I'd like Kelly's to stay in business, truly, but they recently cut half the menu off, including my favorite grilled chicken sandwich. The burgers are good too, but I only came here for the chicken sandwich. They should bring it back if possible, I don't know why they would remove such a solid staple. . My wife and I had awkward lunch at Kelly's Danvers. We didn't mind paying the burger and my modest small sandwich ( ice cream for both of us on a hot summer day) There should be a total for each customer; perhaps even for each item. All of us know the price hikes that are hurting all of us. A business with a goood name and reputation as good as Kelly's should be more transparent . Also there was mindless danger at the entrance. A fellow driving a Bronco turned right against the " DO NoT ENTER " sign. A head on collision could have occurred. There appears to be an epidemic of wrong way drivers inn the Commonwealth. I'm sure Kelly's does not want an incident like that or any publicity or liability. Also as we we eating our lunch we noticed vehicles just taking up space while the operators did not purchase anything. We we sitting next to the drive through. Those vehicles were simply loitering. Also my receipt has a female name on it. The nice guy who waited on us was mid 30's , nice looking and efficient. The fries were fresh and hot, and the roast beefs were good. Not what you'd get from a local mom and pop beef but still above passable. The service is fine but nothing special. Kelly's is a staple, but not worth the visit. The lobster meat was ok, heavily saturated, though with mayonnaise so you couldn't *really* taste it. My husband also tried the roast beef sandwich and it was probably one of the worst we've had in the area. Now this part of Boston is known for roast sandwiches I would honestly recommend going elsewhere instead of a chain restaurant, which doesn't really have that fresh meat and doesn't put a lot of time into the sauce. Kelly's was pretty quick and the people working there were super friendly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure that we were able to have anything we needed however, if you have the chance to go for food, I would recommend going to smaller restaurants with better quality for seafood and roast beef sandwiches. read more

Grew up going to the Revere Kelly's as a kid, have watched over the years the portion size get smaller and smaller in my fish plate. I understand why they'd cut back on the seafood but this last time the onion rings and fries were so sparse. Also I think they change the onion ring recipe, of the 5 that were in my order the batter didn't seem as flaky. Glad at least the fish tank was booming, my kid asks for this place strictly for it. Returned to Danvers location to try their lobster rolls again. This time they asked what we would like with them, offering fries or onion rings. We asked for and got the excellent Wachusett chips instead. They also brought back the plastic forks & napkins. So some welcome small corrections. However confirmed that the kosher pickle will no longer be included. The lobster itself was again very fresh, but there was significantly less meat (and more celery!) in each roll than last time -- very disappointing, considering they were still $36 each. By the way, their Garden Salad has always been excellent. Super fresh with crisp romaine lettuce, red and green peppers, red onion, firm cherry tomatoes. read more

Delicious roast beef sandwich that was better than anything they do at those RB people. Kelly's has all the big chains directly across the street - McDonald's and Burger King and Wendy's and Taco Bell. The bar is high. I got a large roast beef sandwich and it's on a big sesame seed bun. It was delicious. Rare roast beef sliced super thin and piled high. Quite tasty and I enjoyed it much. The cole slaw was just the way I make it at home with light mayo and celery seeds. Delicious. The restaurant is relatively clean and quite comfortable with a huge fish tank in the middle of the dining room, light rock music and a wifi. Horrible horrible changes!! Shame on that company for ruining such a staple! They took a great business and drove it downhill within three months. The Roast Beef is so grizzly it's like chewing rubber. They no longer carry their chicken wings and the onion rings and the fries. They give enough to feed a bird when you order the meal. Unfortunately, it's no longer my go to place for a quick meal when I don't wanna cook during the week. I called and complained about the Roast Beef and there was nothing the manager could do about it. It is what it is. Cheap cuts of meat at high prices. Kelly's has sure gone down hill. The fries use to be massive now it is just about enough for a small bird. Beyond this they removed the ketchup where you could fill your cups and give you one small packet. Time to find a new place to get my roast beef and fries. read more

I've always came to order here before and somehow there's always something missing in my order and I never said anything until today. I came in today to pick up two caesar salads and asked for the dressing on the side. When I went to grab my order, after paying, the cashier told me they ran out of caesar dressing but could give me Italian instead -- which made it sound like the salads didn't have any dressing on them at all. When I checked the bag, I saw the salads already had caesar dressing mixed in, and I also noticed I got charged extra for it. I mentioned it to the employee, but he didn't seem to care at all and called over his manager. The manager came over with a nasty attitude and said, "What's the deal? Why does it matter if the dressing is on it or not?" I told him I had asked for it on the side, and he just said, "I don't care." I was honestly shocked. At that point I asked for a full refund and returned the food, and he repeated again, "I don't care." To be honest, it wasn't even about the dressing or the money, it was about the way they both handled it and not just today with the lack of service. The way he spoke to me was completely uncalled for. I was calm and polite the whole time, but the way I was treated was just rude and unprofessional. I'm sorry but if you're miserable at your job and don't wanna be there, why are you still working there? Stop taking it out on customers. After today, this was the final straw. There is something comforting when you eat a Kelly's roast beef sandwich. Maybe it is the consistency of always getting the exact same tasting sandwich every single time or maybe it is the nostalgia of going to the Revere location oh so many decades ago. In any case, I happened to be in the Danvers area and decided to get a large roast beef sandwich ($10.75) and medium onion rings ($6.25) for a total of $17 plus tax. The sandwich was served on a toasted sesame seed bun which is different than most places I've been to where they serve their large sandwich on a toasted onion roll. The roast beef wasn't rare but It was still quite tasty and the best thing about Kelly's is that they don't "over-sauce" their sandwiches where you end up with a big mess on your hands. What can I say about their onion rings? Although not a fan of their batter, it is still quite tasty and they were fired nice and crispy without being too too greasy. I can't believe I am saying this but there was so much I probably could have gotten the small size and been satisfied. As I sit in the Danvers Kelly's Roast Beef parking lot eating my lunch with the AC on and yacht rock radio cooling down the 95 degree temperature outside I had only one thought looking at all the happy people going in and out - the one thing that would have topped this would have been ordering this at the Revere location and watching all the people like me on the beach attempting to take one last grasp of summer before it comes to an end. I'm home visiting and of course had to hit Kelly's, this time for a roast beef sandwich. We arrived around 7:30pm to find the restaurant pretty empty and quite a few workers chatting behind the counter. After placing our order, we attempted to find a clean booth to sit in, but found that all of the empty booths along the front of the restaurant were filthy. None of the multitude of employees behind the counter attempted to clean any of the booths so I was left wiping down a dirty table and seats with a napkin. We asked to have one of the sandwiches cut in half, but when our server dropped off our food, the sandwich was not cut. His response was, "well, I told them to cut it" and stood there. Instead of offering to take it back and get it sliced, we had to ask him for a knife to cut it ourselves. While I'm still a big fan of the food, I'm extremely disappointed by the management of this location, who is obviously not holding their employees accountable for maintaining the upkeep of the restaurant. read more

Food was ok. The 2 of us went here cause another place we wanted to eat had a wait. One of us got the Large roast beef with cheese and sauce....was not very big and a small French fries. I'm gluten free and they had nothing noted anywhere on the menu that I could see that they accommodate GF persons. I had no idea how extensive their seafood menu was. From what I remembered I thought they only serve roast beef sandwiches. Okay so I also realized on this trip they are probably the most expensive drive-thru. $19 for a lobster roll, which is phenom by the way. Couldn't taste any fresher. I recently tried the $13 cod fish sandwich. Absolutely the best fish sandwich I've ever had. Ordered it with cheese and tartar sauce. The food was more than satisfying and I will certainly return here again for the fish sandwich before I head back to Cali. Wish we had Kelly's in the North Bay.
