When I was younger I used to go to this place all the time. I loved the big fish tank and their chicken fingers. Today I used the drive thru of this establishment. The girl who took my order seemed nice so, the staff are at least nice. The food wasn't that pricey, only totaled to 17 dollars for my family and I(Two kids meals, one adult) . I got a kids meal as I wasn't very hungry. It took a while for the food to come out, but I had some hope leftover. The food came out hot and fries were not salted at all with mediocre chicken. What happened to this place?? As a kid it was the go to place for seafood, today not even close!! Frozen scallops with water dripping out of the batter was gross. The plate was tiny, soggy fries and a sad bunch of onion rings. We will never go there again especially after blowing $70. read more

I do like this place a lot. The staff has always been incredibly friendly, and I'm embarrassed to say some are starting to recognize me and know my order. The wait is never too long and the food is consistently delicious. That being said, it is a little more on the pricey side, especially considering how many great roast beef places we have around here that are significantly cheaper. I always wanted to try it because I've exhausted every fast-food take-out joint in the area during this pandemic and I figured it was a step up. I was wrong! My husband had the chicken sandwich and I had the crab meat sandwich. Big mistake. The bread it came with was cold and soggy...on both sandwiches. The french fries were bland, and also a bit soggy. Husband had to ask them to toast the bread for him, which they did do. What kind of way is that to serve food? McDonald's has a better chicken sandwich for several dollars less. This restaurant is great! (Second favorite, behind Chili's) It is like a cross between a fast food restaurant and a sit-down one. The original Kelly's, on Revere Beach, is A BIT better, but this one is still really good. They have some fast-food type of foods, and some more fancy foods, it provides plenty for all types of eating styles. I usually get the chicken fingers and french fries, which are DELICIOUS, especially the fries. They also have pizzas, subs, salads, seafood, and of course, roast beef. And the best part of all, is the touch-screen drink machine, with over 100 juices and sodas! Definitely consider eating here if you're close by, or visit the other chains in Saugus, Revere, and Medford! read more

I can't even believe I'm writing this. I have always loved this place. I popped in today while shopping and was so excited to have my fav roast beef sandwich. It's been awhile. I live five minutes away from the original Kelly's on the beach. My first solid food was a Kelly's french fry. This location disappoints me. I've had several bad experiences here, as well as some very horrible roast beef sandwiches from this location. I feel bad if anyone's first Kelly's experience is at this location, it's just not up to par. Paid almost $60 for a clam plate, roast beef sandwich and a soft clam plate. Hubby said his soft clams were ok. My son said his roast beef wasn't very good. It was luke warm and way to rare. My clam plate was also room temp and like rubber. I now know why, When I went to refill my drink I noticed a large tray of clams sitting under a light. With Supreme's in downtown Danvers and Giovanni's right around the corner....Kelly's really needs to step up its game. Maybe start with lowering the prices to a level that resembles reason and value. Came in on a snowy Monday with my son. There was no one else in the restaurant. We got quick, accurate service which was nice, however for the price we paid for dinner, the food should have been better and more plentiful. For a Turkey Club w/bag of chips and Lg fountain soda, and a Kids Chicken Finger meal, and a Milkshake we paid over $24.00. It's good food, but not worth the price. read more

This restaurant is just OK... My biggest gripe is the price of the food. The roast beef is nothing special I could think of ten other places that have better roast beef. One thing I do enjoy here is the Pastrami sandwich and some bacon cheese fries. (not much of a sea food guy, no comment) On another note if you want to take your kids somewhere cool I'd say this would be the spot. They have a giant fish tank that kids stare at for hours. I'm going to start by saying that $ 7.55 for a small roast beef is highway robbery. Especially to someone on the North Shore. Today, I ordered a small beef 3 way MEDIUM RARE for myself and a kids mac & cheese for my son. The beef was medium WELL and to me, I might as well put mayo, cheese and sauce on their napkins and eat that. Pretty good food if you need a quick meal. The roast beef is a bit dry and the buns are a bit stiff. The cheese fries are good as well as the chili and the burgers. Keep in mind, the chili has pulled pork and it a little peppery, but it's good if you like that type of taste. As for the seafood, I would much rather go to the Clam Box of Ipswich. The roast beef is not bad, but their portions are tiny. I just ordered a large roast beef sandwich with bbq sauce. What I got was a small dry sandwich that was gone in about 5 bites. For $11....rip-off. There wasn't enough roast beef to even fill the bun. There are plenty of other options in the area that have better quality food with larger portions for less money. And that give you more than 2 drops of bbq sauce. Funny, another reviewer mentioned they checked their sandwich a few times while eating it to see if there was even any sauce on it.
