I would give this place ten stars if I could, I can't recommend it enough. Beautiful and elegant interior with an intimate low lighting atmosphere. Great for dates, friends, family, or work events (but pricey). Service was outstanding, they definitely go above and beyond to take care of you and are so incredibly polite. They take their jobs very seriously and provide recommendations based on your tastes. I love a drink with the perfect blend of sweet & sour without being syrupy and the Pom-Metaxa is exactly that. We'd eaten here several years ago, and the food was mediocre at best, but we decided to give it another chance today. I really regret doing that. tl; dr: Worst service ever. We arrived for lunch around 1:15pm. The main dining room was moderately full, but almost everyone either had food already, or empty plates. Apparently, we'd missed the peak of lunch hour, so there were no excuses for what followed... We sat at our table for over 10 minutes before a server even appeared. By that time, we already knew everything we wanted, so we ordered waters, mixed drinks, an appetizer, and two entrees. We waited for another 10 minutes with nothing at all but our napkins, before the server finally brought some water. (Dear Kephi: If a customer has been seated for 20 minutes, and doesn't even have water yet, you're doing something wrong.) Maybe this would have been fine so long as the server was cool or apologetic about it, but they were completely unapologetic, with not even a hint of any acknowledgement of how terrible their service had been so far. We waited another 10 to 15 minutes, with nothing but our two waters... (So it has now been 20+ minutes total since we'd ordered our drinks. Also, this whole time, the bartender is just standing at the bar, doing nothing.) With no end in sight, and having been seated for over 30 minutes now with nothing but water, we decided to walk out. Conclusion: Admittedly, the interior is very beautiful -- especially the bar area. The food is mediocre (from what I recall) and over-priced. The service, however, is absolutely unacceptable. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in Williamsburg shopping and visiting family. Today, the olfood was amazing as always, but the feeling of being segregated outshined all of that. We were greeted friendly, but we walked past everyone else dining and set in a section I had never sat in before. I thought nothing of it until I noticed everyone else that entered the establishment was sat in the main area and we were the only table of melanin in the entire establishment and we were the only people sitting in that area with no one else being sat there. I visited on a Friday evening before the dinner rush and was seated right away for a party of 5. The restaurant is clean, chic and brings good vibes. We ordered a Greek salad with shrimp, kids chicken, saganaki and the gyro. We enjoyed our meal however I wouldn't order the Greek salad again. It didn't have much flavor and charging an extra $10 for 3 shrimp was a bit much. Overall, I'd recommend thing place for their food. read more

This review is closer to 3.5 stars than 3! My in laws took my partner and I here for dinner and overall I was satisfied with the experience. The service was very attentive and prompt. I really liked the inside of the restaurant, it was clean and more upscale than other eateries in the immediate area. The food is the only reason I deducted 1.5 stars, it was straight but I've had way better grilled octopus in other places. Kephi was a delicious spot to eat! We came on a Friday for lunch, and there were plenty of parking spaces and tables available. We had the melitzanosalata (eggplant dip) to start and it was fantastic! I'd recommend asking for additional pita, because we went through them pretty quick. It was so tasty, I wish it could be packaged in a tub and sold. For our entrees, we had the hot Dolmades and Kotopoulo Ladolemono. The chicken dish definitely felt like more a meal, since it came with potatoes and a side salad, however the dolmades were still delicious! The ground beef inside was still very hot once it came to the table. We planned on getting dessert after seeing the display case when we walked in, but were stuffed by the end of the meal! There were cakes sold by the slice, and lots of biscotti and pastries that were homemade. On my next visit, I'll be sure to get a piece of coconut cake! I wish there was a lunch menu. The only positive was the French fries! Talk about false advertising! Their website says they have happy hour until 7pm and $7 cocktails for ladies night until 10pm ...not the case! Even though the hostess said that happy hour was still going on at the bar when I arrived at 6:20pm, the bartender refuted the fact and said that it was only until 6pm. I was told that "they were too lazy" to update the website. When I asked about the ladies night cocktails I was given the seasonal cocktail menu and told that the ladies night hours/pricing was not being honored either. I would strongly advise that this establishment updates their website instead of misleading potential patrons. I'm from Brooklyn and would normally make more of an issue but Im on vacation and didn't want to start anything. read more

I dined at Kephi today for the first time, and it was outstanding! My neighbors have been raving about the restaurant for some time, and now I see why. I enjoyed the Kotopoulo Laddlemono, which comprises two lemon and herb chicken breasts accompanied by lemon and olive oil potatoes and chopped salad containing lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. The food was so good. Since I went for lunch, I brought home one of the two chicken breasts. My friends ordered the stuffed grape leaves, gyros, Greek salads, and soup. Everyone was quiet, as they were savoring every bite! For those who have room for dessert, Kephi offers a wide selection of tempting desserts in a glass refrigerated display case that spans several feet. The interior of the restaurant is comfortable with cool blues and greens and unique lighting fixtures. Seating also is comfortable. Service is friendly and courteous. As I was with friends, they provided separate checks and left the gratuity up to us to determine. I look forward to returning and bringing some more friends. This was my first time at Kephi, my parents recommended it. This service was really great, we were sat quickly and the waiter was on top of everything. The restaurant was clean, a good amount of seating, and I really enjoyed the choice of music. The food was outstanding. We started off with the tzatziki and pita, which you could tell was fresh/homemade. I could honestly eat a bucket of this. My entree was the Kephi Chicken Gyro, it was phenomenal. I was looking about for some place to have dinner while out shopping in Williamsburg. Having not had Greek in a while I decided to give KGK a try. The food and service were wonderful. It's rare that I order dessert at a restaurant but Kephi's bakery shop puts tantalizing temptation in the way to ones table. Can't miss it. We had dinner tonight at the Greek restaurant and we have eaten here before tonight's meal was excellent. We love the beet salad that they have and my husband had a grinder which was excellent and excellent fries with it. I had the spanakopita love the light flaky phyllo dough along with a spinach feta the service was excellent And we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They have excellent food and I would highly recommend to go to this place. As for the ambience, it's definitely a family restaurant. The noise level is high other than that. Was visiting from out of Town and my wife suggested Greek food for dinner. Arrived around 6pm and was seated immediately in an almost full dining room. Our waitress, Gizem, brought us water quickly and introduced herself. As the menu has authentic dishes I had some questions which Gizen answered before ordering. My wife ordered her usual gyro sandwich which came pretty good size. She was surprised the meat did not appear to come from a usual lamb/beef spit. I ordered a dish named patichio which is layered crumbled beef, penne noodle and a custard topping and then baked. I did not enjoy my meal. I wish there would have been a little more beef and less custard topping. Our service was good, atmosphere was nice, staff are friendly. Upon entry there are displays of Greek oils, sauces and such for sale as well as a nice display of desserts. We grabbed a couple desserts to take back to our hotel and a gallon of imported olive oil for home. There is sufficient on-site parking. If in area again this could be another stop. read more

It was a lucky coincidence that we discovered Kephi right across from our hotel because it was the best Greek food we've ever had! Lots of dishes that I had never tried before since most of the Greek restaurants near me are more the street food type, so I wanted to try the Kephi Tria with their meatballs, sausage, and spanakopita and they were all fantastic! My gyro fillings were generous and perfectly made (and proportioned, an important aspect in my opinion), and we also had the pasticchio which surprised me since I thought it would be more like lasagna with bechamel instead of tomato sauce from the description but it was much more flavorful and savory. The desserts were all delicious as well, my favorite being the orange cake which was incredibly moist with a fantastic orange flavor but the galaktoboureko and kataifi were both delicious as well in their own different ways, the galaktoboureko creamy and subtle and the kataifi sweet and nutty with a light and crispy texture. Friends took me to this restaurant for dinner. I really liked the interior, especially the bar area with the blue colors of the lights. We were seated in the back area. Ordered wine and a couple of appetizers: the grilled octopus and Taramasalata dip. I was surprised at the small portion of the octopus, as it looked like only it was half a tentacle, rather than a whole one. Expensive at $18 for such a small portion. The Taramasalata was very runny, not thick like I've had at other restaurants. It was so runny, it was hard to pick up with the sliced cucumbers and pita bread. Disappointing. I had the Braised Beef with rice and vegetables as my entrée. It was very good, although not much in the way of beef. My friends ordered an entrée salad and the Moussaka - also very good. For a Greek restaurant, I would have expected larger portions and more reasonable prices.
