Miss Chan Chans kitchen provided a very cute boss baby themed cake for our son's first birthday…read moreparty! Not only did it look good but it tasted just as good! What I love is that whatever material she uses for the outside of the cake was not bitter. Usually cakes that look that nice use fondant that has a bitter, chewy taste. Miss Chan Chan did not disappoint! She was professional and produced the vision of the theme just as I envisioned it but better. I am so thankful she had availability to make it. Side note: Even people who don't typically eat red velvet at the party LOVED it! We will always have these memories to look back on and I am happy to know that my son's first experience with cake was this one.

If you're looking for a cake for a decent price, Shirley's business is a great option! I found her…read morethrough Yelp and inquired on her website. At first I was thinking of getting a custom cake but I quickly realized it was out of our budget--from all vendors, too. I guess I was a little naive in custom cake pricing. If only we had more $$ to drop for our son's bday but priorities!!! Nonetheless, Shirley was able to accommodate my budget and gave me the option of a plain cake with a custom topper. My son's been obsessed with MUNI buses and trains lately so I told her that either one would work. We communicated back and forth through email and Shirley was very prompt in responding. I paid the deposit and the amount due before the time frame. Note that I inquired around the same month of the event date, so somewhat late to the game in planning (I have a feeling some people plan two months in advanced because custom cookies and cakes usually are booked way out in advanced) but it still worked out for me! On the morning of, I picked up the cake and it looked amazing! Shirley's cake tasted great! She let me know that the MUNI bus topper was edible except the label. We chose to have a vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream filling and it tasted amazing! I forgot to take photos of the cross section but this cake was pretty darn yummy. The only feedback I have is that her typed responses can be more formal, with punctuation and less use of acronyms... which will help seem more professional and clear! However I understand that it's her way of expressing herself and it's been working for her... so to each their own, it just irked me as someone who teaches writing!

This is my favorite cake shop in the area and should be the bar for cakes everywhere…read more The buttercream on the cake is the best. It's soooooooooooooooo smooth and buttery. I would eat the cream by itself if they sold it that way. Good thing I don't live nearby. I saw one review say that some of their chocolate flavor or cookie flavors weren't as good, which I understand. I had a cookie cake and didn't taste the smooth, buttery taste I was looking for. I highly recommend cakes that let their vanilla frosting shine without mixing too many flavors. Flavors: - Raspberry & lychee was amazing - Key lime was a little too tart for my tastes, but I still loved the buttercream - Cookie was just ok

Super elegant cakes! They look to be those that are super custom, but really glad that you can just…read moreorder and pick up these cakes. A cousin has brought over cakes from Butter& on numerous occasions, and they've been a hit each time. Beautifully crafted with the outside layers so you can see both the cake and frosting layers. I absolutely love the unique-esque of flavors here. The first cake I tried from Butter& was their brown butter lemon cake. It was a bit too sweet for my liking, but love the sound of that flavor combination. It was great texturally. The second one I tried was their lychee raspberry. Wow, they really get that lychee flavor super well there! Very impressed. This one was more to my liking, and it was as equally as beautiful as the first one. Disclaimer that I haven't been to the actual store, but heard great things re service and the atmosphere. I bet it smells amazing in there. Someday I'll make a visit, but for now, keep the cakes coming! YUM!
