-They didn't break anything - so thats great. But..idk about using them again. -The first half of my service was great: Getting a quote, talking with the representative, movers arrival, packing and loading the truck. Quick easy, on time. - (for reference I moved 200 sq ft of stuff, so about a studio apt - or less than, I purged a lot) (They did forget the certificate of insurance on moving day... even though i confirmed it via email, and called in to tell them twice also. But I wrote that off an an early morning mistake... ) -Heres what sucked. So from the start I was clear - I was not in a rush and was fairly flexible but I needed communication. After my stuff was picked up I had zero with driver communication. I didn't know when it left (until I initiated via email), I prompted frequently for an ETA. I contacted Key but for about a week they couldn't even reach him themselves. (Dispatch tried to be helpful, they were nice but Drivers number they gave me kept saying out of service) -Once my truck and stuff arrived we agreed on time for delivery, I sent a map -confirmed, everything. My driver was supposed to meet me at 8am, for the window of 8am-12. In that time I texted him 6 times and called every 30 minutes, asking for an ETA or a simple check in. I also called Key moving 12 times also. So about 24 voicemails in total. My driver eventually got in touch with me and made it there... 3.5 hours later (in total - 8 hours late). Turns out the driver decided to run another job "and wasn't around his phone" because its not like its 2017 on anything. He was also GENUINELY SURPRISED to find out I waited in a parking lot for him at the designated time of four hours. (Do you know if the driver waits for you though they can just dump your stuff in storage and charge you $150+) but go ahead and waste my whole day because a 30 second text is just too much. Then on arrival - doesn't have a pen, so I haven't actually signed the final contract. Wouldn't assemble my bookshelf that was disassembled by key and contractually obligated to put back together because he didn't think to bring tools. Asked me to go fetch the dollies from around the corner (why am I hiring movers if i'm doing the work??) and then spent the full hour flirting and saying the most inappropriate things "girl you somethin' else" "i can tell you a dominant personality" "so is that the name you were born with". In fact he was so focused on trying to talk to me - when I told him a box was fragile he responded with "oh uh this one? why whats in it" ... It was a uhaul box with DishSaver printed on it in bright green, along with the words fragile and pictures of plates and glasses. Oh but by all means. Keep flirting. I honestly debated about putting a review and maybe just letting it go. But its been a full 48 hours since this debacle and Key Moving hasn't even cared to call or follow up to see how it all turned out, or if they should be concerned about their employee conduct. read more

Key Moving helped me with a recent move. I would like to praise the movers, office staff and the sales rep for an overall great experience. I contacted 4 local companies for a move within the City. I had 3 companies come over (as I highly recommend) - my hope was to have no surprises, no last minute changes - what you see is that I need to move. I received only 2 firm quotes (the 3rd company mentioned that even if their quote is titled "Binding" they still have some room to play. I thought this was maybe true but not necessary in my Case).   Key Moving representative Danny was on time and very knowledgeable. He explained to me when and what will happen in each step of the way. I heard  and read lots of horror stories of price changes, delays, damages and what not. I wanted to leave no stone un-turned. I chose Key Moving as I simply felt that their attention to details and input was truly genuine.   My later conversations were with Scott Coleman at the office who also was friendly, courteous and had lots of insight and suggestions which I thought were really nice and to the point. I received a call from the office confirming the moving times and details. The crew showed up on time and really took good care of my goods. The crew was fast and helpful. They kept asking me to "be careful please" as they were lifting and moving my bed, sofas and dresser away..... J . All items arrived in perfect condition and on time.   This was a great experience and by far not anything as I feared. I will recommend Key Moving to all for quality service. read more

I have to say that their execution of our move was amazing from start to finish. We met Danny about a week before our move date for him to do the walk-thru. He arrived 10 minutes before his appointment time (we weren't even home yet!), and called us to say he was there. He gave a quick assessment and was out in 15 minutes. He's exactly the way he is in the Yelp video so it was reassuring to know that he still had the same friendly demeanor. Move day was just as easy as the estimate. We had 4 guys arrive 15 minutes early and they moved us from North Bergen to Harrison in under 5 hours. They were quick, courteous and professional. The only gripe was they seemed a little displeased because our North Bergen home was a walk-up. They were caught off-guard by that for some reason. When my husband tipped them $25 each, they seemed like they wanted more. Aside from that, I would use them again. I appreciate a company that values my time. read more

I had some time to plan out my move from Philly to Austin, so I spent that time trying to find a good deal with a company I felt I could trust. I wasn't finding the price I wanted and I felt the other companies I was talking to were allowing themselves a LOT of price padding the way they were sizing the load- really high weights, high volumes, etc. Always saying "oh well the day of it could be cheaper". I had my suspicions that anything would end up cheaper on those kinds of sliding scales. My third in person estimate from Audi (sp?) was definitely a winner. I felt like it was a fair price and it was based on a list of inventory and not arbitrary weight/volume estimates. Taking off a few items resulted in a very nice price with Scott Coleman, who handled my move from the sales side. I might add that Scott was very courteous and personable throughout the process. The night before the move, I realized that as far as my box count went I was going to have quite a few more boxes. Anxiety from other movers horror stories set in... how much was this going to affect my rate? I knew I was going to have to just hope for the best, as I had more stuff than my estimate. I found I had nothing to worry about a few days later when loading the truck for the long haul, I was charged a reasonable amount for the extra goods. Now, my stuff did take a full 16 days to arrive. It was picked up the week before Thanksgiving so I think that had something to do with it, and likely they needed to find another load to the area to send it with. So, it was a little longer than I was hoping for but the final move in went very smoothly, so I'm definitely ok with it. My move in guys really did a great job- there were extra stairs and a long carry and they got the job done very efficiently and were careful with my stuff. All in all I would use Key Movers again, and I definitely appreciate their help in my cross country move. read more

Not happy at all. I booked them a month ago, but 4 days before I am set to move, they call me and ask what my flexibility is for moving. When I tell them that I can change it by a few days if need be, they proceed to tell me that since my move is not a large one, I'm not a high priority and so there is a very slim chance that they'll be able to find someone to move me. The problem? I signed a contract with them and thinking that I was all set for the move, I didn't research into anymore moving companies. More than that, I actually turned some moving companies away since I thought that I was already set with this one. After much debate and a lot of anger, I decided that if need be, I could move a different week, so I emailed back to say that I was leaving on a plane, but that I could move before that - even though it made me very nervous. Scott, my contact at Key Moving & Storage, wrote back that there was a "possibility" of it happening....2 days before I leave. When we call him, he does not give us a guarantee. Basically, you can sign a contract with them, but if they decide that you're not worth the money, they will pull out of it. In the end, we ask him to provide his company's lawyer's contact info and also to update us on any developments. Luckily, I managed to find another moving company (more expensive of course)...thank goodness since I called and they were just about to go home. Scott did eventually call back to tell me that the 2 days before I leave was a definite, but how can I trust someone who I signed a contract with withdrew a guaranteed moving date, 4 days before the move? If I hadn't planned this move far in advance of when I was to actually leave Boston, I would be screwed. read more

I needed to help a friend with his move and Daniel from Key Moving gave me a great price. (Was actually less than the quote i got from a man with a van). They came on time, help my friend with the packing and within 5 hours he was at the new location. Nothing broke during the move and i was charged exactly like agreed. The staff in the office are very professional and friendly. Our sales consultant Lindsay was so kind and made our sign up smooth and seamless. Our pick up crew was also very professional and prompt. We had concerns about our delivery experience. However these concerns were immediately addressed by the owner of Key Moving, Danny. We were so impressed by his genuine concern and sincere attention to our experience. It's really hard to come by a company these days that exhibit such incredible customer service and one in which the actual owner calls to address the issue. I have moved many apartments and had a lot of stuff broken or damaged over the years These guys came on time, were polite and lovely, very helpful, wrapped my furniture meticulously, and when I got to my new place everything was intact and without a scratch! Worst experience we have ever had. We are an experienced moving family and we have never been treated the way we were or had as much broken as we did. We were quoted $5000, and AFTER all our belongings were in their possession, the total was changed to $8000. The day of delivery the semi driver claimed he couldn't make the turn onto our street [it is a normal width residential neighborhood where we have seen [and have pictures of] other semi's driving. Because the driver chose not to make it down our street, we were charged an additional $2000 for them to get a Uhaul [I talked with the Uhaul owner, he said he charged them $50], and shuttle our belongings 0.1 miles to our house from a parking lot nearby. Once all of our belongings were delivered we found an EXTRAORDINARY amount of damage, and have just filed a $6000+ damage claim. read more

So this is update to my previous review. Since then Daniel from Key moving messaged me and sent me a detailed GPS report. The movers did not appear to have stopped for two hours however they did take a long route out of the City to Brooklyn and back in through the Queensborough tunnel. This is why it took the movers over two hours to arrive. At any rate, no pun intended, Daniel did take the time to explain this to me and we agreed to compromise. Daniel immediately refunded me for 1 of the 2 hours I was disputing. So bottom line is, if you choose Key Moving, make sure you understand whether you are getting and hourly rate or a flat fee, ask for Daniel to help you, and get the GPS report if you disagree with the travel time. read more

Staff is very professional and pleasant. Have no issues there - BUT many pieces of my furniture were delivered( today June 7th, 2016) completely damaged (floor lapm, a server and a bar stool). The wardrobe boxes were at the bottom, so the boxes looked like accordions thus damaging my suits and coats. Do not recommend use this company because they hire subcontractors to unload your stuff. read more

Buyer beware! Never again! I selected them for my move because of their competitive price but it ended up costing me far more in damaged furniture and stolen belongings! First off, they arrived over 8 hours earlier than my scheduled pickup time so I wasn't done packing. They seemed to be in a hurry and rushed me. I would later realize that instead of removing the drawers from the dressers with care, they yanked them out with such force that they actually tore multiple plastic railings. I also discovered multiple dents and dings that weren't there before. Granted it was a cross country move, but the delivery ended up taking 12 days longer than the estimated date of arrival. Word to the wise: be very careful before signing off at delivery time. Unfortunately I realized too late that various boxes had been opened, belongings stolen, and then resealed. What was stolen? My Xbox, GameCube, and accessories, Leatherman multi-tool, Zippo grill lighter, along with probably several more items that weren't as obvious. Of course, I called the company to report this. The supervisor just said he asked the packers if they took anything and they said they hadn't (shocker) and hadn't had any other complaints from other customers. Useless... He suggested I file an insurance claim. The insurance company said you signed off at delivery so we don't have to compensate you anything. Even if they had paid, it would only have been based upon weight (less than $1/pound) and not the actual value of the items. Lastly, I filed a complaint with the DOT for whatever it was worth. Prospective customers beware. Sometimes the most competitive price quote will end up costing you much more than you bargained for. read more

Worst ever movers! I have been moved in and out of apartments a number of times before, but the unprofessionalism demonstrated by these guys was unprecedented. I was deciding between these guys and 2 other movers. Their sales person convinced me that I should choose them. He gave me a rate which is marginally lower than the others. I confirmed thar I'll go with them. Moments later, when I called to ask a question I am told that my rate would change to 200 $ more!! WHY?? Because the owner felt that their salesperson had undersold and he had other customers ready to pay a higher rate!!! In any case after a discussion I agreed to a higher rate. Then an hour later again the guy calls me and says the timeslot I had asked for wont work for him!! I had clearly told him that was the only timeslot I could make work between both apartments!! So thats how these guys operate and call themselves a AAA rated BBB company!! Please Stay Away!! read more

Absolute worst moving experience ever. Let's start off how many days does it take to move from Brooklyn to Boston? 1,2,3? Nah 7 days. When I signed up with this company I saw good reviews, and thought it was worth the extra 200 dollars compared to other companies, boy was I wrong. David was very nice and friendly when taking my order and told me they could even deliver my good the same day, with this hope I signed up for it. I even paid extra so that they would pack my glass table and then reassemble when got to my new apartment in Boston. The pick up was good I must say, probs best part of this experience. The mover told me when picked up my stuff, if you need it on a specific day we can arrange that. I was in high hopes with this, but boy was I wrong. When tried to speak to company when would be delivered they said no we can't do that. One of the workers was very rude on the phone he questioned my intelligence and was very argumentative and was very threatening, and was very fearful when said would escalate to BBB because felt was lied to due David saying I could get same day and that driver said same thing but could pick day, and this guy was saying nope 1-7 days to get your goods. After 3-4 days arguing they said they would deliver on Sunday, July 3rd, I asked could this be delayed for July 4th afternoon so could spend it with family, he stated no too bad, take it or wait another week. After sucking it up I took delivery on July 3rd thinking would be done with this company and then came another shocker. When met delivery people they immediately said we need our tip we're working hard for you and pretty much had to give their tip immediately. When I asked to assemble my TV stand which was stated would be done, they said no we don't want to be liable bring it up to key moving. Lot of my goods were damaged 1 broken lamp, hole in mattress, chipped computer desk, 2 broken kitchen chairs. I am hoping to get some money back, but I am probably asking for too much. The funny part of this whole story is my friend had similar move, paid 200 dollars less and got delivery same day. In my opinion stay away from this company, bunch of bullies and crooked businessman. read more

I just moved within Bergen county, NJ yesterday. The smoothest move ever! Movers were early and seemed to do everything 1-2-3! All of the men were very pleasant. What would have taken most movers 8 hours to complete, they did it in 5 hours! Fantastic!! Will use them again in the future. read more

THE WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER! I Hired this moving company to move my 1 bedroom apartment out into their storage facilities and then was going to use them to move me into my new home. There were 3 movers that took over 4 hours to pack up a 1 bedroom apartment and to top it all then tried to charge me tripple the amount that was quoted to me. When i called to find out why the charges are tripple the amount quoted they started with their excuses and exaduration. They claimed it will take 2 hours for them to drive 10 miles away and 3 hours to unload a truck into a storage facility. When we refused to pay this amount they automatically charged our card without authorization. We called back to resolve this and work it out, they were extremely rude and didnt want to negotiate anything less than the tripple amount charged from the original quote. They said for us to pay or they will take all of our stuff off of the truck and leave it in the street. When we refused to pay they left all of our belongings on the side walk in front of our building. I could not believe how unprofessional rude and nasty Danny the "Owner of the Company" was. I am going to file a complaint with the better business bureau so this does not happen to anyone else read more
