I was looking for a termite company that could not only fumigate my house, but also repair significant termite damage. After a few quotes, I decided to go with Absolute Termite. The bid was super competitive and the communication was excellent. I was a bit apprehensive that the repairs would only be Bondo patches and not replacing the really damaged wood. However, the highly experienced crew came out and replace lots of damaged fascia and a large piece of siding. I had a beam that I was concerned about because it was really damaged. They cut away all of the damaged beam and fabricated a replacement out of all new wood and installed it. It looks great! Another company said they were just going to cut it off and let my roof hang. Yikes! Normally they repaint the repairs to match. However, I was getting my house painted right afterwards so told them just to prime the new wood, which they did. The fumigation team was great! They made sure everything was secure and bagged before they started and then texted me when my house was ready to enter. Awesome! These guys were highly recommended by my Exterminator. We were worried because of the bad experience our neighbors had. Having received a bid from out existing pest control service that was very high (several small areas needing treatment, no tenting) from a pushy sales guy who became defense and irritated when I said we hadn't received the bid, I contact Absolute due to their reviews and recommendations. Mother, Marie sent the bid (drastically lower than the first one) & another team & different son did the work. I am so impressed with these guys, I won 100% would refer them to anyone. We had water damage from a storm, had to demo a bathroom and found termite damage in the beams/attics. Our friend referred them to us & now they use them for yearly maintenance. David came out right away, assessed the situation and got us on the schedule as soon as possible. Highly recommended! Before we heard of Absolute Termite we had another company come out and do an inspection. We were told we'd have to tent the house and quoted a price of $3500. A realtor suggested we call Absolute for a second opinion. Absolute came out and did a thorough inspection and told us there was absolutely no reason to tent. I think when you're looking for any contractor to work on your home, the most important thing is always going to be honesty and integrity. I don't know anything about termites or termite repair, so to some extent, any contractor has the potential to take the upper hand, and I'm sure a lot of companies would and do take serious advantage of their customers because they know the customer lacks knowledge or experience. Absolute Termite is truly a rare exception. We called him out because he had performed the initial termite inspection on our home prior to us purchasing it in 2013. He was hired by the sellers to inspect but not repair damages. What he found was clear evidence that the sellers had covered up significant termite damage in order to pass inspection and limit necessary repairs. Two years later we were left with a serious termite problem. Because we were under the 3 year warranty, all Absolute Termite was obligated to do was localized treatment of the termite infested areas, but David's opinion was that our house really needed to be tented. And instead of upselling us on a tenting, he opted to provide the tenting and repairs at cost. He encouraged me to get in touch with the sellers and demand that they pay a portion, and he documented all the areas that were covered up in the initial inspection. He spoke with their lawyers on our behalf and probably put more time into our house - for no profit - than he does any other house. He renewed our three year warranty and finally, as if that all wasn't enough, he decided to do the repair work for free - saving us well over $1000. I am still shocked at how above and beyond David, Maria, and their crew went to make things right for us. It was a messy situation with the sellers, but we simply could not have been more fortunate to have Absolute Termite working on our side. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone I know without hesitation. I contracted Absolute Termite Control because I needed to have a termite inspection and any repairs completed as I prepared to sell my home. They did not believe the home needed a full tenting, just spot treatment and repairs. An alternate company suggested full tenting as just 'a good idea' just in case - but that would have cost double the cost and possibly damaged the roof. I chose Absolute because it is a family business, had very good reviews and I was impressed by their very professional and thorough inspector, Brayden. During the repair process, there were some quality issues that I was dissatisfied with and wanted corrected. The response: Total professionalism. They doubled the crew on-site, corrected any and all concerns, and the owner of the company actually came out to discuss the job with me and told me they would 'make it right'. They did, and that may speak far more than just a generally good review. I could not have asked for a more complete response and addressing of my concerns. I would suggest customers state to repairmen upon arrival that the expectation is repair completed in a very aesthetic manner restoring the appearance to as close to original as possible. Due to seeing other good reviews I thought it would be worthwhile for them to give me a bid. They were about the third company to give me a bid and it was lower than some of the other ones, but I noticed the report was not calling out some items that the other companies did. So I figured I would go and inspect for myself and sure enough, they clearly missed some significant areas. So I called David back to ask him about it, and he admitted that he was not the one that crawled under the house, but rather one of his guys. He apologized and asked if he could come out and do another inspection to try and make it right. I really appreciated that even though some things were originally missed. He came out again and was eager to make it right, once again he had one of his guys go under the house to do the inspection. This time his guy clearly found the areas that needed some significant work. I asked about a more comprehensive treatment and he said he would be able to do it but that it would cost a little more. I told him that was fair and planned on proceeding with the work. He told me he would need four days to do the work, and that I could schedule the work with his wife. When his wife called to schedule the work she only scheduled it for two days. I told her that when David was over he said he would need 4 days. She said she would have to get back with me. The next thing I heard from them is they would have to decline the work. I think that is a horrible way to run a business and it is probably for the better because it looks like they like to take shortcuts and if you ask for any details, they don't seem to want to give them, and in this case, they just back out of what they said they would do. I fortunately found a much better company in Escondido. As a homeowner I would certainly check any work they did, and if you just bought a house and they did the work I would be particularly vigilant. read more

The only problem we had was that the day they were coming to do the work they were supposed to arrive at 9am. Did not show up until 3 hours later. OK--David called me 5/23/16 today and we had a good talk and he promised to get back to my house "himself" and get the job done right. He told me he fired one of the crew that worked on my house and that was most of the problem. I asked David to have a talk with his wife about how to handle upset customers. You never argue with an unset customer, you yes them and then take care of the problems, you don't tell them, "we gave you a discount or we're busy with escrows that need to be done". When you already paid, you want what you paid for. Bottom line: If there's a problem, talk with David, he's a great guy and will fix it, that's what he does. I got upset because I wasn't communication with David, I was with his wife, that needs a little training. I've been in the service business since I was 17, now 76, and know how to handle upset customers----it's an art. The team from Absolute Termite treated the house and did a great deal of repair before our house was painted. We were told that the way to insure eradication was to tent the house. Unfortunately, our house is attached to two others and the owners chose not to tent. A few months later, during swarming season, it was apparent that there were still some pesky critters in the house and Rudy and the guys from Absolute came out to put an end to the infestation. They had to work in our small, intensely hot attic and did so without complaint. Everyone from the Maria in the office and each of the technicians were always cheerful, polite, and very professional. First Yelp post... I figured these guys are worth it! I called Absolute Termite Control after noticing some termite "droppings" below a ledger attached to the exterior of our home where the previous owner had built an overhang over the outdoor bar. David and another tech were out the very next day to do an inspection. They did a complete home inspection (exterior, garage, attic, etc.) and were able to determine that the damage was isolated in one single board mounted to the side of the house. David & I agreed this was something I could remove myself and no further treatment would be necessary. They left without charging me a dime! David & his tech were very polite & honest. They did not try to upsell me on something I didn't need. He could have told me my whole house needed to be fumigated and I would have been none the wiser.
