When I needed to get my first money order, they were very helpful in explaining the process. When they first changed to Chase, they were very accommodating in helping me deposit my money into my California, Washington Mutual account (since it had not crossed over to Chase, yet). They had to forward the check to my bank in CA and then have them deposit it; no charge to me, just had to wait a couple more days which was fine. There was often a line when I walked in, but the line moved relatively fast, for a bank. The tellers were always nice and I started to recognize some of them--friendly faces. The other Chase bank on Willamette, did not feel as welcoming and friendly. I like this bank and when you have to go to the bank often, it's nice to go somewhere you like.

She then scribbles out a zero and then hands it back to be $38,XXX.00 and says go to the teller and she will help you pay. No apology of acknowledgement of her mistake. Then in the teller line, the couple ahead of me was trying to get a cashiers check. We waited in line for at least 10 mins, the tellers were looking around all over and even ran outside looking. I asked what was going on and they said we can't find the manager and she needs to approve their transaction. After 15-20 mins she come trotting in from her "break" while everyone was waiting in line. I was pissed, and she also was rude to me, not very apologetic either. This was the treatment I got after paying my home loan after 15 years. I will never go back there for anything. The employees are rude, clueless, and incompetent.

Every single time the tape recording tells me they are flooded with calls and the customer service rep will be over 10 minutes wait. Every time, no matter what hour of the day. This is abominable . The service reps are in the Philippines and probably paid 1.00 the hour. They are helpful and curteous but the waiting time is unacceptable. This needs to be corrected. I haven't lived in Eugene since 1998 - I do all of my banking online, through an associated credit union branch, or through an ATM (especially a member CU for no fee). I have used my debit card online, all over the country, and even internationally. I've never had a charge denied. Their interest-bearing checking account is a better deal than any of the big banks.
