In St Augustine visiting the city with friends. A small walkway with lots of stores selling everything from food and jewelry to T-shirts and antiques. Then the smell hit the four of us! Popcorn! Wonderful aroma beckons us. Now I have always loved popcorn. When we go to a movie I either skip lunch or dinner and have two (2) buckets of popcorn! We walked inside and stood astonished at a huge wall of giant popcorn containers. So many choices! The staff must have chuckled at our open mouths. We were welcomed and offered samples of different flavors. We tried a lot of them and I could have stayed there but have tours to take. Our friends bought three small bags to take back to our resort at Daytona Beach. My wife and I bought four medium bags. Hot Chocolate and Smores for her. I settled on Bacon Cheeseburger and Habenero (which had a nice fiery bite). Needless to say, we shared our bags but undoubtedly the majority went to my mouth. Good thing this shop is several hours from home else I would have to work my way through a hundred flavors! My highest recommendation. If you enjoy popcorn, this is a must visit! Staff was very friendly and the owner even came out to meet us. Hmmm, I wonder if they franchise??? We will definitely be back.

Kernel Poppers is located on St. George's Street in St. Augustine, Florida. It is surrounded by many stores as you browse around downtown St. Augustine, you can smell the gourmet popcorn from their shop outside. Popcorn in all different varieties and stored in big buckets. You would be amazed how many flavors are there and done fresh and daily every day. Staff was friendly. They let you try a sample if you were curious about a flavor or answer questions what the popcorn was. There are a ton to choose from, lots of stare and decide what you want. Kernel Poppers also does shipping, too, in case you were coming from out of state. We were able to pack it in our luggage with no issues through airport security. All payment is accepted. If you crave delicious popcorn, this is where you can't miss the smells and tastes.

Popcorn heaven is what I would call this place. Every flavor imaginable is here in popcorn form. The staff is great and allows samples of any flavor you want before purchasing. Located between many shops and restaurants in this quaint St. Agustine town. A must try atbleast once.

OMG!! Taste buds overload Every flavor was a perfect match! There is no such this as too many samples. Stellar staff Natalie, Andrew, and story time with Mr.John. This place is highly recommend

We stumbled upon Kernel Poppers while walking around St. Augustine. We walked in and knew we would for sure be getting the 3 medium bags of popcorn (because you buy 2, get 1 free), but we of course needed to try some flavors. The employee working seemed very nice and helpful at first, but with every sample we requested she seemed to get a little more annoyed. But she seem more annoyed whenever someone else would walk in. She would sigh or make a comment under her breath that we could hear clearly. They weren't very busy and I think one other group came in behind us. If the service was better, I would have given it more stars, but she made us feel like we were a problem being there.

I'm giving Keneal Poppers a 4 out of 5. I stopped by this location on a busy Saturday. They work pretty quickly so we were served quickly as well. Customer service was friendly and helpful in describing the many varieties of flavors offered. The shop was clean inside as well. The flavor I chose was the rainbow mix, which is a variety of all their fruit flavors mixed together. The flavors are good and the popcorn itself tasted good but it was so sweet and so chewy that I can only eat a handful of kernels at a time. I also got the Cookies n Cream. That one didn't taste too much like cookies and cream to me. It was also too sweet. I'd definitely like to go back and see if they offer a kettle corn variation and to try a savory flavoring rather than sweet.

Popcorn Popcorn !! A large assortment of Popcorn flavors. From key lime to oreo, to cotton candy. Buy medium so you can pick 3 flavors. They do not skimp on the flavor; it can become overwhelming as you eat more and more. When you visit be open to trying different flavors. We ordered several flavors, Chicago mix, dill pickle, butter rum, Andes, and a few others. They were all pretty good, but you definitely can't sit and eat the entire bag at once; Robust flavors. They do have a crunch so I wasn't left feeling the Popcorn was stale. A must try especially if Popcorn is your thing.

More than just gourmet popcorn, it's an experience. We went in for some flavored popcorn, but the service was amazing. We received all sorts of samples, so many in fact that we skipped lunch we were so full. We loved hearing about all the flavors and which ones were the most popular. This shop exemplifies what St. Augustine is and should be, definitely stop by when you're walking through.

Kernel Poppers is such a good snack shop on St. George street. The selection of flavors for their popcorn is huge and unique!!!! They have anything from oreo, twix, butterbeer to the random but delicious mountain dew, dill pickle and top sirloin. If you love popcorn and want it with a twist this is the place to go to!!!! The prices are fair and the employees are always friendly. We end up always stoping here when we are in town.

The array of options to taste!

I'm a huge popcorn fan and we always stop here when we visit. John a s his team were fantastic and kept the flavors coming till our bellies were filled with all sorts of magical creations. We left with lemon shortbread, key lime, loaded baked potato and beer cheese soup! We had fun trying all the flavors and even bought some bags as gifts for friends and family.

We got about halfway to where we were going and decided we weren't going to make it there and back on time. We crossed the street and turned around to head back to where we were parked. We walked up to Carnival Sweets and immediately noticed how absolutely charming the store looked. You went inside and it's such a quaint little store. We were immediately greeted by two men who were just the kindest. I purchased two honey bun cow tails for my children and then I ordered two hot chocolates and a strawberry lemonade. To receive your drinks, you go out the side door to the left, around the back. The hot chocolate with some of the most decadent that I have ever had. It was incredibly rich and very flavorful. The strawberry lemonade was also delicious. Between the cleanliness, the cutest decor, the kindest staff, and the delicious drinks, I wish I lived closer to come here more often. This is definitely an establishment that deserves your money and time.

Walking in the staff was very friendly and told my party that we could each try a couple of different pieces of Laffy Taffy figure out what we like the most! I decided to try the eggnog flavor and it was very nice! After trying a sample I decided to get a handful of different flavors and nibbled them while I walked on St George street. The Candy Corn Taffy was decent, but it did not have that much flavor in my opinion. The consistency of it was very tasty however so I was glad to try it. I also got one that was pickle flavored and this one was absolutely flavorless so I was a little upset about that. Another one that I got was beer flavored and you could taste it with just the right amount of flavoring. The prices are very decent and charging by the weight, you can get a nice amount in your bag without breaking the bank. The place was very nicely lit and super clean and I loved how one of the walls, in its entirety, was filled with easily over 50 different flavors of saltwater taffy! I felt like a true kid in a candy store!

"First Coast" food - 2 of 2…read more Ok, so this is food ... and it isn't. I didn't know where to eat in charming St. Augustine, Florida - America's oldest settlement - and would wait to return to Jacksonville to figure out where I'd then have dinner. I stumbled into Claude's Chocolate admiring the historic Alcazar Hotel which now houses city hall, a museum, and then some. As such, a dessert from practically adjacent Claude's would serve as lunch. Saying "old world European" may sound trite, but it's applicable here where the endeavor has a craftsman-like dedication, be it in the hand made ice cream/gelato, the chocolates and candies they select, and the tidiness of their small store. They do have enough space, though, for people to eat in and it was nice and cool inside. I had two ice cream flavors side by side - strawberry cheesecake and Belgium chocolate. This ice cream "lunch" was delicious and I savored the taste slowly as I sat inside but looked outside the storefront windows toward the Alcazar and its landscaped square. I was treated politely and with patience as I chose what I wanted from the glass case. I also purchased a small quantity of candy for the road. Claude's Chocolate is not a chain chocolate or ice cream store. This is sort of a boutique for fine chocolates and higher quality desserts and sweet treats. The prices are a little bit higher, but you get what you pay for.

It is actually located in the same store as Pepper Palace so we killed two birds with one stone. I read previous reviews and everyone had great contributions so that sold me. I am not sure how crazy popular St. Augustine has become in the past year or two for families but it seems like families took a really long wrong turn away from Disney and headed here. Anyway, this place is really small. I mean like maybe can fit 10 people maximum at a time. I expected unusual finds of candy and I did find some unique candy for sure! I really did not have anything specific I was looking for but was willing to spend money if I found something. Unfortunately, there were too many kids standing around like zombies and it made it really difficult to browse and shop. I was feeling too crowded so I made my way towards Pepper Palace. I intend to come back but only when there are not so many people. The selection was good but I think there could be more unique finds and a little more variety. They had bulk options, but not many. There was of course plenty of packaged candy that many of us are familiar with. There was also slushees, smoothies, and drinks behind the counter. Next time I really want to look at that.
