The owner doesn't speak much, but his expertise speaks volumes. I recently came in about two weeks ago to get the links removed from my ine-expensive Casio watch removed and I think the whole experience took less than 30 seconds. I literally walked in as he came back from break, said a sentence or two, took measurements of my small wrist and removed the links in front of me, free of charge. I'm happy this is in my hometown and sits on a plaza next to other retail businesses. Easy to find and hard to forget that this is the only reliable watch repair I could find in town.

He was right next to Apni Mandi market and is currently still in the same plaza. For fast repairs and battery changes I used to drop stuff off and then head into Apni Mandi for Amul butter and the fire roasted peanuts they sell in a bag. My first trip I brought him my wifes quartz watch that was no longer running and a mechanical chronograph that had part of the dial applique loose and was rattling around the inside of the dial. He prioritized my watch because I told him it was a gift from my wife from 2013 and my first "real" eatch. He charged an incredibly affordable price for having to basically take apart the whole chrono to get at the dial. My wife's quartz watch had a leaked battery that had damaged the whole movement so he replaced it also for an affordable price. He helped remove a link on a silver bracelet and solder the links back together very cleanly so he does jewelery repair as well. I started buying vintage mechanical watches and Jalal helped diagnose and perform a full overhaul on my Bulova "Devil Diver" and helped me restore and clean a nice 14K gold LeCoultre watch from the 50s. He won't do quotes over the phone so be prepared to come in person. He also appreciates phone calls over text so don't text unless you have to! It is chaotic and messy inside the shop but Jalal is such a charming pillar of the community I don't mind. Every time I come people are here just to hang out!

This wouldn't have been able to be done with him. His follow up during the process was amazing. They have CAD designs of the ring before they have their jewelers start designing the ring, so you have full control of how the ring looks. I made a couple of changes during this process and they were patient with me and showed me the changes on new CAD designs. After 6 weeks (they will be able to make the ring earlier but I wasn't in a rush), Isaq let me know the ring was ready for pick up. They showed me the certificate and was able to get me this beautiful box with a light in it (nice touch). I can't wait for my girlfriend to see this ring. I had two thin gold chain necklaces with broken clasps, one with a pendant that's not removable…read more They both had small clasps that were bent with pieces broken off from forcefully pulling them apart when they got tangled together. I was worried they couldn't be fixed easily since they were so small. I found Ali's on Yelp and brought the necklaces on Saturday afternoon. Ali told us there was a chance the clasps could break in which case they would need to be replaced. If he could fix them, we could pick them up that evening or the next day. He texted me later that day letting me know they could be picked up the next day. The necklaces and the fixed clasps look and work great. I can hardly visibly see that they had to be fixed. The whole process with Ali was very clear and smooth and I'm really happy with his help!

The style was exactly what I was looking for, but unfortunately, that's the only good thing I can say about my experience. As soon as she put it on, she noticed one of the links was broken and digging into her skin--she didn't even get to wear it for a full day. I brought it back for repair, and since it had already been shortened to her desired length, I had to pay an extra $30 for the fix. That was fine, but they originally told me it would be ready in a week. I ended up having to call them because it wasn't done until nearly two weeks later. When we finally picked it up, the clasp looked dirty and worse than before. At that point, we were just tired of waiting, so we accepted it. But after wearing it again today, the small links started falling off one by one until the chain was barely hanging onto the clasp. Now, she can't wear it at all because it's at risk of breaking and losing her pendant. We're stuck deciding whether to pay for another repair at a different shop (making the chain even shorter) or cut our losses entirely. Either way, we regret ever coming here. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else!
