They replaced my roof and did not install Chimney flashing. Go for a walk around your neighborhood…read moreand see how many chimneys do not have flashing around the chimney. I have not seen one without flashing expect mine. I waited to long to take them to small claims court, now i am looking at having it done before it becomes a leaking roof. The company owner we will call him Jack Monkey, I called and explained my concern Jack Monkey said they put down ice barrier and roof tar around the chimney and then he said is it leaking I said no but it can be a problem without flashing, he basically just laughed. Well Jack Monkey every roof contactor said it is a standard to put down the ice barrier and then chimney flashing, all the contractor's said no flashing will cause major issues down the road. Most of these reviews I would say are paid reviews. Stay away from this company.

I had planned on getting five quotes for my roof job, but I stopped at two after Mark from Hardie…read moreBoys gave me a comprehensive and very competitive quote for not only roof replacement, but also for replacement of the soffits and fascia, six new roof vents, and removal of the old chimney. Mark later added replacement of my dormer free of charge not because I asked, but because he wanted everything from the roof level up to be brand new and part of the job. Mark personally delivered the soffit and fascia materials himself days early so I had the opportunity to paint them before installation. I knew that once installed, the soffit and fascia boards would have nail holes and seams sealed with paintable caulk that I would have to touch up, but Mark had his professional crew take care of that touch-up. The crew was hard-working and did a wonderful job. They were friendly, accommodating, and fast. There were some challenges in removing the old and degraded fascia and soffit, which in turn required an extra half day of work for the crew...at no extra charge. The original quote included up to five sheets of replacement 4'X8' roof deck sheeting, but once they removed four- yes, four - layers of shingles, it was clear that 13 more sheets were in need of replacement. Mark made a point to show me the old sheets and I noted myself that they were severaly delaminated and clearly in need of replacement. The cost per extra sheet was very reasonable. The crew did a complete cleanup after the job was complete and frankly, my yard and the area around my house was cleaner than it was before the job started. I can't say enough about Mark and his crew. Mark was attentitve to all needs and concerns from the moment he stepped on my property to give a bid. I am thankful for the friend who recommended Hardie Boys and I would recommend them myself to anyone who needs a roof replacement.

We had this company install gutters on our shed, house, garage, and addition and I did a lot of…read moreresearch before hiring them. I can say with confidence that this is a terrific company to choose for good looking, high quality gutter installation. Our house actually looks BETTER after the gutters than it did before--I kid you not. We had over 200 feet of gutters to run and 8 downspouts, 4 of which were two stories high! So I did my research, starting with over 30 companies in the area. I got five quotes. Melville Construction, a small business run by the original owner's son Coty, stood out to me for many reasons and ended up doing an EXCEPTIONALLY good job for us. Our property was challenging and the quotes we received went clear up to and over $4000. Coty and Jackson did the work for a VERY reasonable, fair price, significantly less than half that, and they saved us a few poor choices along the way. His quote reflected the worst case scenarios and accounted for every possible problem (our remodel and new construction has a lot of potential issues, including angled fascia). In the end, his final invoice was LESS than his estimate! I am pleased with how his work made our home more sound against water penetration and problems. His attention to detail was fantastic, his attention to the asthetics was appreciated, and he was very focused on our ultimate satisfaction. I dreaded having gutters installed because I felt they would stick out and be ugly--but Coty and Jackson made sure it looked good. Our house, honest to goodness, has never looked straighter. My husband and I are blown away by their work, integrity, and overall high value. Why would anyone choose another company with higher prices? Just because you know the name? Give Melville Construction a try. You will be pleased. Nice job, guys, and thank you very much.

Unfortunately, nothing about the service visit was as expected, including the quoted pricing. Here is an excerpt from the email I sent to them, which went unanswered: - Originally I was quoted a discount price on the dryer vent cleaning that I was told was a greater discount than the military discount. At the completion of the service, the dryer vent discount was not offered and so I paid more for the service. - I was also told that the service would take approximately 3 hours to complete, and then was told by the technician that arrived that it take approximately 2.5 hours. He was done in 75 minutes and appeared to be in a hurry. No explanation was given as to why the work was done early. - There was dirt and debris located in every room after the technician left. I spent almost an hour vacuuming floors and furniture to clean up the mess left behind. - The brand new filter was still accumulating large pieces of dust and dirt after the service was completed. I was told the vents were completely cleaned. Disappointed to say the least....
