The next step came with the staff at the movies would put only half popcorn top with butter and then add the rest of the popcorn and add butter so that you could have a more complete buttery experience. Now you can add your butter on your own to make it as buttery as possible. For a time you could purchase flavor packets with different cheeses. Some movie theaters even have a bar similar to a condiment bar for burgers, but with popcorn toppings... Kernel Poppers far supercedes this. For one, there's no need to top your popcorn here. They let you taste whatever you like from their shelves, which had like 60-70 different flavors. We ordered cookie and creme, salted caramel, jalapeno cheese and sour cream.and onion. Their jalapeno popcorns have real kick and if you love spicy, go for it! I also loved the cookie and cream. You can mix differnet flavors in a same bag. As a vegetarian the attendant wasn't able to give me a list or a confident answer regarding the ingredients for ANY popcorn. After asking her 'manager' she assured me that only 'Loaded Baked Potato" was not vegetarian, later I noticed that they had 'Cool Ranch Dorito' the attendant assured me that it was vegetarian. Clearly no one employed here has ANY real knowledge of their ingredient because COOL RANCH DORITOS ARE NOT VEGETARIAN. I did not feel confident in eating anything in this store and if I had any real allergy I WOULD NOT eat anything here. At the very least give us an ingredient book. What a shame. read more

This place is like the MECCA for all things gourmet popcorn. I stopped in with some friends , one of whom made a purchase. The wall has bins and bins of random flavors of popcorns like pizza flavored and salt/vinegar. Some you would never think of putting together. There are so many flavors, stored in giant tubs that they will pull down and give you samples from. Everything from the normal white cheddar to key lime pie to kit Kat flavored. We tried a few things. White cheddar - great, would have been my favorite if I didn't discover.. .. Beer cheese soup - oh my gosh amazing. Light on a beer flavor, very cheesy, and addicting. It was fresh and easy to eat - not many kernels. Cherry coke - tasted like cherry coke! We got this one too as it wasn't too fruity and the coke flavor was fun. Key lime pie - OK - a little too fake lime flavoring for my taste to be mixed with graham cracker. Loaded baked potato - buttery and good with a light smoke flavor. A bit of cheese flavor in there too. The popcorn was fresh, and stayed fresh for about two-three days for the cheese flavor, more for the fruit. My family and I were very excited to try this place. Many of our friends had already been and reveled about it. When we arrived, we were so excited to see the variety of crazy flavors. As many of the other reviews have stated they were able to sample as many flavors desired, we too were excited to try several. However, after about five or six samples, we were told that we needed to make our decision, because she could not allow us to try everything. At that point I told her thank you, but we have made our decision. We then left without purchasing at least five bags of popcorn. I am not sure why this particular female employee was so bothered by us, but the store would have made a lot more off of us than what it lost in samples. Excellent place for amazing popcorn flavors. We went there twice during our week long visit. To address the comments about popcorn going stale after you pop it...I agree that is what happens at home but they coat the popcorn with flavor glazes and powders right away and that in itself keeps the popcorn fresh. We found the attendants helpful and kind. Our favorite flavors are rainbow, blueberry muffin, kettle corn, loaded baked potato, and traditional caramel. I recommend giving them a try. read more

Great variety, great tasting popcorn my favorites by far are the peanut butter and chocolate and the beer cheese and soup wIth hot wings. $43 I spent; 2 med gourmet, 1 med cheese and 1 sm gourmet. The only caveat would be that they don't accept American Express which is fine when you know in advance but is pretty inconvenient once you're ready to make a purchase. This place is great if you enjoy flavored popcorn! It's definitely not a typical popcorn place from experience. They literally have over 100 flavors and some of the options they have are really cool, for example they have everything from crab legs to Oreo cheesecake! Plus there are several options as far as size and all to choose from, and you can do half and half as well! At the door they always have a sample to try and once you're at the don't you can sample two more flavors before choosing. The hardest part is definitely choosing a flavor because there are so many and all of them are probably amazing, you can choose from gourmet, candies and cheese! I decided on blueberry muffin and cotton candy, I was going to do half and half but the lady recommended that I do two kiddie sizes instead because it saved me money which I though was really friendly and rare for someone to do, but it was appreciated! I really love popcorn. A lot. Probably more than a normal human should. So when I was browsing around St. Augustine while visiting, I was more than excited to find an entire store of JUST popcorn. This little place is tucked along the main walk way near all of the other restaurants and shops. It would be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. Upon entering, it is a bit overwhelming. There is an entire wall behind the counter with what appears to be hundreds of flavors. They have the standard cheese-type flavors, then simple sweet ones, and then the gourmet flavors, which are the heavier coated or complex seasonings. Just a few of the stand outs that caught my eye (either with a thought of "mmmmm" or "oh gross") were samoas, buffalo blue cheese, Kit Kat, dill pickle, sirloin steak, hot white cheddar, and beer cheese soup. I was so anxious to try things, and I had a few questions. Here is where the problem started. This place is a cool concept, and there is so much going on, people are bound to have questions. However, the teenage girl that "helped" me was anything but helpful. She was extremely rude and actually seemed like she would have preferred to be anywhere else but there. I tried to ask what her favorite flavors were and what were ones I should maybe stay away from, and she answered, but with a scoff and an attitude. No suggestions or assistance on what would go well together if I combined flavors in one bag (which you can do, I found out from the sign.) At one point, we needed to move down so that other customers could also stop at the counter, which made perfect sense. She snapped at us, "I need you guys to move down so other customers can get in." It was a reasonable request made in the most snide way possible. She made my friend feel so uncomfortable that I ended up just ordering something quickly and running out rather than staying to get the full extent of what I wanted. That means I walked out spending $10 rather than the $60 I would have for the cool tin with 14 flavors. Poor customer service will do it every single time. The prices are definitely higher than what you'd pay for basic popcorn, but I think for what it is, it's worth it. The simpler flavors are cheaper, with the gourmet flavors a bit more. I am not sure if I'd return or not. The popcorn I picked up really is delicious, but being made to feel like I'm not welcome makes me very hesitant. read more

We visit St Augustine about once a month and usually pop in for some popcorn each time. We get the buy two get one free medium size deal each time. I always get the Chicago mix and this time was no different. I don't get a sample because I know what it tastes like. When I went to pay, I noticed that the employees were scooping samples into customers' hands and that sometimes the scoop touched the hands of the customer. That same scoop was then used to scoop more popcorn! The next day, I get about a fifth of the way into the bag when I have to pull a medium length, grayish dark hair out of my mouth that is NOT mine! After running to the trash can and spitting out the popcorn in my mouth, I send them a private Facebook message letting them know about the hair and the scoops getting touched my customers and then used to scoop popcorn but never hear from them. It's been almost two weeks so I figured by leaving a review here they will finally acknowledge it and make some changes. My popcorn was "free" so to speak because of the buy two get one deal so I was not asking for anything but for them to make some changes on how the popcorn is handled and maybe some hairnets to be used. read more

I was visiting family from out of town and took my three nieces here after they raved about how good the popcorn was. We go inside to sample a few before I was about to buy each of them a bag and myself. The girl behind the counter was so nice but then an older gentleman comes out from the back and yells at us for sampling popcorn and yells at her for giving us popcorn saying "don't touch that, what are you thinking?!"
