    Ken's Kindling is great ! You get a lot for your money and its superb kindling that burns nice and makes it very easy to start a fire !

Seems like they did a good job, took around 1-1.5 hrs, however left a lot of dust and debris after on my kitchen counter and on the bed in the bedroom after they left. One big tip skip the promo emails. The deals you get by contacting them directly are much better than what's advertised in those marketing blasts. Booking and pricing experience Communication was easy and transparent. No aggressive upselling, no pressure to add unnecessary services. They also offer solid incentives if you schedule on a weekend and are flexible with payment options, which I appreciated. Service experience The crew showed up on time and finished everything efficiently in about two hours. They did not show up with flashy uniforms or branded trucks, but honestly that mattered far less than the quality of the work. They clearly knew what they were doing and moved with purpose. They went the extra mile by pulling out the dryer and cleaning it thoroughly from the inside, not just the vent line. Bathroom exhaust fans were cleaned properly as well, which is something a lot of companies rush through. Results This is a relatively newer house so there wasn't a ton of buildup, but the work was done cleanly and professionally. No mess left behind and no shortcuts taken. Final verdict If you want honest work, fair pricing, and zero sales nonsense, Duct Pros is an easy recommendation. I would book them again without hesitation.

He told me…read moreexactly what I needed to do for safety and to protect my house, and different options with transparent pricing based on whether I planned to use the furnace vs just keep the chimney and house safe. He showed me where other people were trying to sell me "fixes" I didn't need. He patiently answered all my questions as an uneducated but curious homeowner comparing multiple quotes. He responded quickly to all texts and calls and was always very kind and generous with his time. The quote for the work I decided to do was similar / less than another company I looked at and Mr Chimney seemed like a far more professional company in terms of communication, presenting options, estimate, etc. Their office seems understaffed (maybe just 1 person working there?), but Erica is super nice and sent the estimate and scheduled the job...best to call her because they must be overwhelmed with email and I didn't get a response to email. The day of the work, the workers came on time, were super nice and explained everything and answered all my questions. They were supposed to do a number of repairs including fix my damper. They unfortunately said the damper couldn't be fixed but they were able to close it and I don't plan to use the fireplace, so they removed the charge whereas other companies might have charged me just for getting it to move enough to close fully or tried to talk me into replacing it. They simply presented the options and their costs and said I could decide later if I decide to use the fireplace. The workers were neat and clean, worked efficiently, and the chimney looks brand new after their repairs. After the work, I was cleaning leaves out of my gutters, and thought I saw some cement dust that had blown into the gutters during the work and was worried it could turn to cement in the rain and clog my gutters. I called Martin and he sent his workers back the next day to clean it up. He told me actually it was not cement dust but some debris from the roof but his team kindly cleaned it out anyway to assuage my concern-- truly old fashioned customer-centered values which is rare in this day and age. I thought I had an appointment confirmed but then I was told because I didn't call someone back it was cancelled..then they showed up?? The guys were nice. Eli explained what they were doing. They were quick and efficient and they left everything clean. They did a great job. They explained what they did and what they saw that might need work And at that point, they walked out the door with a five star review. Here's where it gets dicey. When they came, my flue was open. Being widowed I've learned to make fires but I have never opened or shut the flue. It was open when they got there and when they left the last thing they said was "OK now you can make a fire". But they didn't tell me that they had shut the flue or damper. I didn't know it was a thing until I made a fire and my house filled up with smoke. Opening all the doors and windows didn't work. The fire alarm kept going off. I couldn't make it stop. I shut the glass on the fireplace. Ended up having to call the fire department. I had to get my cats and throw them out in the rain and wait outside. The fire dept confirmed the flue was closed. They opened it and they brought in big fans to air the smoke out of my house. It's still smell smoky. The worst thing is this was super traumatic for me. I didn't know why the house was smoky I didn't know what to do. I didn't have my husband or anyone to help and I was panicked. It was a really horrible experience except for the hot firefighters lol. Based on that they would get zero stars so I gave them 2

    We had Randy come out to service our SPARK 88NE that was installed new by a contractor in 2015 and…read morehad never been thoroughly cleaned. We also felt the flame was too low and more blue than yellow. We bought this place in 2017 so we felt it was time we had someone check it out. Randy was on time and he spent a total of about three hours taking the fireplace apart, cleaning it, making a few adjustments and putting it back together. Total cost was just under $1,000!!! We just gulped and paid, figuring we'd gone 7 years without really touching the thing. Unfortunately, after Randy left we noticed an odd flame rising above the area where the pilot light sits. We contacted Randy and he said he'd have to call SPARK to get their feedback on the odd flame. I waited a few days and hearing nothing from Randy, I contacted SPARK myself and sent them a picture of the odd flame. SPARK replied saying everything was fine, but that Randy had improperly adjusted something and just needed to readjust it. I sent SPARK's reply to Randy and he responded saying he'd be out "on Friday" to make things right. Friday came and no Randy. I contacted him and he said there must have been a misunderstanding - there wasn't, as I had his email. He said he had another customer nearby and he was waiting on a part for that customer, so he'd contact me as soon as he had the part and was coming this way again. That was early Nivember. I heard nothing for weeks so I reached out a week ago to find out when Randy could return. I was then contacted by his partner/assistant, who informed me Randy was unfortunately in a bad accident and would probably be out of commission for several weeks. Obviously it is beyond Randy's control that he's injured and needs time to recover, but we're still shocked that after paying nearly $1,000 for three hours of service (no parts) back on October 31, 2024, there has been no real effort on the part of Kidd Fireplace to make things right for us. We've had to do all the contacting, research with the manufacturer, etc. We've been very patient as well. Sadly there seem to be very few NFI Certified technicians here in Northern California so Randy Kidd is literally the only game, an unreliable game at that, in town.

However this June the light bulb burned out. I called Kidd fireplace & they replaced it for free ( under warranty) and I was able to get an appointment the next week. They seemed very competent and knew what they were talking about with my fireplace. They were hard working, congenial, and courteous while at my house. I really appreciated how quickly they did the repair and answered all my questions about the fireplace insert. They really went above and beyond. They cleaned the fireplace and refreshed all the embers.
