Kennedy Pest and termite was used on a home in Oceanside. They did a poor inspection in the attic. Did not mask Pellets or evidence after the fumigation nor did they find all the areas in the attic space. Their repairs were horrible. Looks like they just filled all the areas in quickly with bondo. They didn't even try to closely match the paint. Just used primer. I would not recommend. read more

I would highly encourage you and your family to not use this company. They endangered my family home with large levels of carbon monoxide gases from poorly monitored heat treatment. I spoke to the owner and he told me there is nothing can be done and tried to create a story that somehow it was my fault as I was not even in the house during the time of the treatment. We can always trust Paul to give us the pros and cons of different treatment options and explain how to correct the problem ourselves if that is the most cost-effective route to go. Unethical company. DO NOT use kennedy pest control. They missed or intentionally overlooked a beam on the eve of my house in the pre-purchase inspection. They treated a few beams near the roof and said the house was clear and treated. After my home purchase I told them about the termite rotted beam I found at the roofline which I could clearly see while standing in my back yard. DO NOT USE KENNEDYS for termite inspections. They do not back the inspections. We closed escrow based on their recommendations that the home we were buying did not need to be tented. 30 days into the home we have them back out to tell us they missed Termite spots and the home needs to be tented. Now we have to fork out $1500 to have the house tented. The inspector admitted several times that it was his mistake and missed it but they aren't responsible and don't have to honor there inspections. The termite damage is in plain sight in the living room that the incompetent inspector missed. The seller would have been responsible for the cost of tenting had Kennedys done their job correctly. Rather than honoring their original quote to spot treat the house for $690 they offered a small credit of $200 which won't even cover our hotel fair for the 2 nights we are now put out due to their negligence. We worked hard to have this resolved by their team and wanted to come to a reasonable agreement to resolve the gross neglect of their inspector and manager but they refused to back there inspection.We will be filing a complaint with the SPCB as well. read more

This company is operating a scam. What they are doing is very unethical. They send somebody out and then give you a report of work that needs to be done. And if you do not do the work with them they find all kinds of things wrong with the work that was done therefore not signing off on the sale of the house. The team showed up the first morning and tried to disassemble the private driveway gate in order to access the property. Clearly illegal and unacceptable. I had a very unfortunate experience with Kennedy Pest Control today. While going to my local convenience store this morning at 9 am to refill my purified water jugs, I was getting out of my car when a Kennedy Pest Control employee asked me if I had worked there since it was closed. I told him no, I was just here to fill my water jugs in their water filtration station outside the store in the parking lot. Not thinking much of it, I proceeded to unload my three water jugs from my car and fill them up individually. It was about three minutes after my first interaction with the Kennedy representative while loading the first filled water jug in my car and the second one being filled, I noticed a different smell in the air. When I returned to the water station, I saw that the Kennedy employee had started spraying some treatment on the ground right next to the water station. Now, as someone who has a yearly subscription to another pest control service, I have been told that these sprays can be hazardous to breathe in for the first 10-15 minutes after they are applied to an area, so I was shocked at how cavalier this Kennedy employee was when just moments before asked me if I worked at the convenience store and saw that I was filling up my water jugs. Now, I don't think it would have been that big of a deal for him to 1. wait for me to leave to begin the treatment or 2. kindly tell me he needed to do this treatment as he had a busy day and ask if I would mind. Instead of what he ultimately did, he just began his work without considering me being in the vicinity. I wouldn't say I like leaving this review, but I feel compelled as there was a blatant disregard for my well-being as I was filling up my drinking water. read more

Kennedy Pest Control had been until this morning my pest control company for more than 15 years. I had no issue with the service as far as monthly mitigation/external spraying was concerned. It was logical that I would choose them for my termite infestation. I was actually inspected twice, once pre-covid then again afterward. The same inspector and I knew that there was significant wood damage in the eaves of the house that would require replacement. I also knew that the contract language states that the inspection was all visual and perhaps additional damage might be discovered at time of actual repair. I was fully prepared to have additional charges if such damage was discovered. The tenting went well although I find it interesting that the fumigation was outsourced to another company. On the first day of the wood repair, I met the work crew who commenced the repairs. After a couple of hours, I inquired about progress including their hand-ons on assessment of the extent of damage. They told me there were areas that were beyond patching and should be replaced. I immediately contacted the inspector whose initial response was "they always say that". I reiterated to him that I was not interested in a patch when replacement was indicated. He then told me for the first time that it was "illegal" for them to do any additional work other than what was dictated in his visual inspection. The conversation ended with his comment "they can call me if they find something". I returned to the crew who communicated with me that they would "get in trouble" if they pointed out additional damage. The red-flag in these conversations became obvious. I then engaged a painting and repair contractor who visited even while the Kennedy workmen were still there and confirmed extensive damage particularly in the second story eaves which were neither identified visually in the preliminary inspection or physically inspected by the Kennedy workmen. After the Kennedy workmen completed their work, I once again contacted the inspector who grudgingly visited again. Remarkably, even after showing him the extensively damaged wood not attended to, he stood his ground that those areas could be patched and painted. I do have photos of the wood removed by the painting contractor showing trans-mural termite damage that . I contacted the Kennedy Pest office to request a discussion with a manager or owner about my unpleasant experience. The receptionist told me that would be John Kennedy and that she would forward my request to him but that I would have to realize that he was on vacation! That was 5 days ago. I would caution anyone considering using this company for termite mitigation to understand the limitations of a superficial inspection. Read your contract carefully and make no assumption that Kennedy Pest Control will do the right thing to meet your expectations. read more

Kennedy was quick to come out to reinspect my home for termites. I was on a time crunch for the 10 day inspection window entering in escrow. The seller's company that inspected the property, did not have a ladder or a long stick to poke the roof of the home. Kennedy was able to find a lot more damage that the previous hired company, which saved me a lot of money having the seller repair all the damage. Justin was friendly to work with and he was very knowledgeable. When renovating the house, there was a bit of a collapse in guest bedroom #1 when walking on the floor by the window. There was termite damage and some moisture damage. Unfortunately, the inspector was not able to find it because he did the outside of the house. The tenting of the house definitely killed all of the termites but I would recommend having the inspector do a thorough walk through of the inside of the home to save you some trouble in the future. If I would have know, I would have had the seller fix the flooring before closing escrow. Overall, happy with Kennedy pest control and their work on the exterior and tenting. read more

To everyone thinking of getting their service, or if you already have it, just be aware that they have a habit of messing up on addresses and they'll end up treating your neighbor's house instead of yours. I spoke to my neighbor about it and they said they saw someone spraying their house, and told them that it's the wrong house AFTER the job was done. I called customer service, and they denied this, saying that they were at the right house, while I am dealing with an ant outbreak, and they refused to fix their mistake. Because according to their GPS, they were at the right place. But my neighbor's house is like 10ft away, no GPS in it's right mind can really pinpoint which house they're at. And even if, for all I know, they could've found a parking spot at my house, and went to the neighbor's. Also, be weary when you call, I spoke to Vanessa and she's extremely rude. read more

The office staff is rude. Ive been a customer for about 3 years and started having ants inside due the heat. Kennedy's has always said that they will come back out and spray whenever we would need them to. I called to get an extra spray, they wouldn't come since my regular scheduled spray was in 3 days. 3 days later, no show. I called to see what had happened, and they said I was scheduled for a week later. Then they promised that somebody would be there at 8:30 the next morning. Again, no show. At this point I went out and bought my own pesticide. I left messages, never got a call back. Then several weeks later a guy knocks on my door to do my regularly scheduled spray. I turned him away and told him that nobody from the office has called me back. Rec'd a call about 1/2 hour later. Too little, way too late. Whenever I was able to get ahold of somebody they'd apologize and blame their "new system". Poor customer service. Glad I was able to finally cancel my service as it wasn't great to begin with. read more

The company itself seems to be okay. We got our house tented for termites and they used San Diego Fumigation (I guess there only a few actual fumigation companies in the area). They were okay, but did not know they would be digging up alot of dirt from the yard and using that as weight for the tarp. Kennedy did mention that some plants close to house may be adversely affected by the chemicals, which I understood. However, the workers just ripped out one mature plant near house, which had similar plants right next to it. When asked why they did that, they had no answer. Then I had to constantly ask for some compensation so I could replace the plant. It took over 1-1/2 months to finally get something and then it doesn't cover the cost of the mature plant, plus now I have to spend time taking out what is left of the old plant and planting new one. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I believe it is the particular sprayer who is assigned to our house that is dropping the ball. We have had Kennedy Pest Control for years, and our original monthly pest control guy was awesome. He would always ring our doorbell, let us know he was here and ask if there were any areas of concern. We were so happy with this service, because we had a bad ant and spider problem both inside and outside our home. He must have quit, and there has been a rotation of sprayers. It seems the official guy assigned to our house is doing the absolute bare minimum. He never rings our doorbell, our ring app shows him only spraying the front of our house and never going to the side of our house where the gate is to enter our backyard. It never appears that he makes a loop around our house either since we do have 2 gates. My husband and I work from home so we have noticed we never see him in the backyard. We havent complained yet, because we havent had issues - until this past month where we were charged, but he never even showed up. We were grateful that they scheduled another spray date at no charge, and we gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was a new guy again or something. Nope, same guy came and did the same bare minimum job. We had someone else come to our door less than 20 minutes from when the ring app showed kennedy pest control showing up and placing the invoice on our door. If this continues, we will end our service with this company. So disappointed. read more

They don't return phone calls. I finally ended up communicating with them thru my realtor. They were recommended by my realtor but I would advise not to use them. I was working out of town. My wife dealt with the guy doing the inspection. He seemed like a nice guy on the phone. The problem is that he over estimated the repairs. His estimate was $1095. I was at home when the (2) guys came to do the repairs. They were there for (2) hours and all they did was bondo some rafter tails and facia boards. They did a horrible job and didn't even clean up their mess. I complained about being overcharged so they deducted $495 and I ended up paying $600. Still rediculously overpriced. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else. read more
