a glare and spoke to me with outmost disgust as if I was wasting his precious time. It was the worst type of service I ever received as a customer and I don't know what makes him think I would even want to stay there any longer to buy a car from him. Please know that as a customer I have every right to take the time to think before purchasing a vehicle. You will not make any business with this pushy and disrespectful attitude. I am so excited to get my Brand new F sport IS 300 today. George Assatouri was my sales person and he was so wonderful. We instantly had the European connection having Belgium and German history. Car buying is always a stressful experience, because they are so may factors to it. Either salesman's are so pushy and try to sell you something that you don't want or are just shady. Immediately with George I just felt at ease and I felt he was so helpful, not pushy and intressted in what I needed and what my budged was and got me the best deal. Also his manager Vito Ohanesian was super nice and they worked with me on trading in my 2008 BMW. We ran into an Issue even I have good credit but I had a security Fraud alert on it which I have forgotten about it so that became an issue releasing the car. With Experian it only will let you release this lock in writing, which takes at least 48 hours. Again including Leah Kim in the Fianance department was so nice to help but the unlock did not happen but she tried so hard and I will take her out for wine lol. Here is the big Praise and that's why they have my Loyalty forever, they still let me drive away with my new car that's huge and I am so Thankful and grateful for the Trust thank you to George Assatouri, Vito Ohanesian and Ramin Hakakian. I went into this dealership to look at a hybrid SUV. Having looked at Audi's. Mercedes, Cayenne's and a wrath of other SUV's, I expected to drive a vehicle, be educated by the sales person and make a decision. All of the above happened, however the decision was to run, not walk, from this sleazy, unprofessional dealership. All started well, the rep knew her product and when she didn't she looked it up v making up features/facts along the way. I actually wear a car salesperson liar ring which turns purple when bs spews from their lips. It was happy green with the sales rep. (Ok, kidding!) Anyhow, they offered to trade my SUV in which is a 2007 with 40K miles and is in good shape. I didn't bother to tell them I've got 2 offers on it including a contract from CarMax because they promised an aggressive price. We come back from the test drive and the sales person drops me off in a cubicle with Ilya, who must have been former KGB. He wants to know if I'm ready to buy the car. Finally, my patience ran out and the sales manager in me decided to tell Ilya he didn't know what he was doing and he was "skipping steps" in a sales process. I caught myself, though, and realized these were people who could execute on a 5 year plan. If they now manage car dealships in Van Nuys, I don't need to screw around with this. I asked for me keys and license back and left apologizing to the sales person. She promised the GM would call, but of course he did not. By the way the offer came back on my SUV 30% lower than CarMax. This is a good place to go kick tires, then get the hell out of Dodge :-) At least I finally felt after dealing with nearly 10 professional car dealerships, that "Sleaze and car sales" were mates, again. read more

They add non-negotiable "Dealer installed options" to every car, and they hide the cost until the last step, including it with the sales tax, DMV fees, etc. These dealer installed options come in many forms, things like paint protection, undercoating, etc. They are extremely high margin to the dealership, their effectiveness is questionable, and they many not be something you want. In my case, I didn't want them. Their answer, "there's nothing we can do about that". Translation: "We need to extract more profit from you because the margin on the car itself isn't enough". But the worst part, is that they do this against your will. As a customer, don't you want the right to pick what options are important to you? I sure do. So I'm going elsewhere.
