This place was pretty quaint. I liked the decor and the food was decent. I ordered ramen. I don't think I would order it if I visited again. My husband ordered sashimi. Unfortunately, a large party with a lot of children came and it completely changed the atmosphere. The servers becamr 95% focused on the large group and 5% on everyone else. Also, the parents were not watching the children and they were running around the restaurant. All in all, it took way too long for my husband's sushi to come and we just wanted to get out by the time we finished eating. I am hoping the experience was just a fluke. read more

Called in 1.5 hours earlier to pick up a large order at 7 pm. Got to the restaurant at 7 and the lady at the front said that the chef wasn't able to start the order because they forgot to set the clock back (daylight savings). Lady wasn't apologetic at all. Said she'd give us free miso soup for the inconvenience. Am not satisfied with free miso soup that probably costs .01 cents to make. The order came out twenty minutes later. She then proceeded to give me my food in a white plastic bag. There is clearly soy sauce spilling inside of it. She told me she could repack the bag of food but it will take time. I don't understand why she didn't just repack the food before giving it to me. The bag was already in my hand as I proceeded to hover it away from leaking over my shoes. So Kenzo is a pretty good sushi place I recommend if you live in the area or staying for a little bit at the resort or hotels near by. It's small and intimate and the sushi tastes great! Side note they are better when you dine in then do take out so you can have the full experience and have the sushi fresh as possible. read more

We came on a Friday night around 8pm for dinner. The restaurant was about 50% full and we didn't have to wait to be seated. Our service was friendly but we didn't have one server, we were helped by several waiters in addition to the hostess, so it was a bit confusing. However, shortly after sitting we were able to place our order - 2 rolls (rainbow & dragon) and the sashimi regular. Our food took quite a while to arrive, close to 45 minutes. Once it arrived the server did apologize for the long wait. The portions were great and the prices were very reasonable. The food itself was tasty too! Definitely not the best sushi I've ever had but it was decent for the price. Overall, this place deserves 4 stars for the good prices and decent portions. This is our new favorite place! I had the lunch bento box and everything was absolutely perfect. No complaints whatsoever. My husband, who is pretty picky about food, loved his teriyaki filet mignon and actually said he wants to come back ASAP. First time here and they didn't disappoint. My wife and I went for our anniversary. When we entered we were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. They weren't busy as they had just reopened from lunch and it was the middle of the week. The inside is cozy and a lot bigger than we were expecting from the looks on the outside. We ordered spring rolls to start. Nothing fancy, but they were good and they came out fast. For dinner, we ordered three rolls. A Manhattan Roll, and Dynamite Roll, and a another I forgot the name of. They were all delicious. They stayed together well and didn't fall apart when we picked them up (a pet peeve). We'll definitely be back. We will have to try the hibachi dinners. They don't have the tables as other bigger restaurants have, but they did have hibachi on the menu. read more

Fantastic Sushi. Well worth a visit despite the marginal service. Sushi is large, fresh, and beautiful. The one habachi dinner our party ordered was excellent. Even our one "sushi hater" loved her house special fried rice. The problem here is marginal service. He was quick to take our order, and some of the Sushi came out quickly, but the kitchen items were VERY slow. Most of the table had consumed 2 rounds of Sushi and everything else when the above mentioned Fried rice was finally delivered (I really think they had lost the order). The server never checked our beverages - we had to repeatedly ask for refills and our check. But the Sushi is SO GOOD - it's worth putting up with the service here. read more

So, you cannot judge this place by the outside! It is literally a door and small window in the corner, but the place is decently sized inside. The rolls were great! They were tightly rolled, and did not fall apart when you picked them up. The fish was fresh, and had such a good flavor that I hardly used any soy sauce. For what we got, the prices were lower than comparable restaurants in the Buford area: spicy tuna roll, rainbow roll, Alaskan roll, side of fried rice, ginger salad, and two hot green teas was about $37. The server was very nice and attentive. We never had to ask for water or tea refills, and she was very helpful with explaining the flavor of some of the specialty rolls. They do not deliver, but that's ok because they are within walking distance from my house. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our sushi here a couple nights ago. We are plant based and I was thrilled to see a Vegan roll along with avocado roll in the menu. It removes the stress out of dining out for me (and the server) which is how dining out should be! We will order both rolls again. All rolls had very good quality sushi rice too, yum! We also had the veggie roll which was good but the other were our favorites. The vegan roll was close to a vegan roll I enjoyed at R& D in Dallas but with macadamia nuts and the ponzu sauce. Absolutely the best vegan roll I have ever had. Only thing I wish was different is they do not provide the option to remove the fish sauce from the miso soup to provide a plant based option. We were told there was no fish sauce upon ordering then when the server brought it she said there was fish sauce in it. My husband ate it anyway but he said it was not good and very fishy tasting too. Most restaurants provide the option but for some reason not here and the Only reason I did not give this restaurant 5 stars. The ambience was lovely and we ate here at 745 pm and groups were still coming when we left. Lovely quiet restaurant with dinner music that we will return to. It is a great place to eat with friends for conversation and good food. read more

I am a sushi nut. I have tasted it around the states and once I stopped flying everywhere and parked my butt in Buford Georgia I wanted to find a perfect sushi place to call my own. That was 20 years ago. After all that time, sushi places have come and gone. Most by management changes that have dropped customer service for profit. Then about 6 months ago I found Kenso. Unfortunately the location is not the best as being at the back of a strip mall. But maybe that's a good thing as it keeps it out of the eyes of tourists? As for the food, it's almost a perfect 10. About a 9.8 as some of the seafood used has been slightly Frozen. But you are going to be hard pressed to find a sushi place with 100% fresh seafood that is not on the coast. I tried a sushi with scallop on it the other day an it felt like I had a stick of butter in my mouth. Didn't taste like Butter but melted in my mouth, soft to chew, great seafood taste but not a heave salt or frozen feel. The best I have EVER eaten! Also try the shrimp Tempura appetizer. Came here on the hunt for good sushi and I was definitely pleased! The experience was quite authentic (for me at least, I was just interested in eating on my break). I ordered the rainbow roll and it was served on a nice, clean board with wasabi and ginger. I haven't had good sushi in awhile and I blame that on the mall of Georgia.
