Keith's Bee Service failed to extract bees in an oak tree I have on my property. His worker came out approximately 3 times within a year and on his final return this past September, his worker stirred up the bees and left. Shortly after his worker left around noon, my dog who was in an adjacent kennel was attacked by a swarm of bees and died. Not only did his worker fail to notify anyone at the house to remove the dog but he also failed to extract the bees as there were a large number swarming the area. My dog ingested approximately 30 bees during the attack. She suffered a horrible attack and began to bleed internally. My 84 year old mom was outside during the time the worker was treating the tree and also did not give her any warning to go inside. She went inside shortly prior to the dog being attacked. If my mother had been outside during the time the dog was attacked, she could have also been attacked and could have suffered the same fate. Per Keith, bees are a part of nature and what they do can't be controlled; yet, his website states he will remove and relocate the bees so no harm comes to you or the bees. His failure to remove the bees caused a beloved family pet to lose her life. I do not recommend this company for bee extraction. read more

I was completely at a loss on what to do when I found a small group of bees had set up shop in my garden. I didn't want to kill them, so I found Keith's Bees on Yelp and they sent Tyler first thing the next morning. It only took him about 15 minutes to safely vacuum up the bees. This is a wonderful and honest business. I was all of a sudden seeing bees inside my home, and completely panicked (I have a tiny baby at home). I called Keith, who came out the next day, and while he couldn't find a hive, he had a suspicion of what was attracting them to my backyard (once I removed the thing, the bees went away, so he was right!) While there, he also checked around the home to make sure there weren't any places that were compromised and letting bees in. On May 12th 2019 my precious dogs were attached by killer bees. Also a friend was attached. I was devastated as my whole world was gone. Being a first time home owner, I made the mistake of not checking for wasp nests around the perimeter of the house. Before I knew it, there was a 6-inch nest inside one of the porch light fixtures. I made the mistake of having a screech owl nest box installed high up in an oak tree in our backyard almost 3 years ago. No owls occupied it, but a bee hive did, about 6 months ago. At first I thought I'd just leave it, naively thinking they were domestic honeybees (as you probably know, native honeybees are in serious decline, so I thought "cool, I'm helping the honeybees".) Then I talked to someone who said I should have a bee expert check the hive, because it was very likely the hive was hybridized with the very aggressive "Africanized" type of honeybee. I called Keith's Bee Service and talked to Keith, who said that yes, it was almost certain that the hive was hybridized (he said most in central Texas are, and that several people in Texas were killed by bee stings from these aggressive bees in the last year, so it is a real threat). He said Dirk from his company could come out the next morning (this morning). I explained that the nest box was *really* high up in a crooked oak tree and that the guy who installed it used a ladder and then started climbing the tree, and I was concerned that Dirk might not be able to get to the hive. Keith said they have pretty much the tallest extension ladders made, 28 feet. Dirk from Keith's Bee Service came out this morning right on time and used a laser light device to measure the distance from the ground to the hive, and said no problem, he didn't even need his tallest ladder. He donned a bee suit, put up the ladder and got the owl box and hive down in record time. He explained a lot about bees in the process which I did not know -- they are fascinating creatures. And he said that yes, this hive was definitely the aggressive type of bees -- he couldn't take his suit off for about 15 minutes because the bees (only the females sting -- didn't know that!) kept trying to sting him. They were hoppin' mad. Dirk said he would take the owl box with the honeycomb and bees in it (trapped in a container) to Keith's rescue apiary in Spicewood where they use a process to get the aggressive queen bee (which emits the pheremones that make the whole hive aggressive) out of the hive, then they replace her with a domestic queen, and the entire hive becomes a nice, calm bee hive. Amazing. Dirk said that Keith is the guy who is able to remove hives that other bee removal services say are too difficult to get out. He also does a lot of bee removal work for the City of Austin and is insured for $1 million, so you don't have to worry about him or one of his workers being injured on your property and suing you. And I thought his fee was very reasonable. I highly recommend Keith's Bee Service or any of his employees if you have a bee infestation! read more

My husband and I discovered a football-sized swarm of bees in our tree. We're big honeybee fans, so we didn't want to kill the hive. We would have left it, but we have dogs and there was a lot of bees fairly low to the ground in the middle of our backyard. We want bees around, but they didn't pick the best spot. Very extremely dissatisfied. They came out, removed the bees from the wall, and were gone in 30 minutes. That was great. The next day I noticed that there was a huge swarm in the tree by the side of the house. So I took a picture, sent it, and called Keith back. He said they would leave in 10-14 days. They didn't. He said the bees must be from a different swarm? Oh, the new ones parked about 3 ft from the old one? The bees then started going into a section of the wall about 3 ft from their original home. After contacting another bee removal "expert", I was fortunate enough to call Keith's Bee Service to see about getting a hive removed from my house. The first company told me that the hive was in my wall and they would have to tear out the wall inside the house to remove the bees at a considerable cost, not to mention the damage to my inside walls. Keith was smart enough to know that most newer homes have insulation in the walls making it impossible for bee's to form a hive there. He correctly identified an eave where the bee's resided and removed them at about half the cost the other company wanted to needlessly wreck my house to find there were no bee's in the wall. Keith can tell you all or more than you want to know about bee's. He is truely engaged in his profession and will show up when he says he will. I received a call back within 15 minutes of posting my on-line inquiry. Dirk showed up the next day, and quickly removed 6 yellow jacket wasp nests. Dirk used a silicone power, which does not kill the wasps, but makes them leave the nest - then he knocked it down and disposed of it.
