The oil was separated and not only looked awful but tasted awful. You might as well have gotten some vegetable oil and drank it. Disgusting, right?... Also, what Asian place gives you 1/2 cup (if that) of rice with a full order of a curry dish? The spring rolls also came with sauce for only one roll. By the time you got to the second roll the 1 tablespoon of peanut sauce was gone. It had no flavor anyways so I wasn't completely disappointed. We visited this place multiple times since we moved to the neighborhood. The worst experience was the last time during July 4. A Burnett waitress with american flag socks slams dishes onto our table. The same waitress was having major attitude problems last time we were there which we thought was a one time thing. We have been trying to be nice throughout the time we were there. We both ordered the vegan KEO stir fry with tofu. It was really really good. After trying a couple of other great vegan main courses on the menu in past visits I am happy to have discovered this. Have been eating here for years and always liked the food(hate the atmosphere).Recently however I ordered the tuna and was very shocked. The tuna was mushy,obviously frozen, with and acrid taste of freezer burn. Plus the veg. on this $26 dollar entree were three tiny spigs of broccoli and and smattering of shaved carrot. REALLY? Keo is not my "white whale," but my "Jekyll and Hyde." And here is why... I have eaten now, at Keo, four times. The first time was.. well.. orgasmic. I thought that I had died and gone to curry heaven. I even forgot how I initially thought the prices were a touch pricey and proudly proclaimed Keo the best of all time and would proudly sell my soul for another bowl! 10 stars for the temple of Keo! As the saying goes -actually it is a law of physics -what goes up must come down. And boy did Keo ever crash and burn. My second experience was similar in feel to when Hugh Grant got busted for getting a BJ by that transexual hooker in LA. I was embarrassed, shocked, feeling a tad dirty, and wondering how I ever got myself in this situation. Please.. Please.. Let me explain. After my life altering first experience, I proudly converted to "Keoity" and went in search of other lost souls. I found two friends willing to hear the message of Keoity and had my in-laws baby sit my girls. To save you all from a long story, dinner was a disaster. The appetizers were cold, but not as cold as the service, the rice overcooked, the entrees either too salty or bland. And after what seemed to be the millionth smart ass comment from my friends, I blurted out that the chef (who is co-owner with her husband) must be having martial problems because her food sure showed it. Game - Set - Match .. Meal over. -10 stars to Keo and raze the temple of the false prophet! But John. You went back again? Aye. After months of waiting to see the realtor sign posted in the front door and people continuing to spend their hard earned money there, I realized that Keo was going to make it. Like the curious cat, it pulled me back in. My third experience was ok at best, neither enough to make me believe again or curse the name of Keo whenever I drove/walked by. Thus, my inner cheapskate had me simply chose between Keo and other curry "shacks" in town based on price alone. I chose Thai Siam and Lanna Thai. That was until my fourth trip. Hungry, but not willing to drive, I was hankering for curry and knew that Keo was my only option. Thus, price aside (Hungry John trumps Cheapskate John every time,) I decided to give them the proverbial "last straw try." I went with something simple, Green Curry w/ Tofu (extra Thai chilis) and white rice. I was not disappointed and actually remembered back to that period of time when it was so easy to believe. Keo serves their curries in a soup-like fashion with it not being too thick (like Tavin's) nor too thin (like Thai Siam.) It was perfect and reminded me of what you would get on the west coast. The tofu was silky and the vegetables prepared just right. The kicker was the rice. Each piece was separate with no exploded husks. The flavor was dynamite. This one simple dish has made me want to believe again and most definitely did enough to entice my speedy return. read more

I'm always a bit cautious about Asian fusion places, but my BF and I gave this a try based on the Yelp reviews and on its ambiance. On a balmy late summer evening, we walked Brookside looking for a quiet, pleasant place to eat a light meal outside. This being Tulsa, that was pretty impossible to find, so we settled for a quiet, pleasant place where we could eat a light meal inside. Service was quite good--casual without being too casual, friendly without being too friendly, and responsive to requests. Our server was also attentive -- he noticed when our drinks were getting low, for example, and when we might have needed some more jalapeños or other accoutrements for our pho. As others have mentioned, the complimentary edamame starter was a nice touch. The food was tasty. We ordered three things and shared: the pho to start, the rendang, and the green curry. The standout was really the beef rendang, which was flavorful and tender. The green curry was quite good, if a little light on chicken, and more soupy than other curries I've had. It could have used a bit more curry paste -- I wanted a deeper flavor profile than what was offered. And perhaps a bit more spice. The pho was lovely. Deep, rich broth with very fresh accoutrements, including a young jalapeno that must have been sliced 10 seconds before it was brought to our table, as it knocked the socks off of both of us! We very much enjoyed our entire experience at Keo, and we will be back. The next time, though, we will stick to the Malaysian and Vietnamese dishes on the menu, which in our first experience here stood out more than the Thai curry. Positives: * Quiet, peaceful ambiance, especially considering the strange space they had to work with. * Brown rice! * Temp in the restaurant was perfect -- I was not frozen by the AC. One of my favorite restaurants in Tulsa. The food and service is consistent and great. Now I am a little biased because my roommate works here, but that also means I've eaten just about everything on the menu. My favorites are: Tuna Nachos - Seared tuna on cripsy wonton chips with sauteed bell peppers and then drizzled with hoisin & sriacha aioli, I can make a meal out of these. Tom Ka - The very first dish I ever had from Keo, best Tom Ka I've had, and probably one of the best things I've ever eated. Pho - The broth is so flavourful and delicous it could eat just it, but then throw in some beef, sprouts, basil, and hoisin, mouthgasmic. Perfect on a cold day or if you're feeling under the weather. The stir fries and curries are also top notch. The green curry is my favorite, a little sweet, a bit of spice, and veggies that have just the right amount of crunch. read more

We stumbled upon this place because Sonoma was packed, and I'm so glad we did. Its an up scale Asian restaurant that is not a copy of Changs. The drinks were strong and the prices were very good. The food was outstanding though the service was slow because the didn't seem to be enough servers. The dipping sauces were excellent and the KEO sampler platter is one tasty treat after the other. If you call for reservations, ask for a table that is past the kitchen and bathrooms. The owner is always willing to accommodate. I love this place, I would recommend NOT getting the Pad Thai though. One of the better Asian style restaurants in Tulsa. Basically at a P.F Chang's price you get a more adventurous menu, a more intimate atmosphere, and generally a more sophisticated dining experience. Our waiter was very quick and efficient. The edamame brought out was a nice touch, not too many Asian restaurants provide a free appetizer, especially a slightly upscale place. I ordered the Thai Green Curry and was surprised when it arrived. The Asian fusion places I'd been to before generally served some meat on a pile of veggies with a little coconut milk. Not here! It was served in a bowl, like a soup. It came with a spoon and a small bowl of rice. Pleasantly spicy, it was not overwhelming and the coconut milk was a great way to counter the heat. Very tasty when paired with the brown rice. My date got the Pad Thai and thought it was delicious. I tried it and didn't care for the noodles so much; they came off as a bit slimy to me, but overall it wasn't too bad. If you like noodles well cooked in oil, this is a great dish for you, but if not you probably will find it to be a little too greasy. Overall it's not that big a deal since Keo has a decent variety of foods. Something for everyone can be found here. I would recommend this place to people who avoid eating meat since most of the entrees could be prepared with tofu. It's a slight step up in price from P.F Changs, but the atmosphere between the two is night and day. Nestled on Brookside, this place has a much better ambiance and is a good way to beat the Tulsa crowds which beat a path to any and all chain restaurants. read more

Combining influences from Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Malaysia you are sure to find flavors and dishes you've not experienced anywhere else in Tulsa. Visiting Tulsa, looking for something yummy and we found it. The Tom Yum was as good as I have had anywhere, fresh and delicious (my favorite Thai soup)! Vegetables were crisp and flavorful. Went with the Thai Sweet Basil for an entree and loved it too. Excellent bar and wine list and our waiter was excellent also. Found it his place by accident, but will certainly go back when in Tulsa. Oh Keo... Where to start. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean inside. We received pretty good service, but that is kind of what I expected since we were only two of 6 people in the whole place. The food the food.....Well I had the KEO house stir fry and it wasn't bad by any means, however it reminded me of stir fry that my mom would make when I was a kid. Really it wasn't impressive and the more I think about it I was (and still am) kinda let down. The wife had the green curry with assorted seafood. Now I am a big fan of green curry and this one was pretty tasty. One odd thing (or I thought so) was that there was salmon in the curry and it was pretty damn weird for lack of a better explanation. KEO is just ok for me. I've been twice and both times they were out of different items I wanted to order. The food I have had has been generally good, and there has been only one thing I really didn't care for, but there also hasn't been anything that stood out so much I feel like I have to go back. The best thing I've had is the beef crepe. I'd definitely order it again if I found myself there, but I wouldn't make a special trip and pay a premium price for it. The first time I went the service was fine, if unremarkable. The second time I went, there were only a few people in the place but they seated us right next to another group and then another couple on the other side of that group, so basically everyone in the restaurant was literally about 2 feet from from everyone else. I realize that makes it easier on the wait staff, but it also wasn't conducive to a relaxing date, knowing everyone else could hear your conversation and you theirs. They do bring you complementary edemame, and that is nice, particularly since the service is pretty leisurely. So anyway, if I were with people who wanted to go, I'd say sure, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to go back on my own. It seems like the emphasis at Keo is on decor, cute hostesses, and seeming trendy, rather than on actual service and great food. read more

Visiting from out of town and found this little place. Everyone raved about their food and was very happy with what they ordered. Everything was very flavorful. Everyone tried a different soup dish and they were amazing. My daughter got the banana desert and ate here every bit so, apparently was delicious as well. Service was great!
