Wine tasting
Leslie H.

This was a good stop on a rainy day. We decided to do a tasting, but we found that there were not a lot of the wines we were hoping to try available to sample that day. They had approximately half of their list available to sample. We found a couple that we enjoyed. The employee working with us seemed knowledgeable about the products.

The tasting experience was great! The lady on staff was extremely informative and made the experience very enjoyable. We took a few bottles home with us as well!

My Mom and I stopped in this quaint little winery on our first day in Eureka Springs. They offered free wine tastings and $5 glasses of wine which seemed like a great deal. The tastings were pretty good and fairly informative but the Sommelier was extremely standoffish and not engaging at all. She seemed very irritated by us when we were just trying to make polite conversation. She seemed to want to hurry though it although we were the only ones there and I about 1 hour before closing. We did end up buying a bottle of wine and probably would have purchased more if she had been a bit more welcoming and a better salesperson! The gentleman that checked us out (perhaps the owner?) was very nice, however. We decided to get a glass of wine and enjoy it on their nice little patio after the quick tasting. I've always enjoyed wine tastings in small wineries like this and love the conversation that usually comes along with the tastings. Perhaps she was having a bad day?

This was such a cute tasting room! The service was excellent. The price was perfect and they had 4 cats wandering around for entertainment. I highly recommend this tasting room!

Good wine, great price, nice seating, great art. For those reviews that say the hostess was rude, I feel a little conversation on the tasters to engage the host goes a long way. She was nice and personable once you engaged in conversation, it's a two-way street. Overall delicious wine and great experience!

Wine tasting was good. Staff knowledgeable on the different wines. Lady behind counter made sure everyone knew she was new to the job.

They are undergoing remodeling currently but what they have done is looking amazing. We enjoyed the wine and the hostess was super.

Wonderful place for wine tasting. Kaylee, the sommelier, was very friendly and did a great job of explaining the process and the wines.

Our best meal in Eureka Springs…read more Not a ton of tables inside. Interesting ambiance with the rock bluff, which we were seated right next to. Had great service from Rhodes who was gracious and knowledgeable about the menu. He gave great suggestions. The Upside Down cocktail was delicious. A bit sweet for a whiskey drink, but very good. The salmon and steak were perfectly cooked. The asparagus and mushroom sides scrumptious. We split a slice of vanilla caramel cake which was divine. A perfect meal.

We showed up about 45 minutes early for our 8:30 reservation and did a quick walk through. Instead of waiting around, we wandered upstairs to The Stone House Tavern (right next door) for a drink, and here's the move: they serve the full Grotto menu. Same kitchen, totally different vibe. We grabbed a table and never left. The tavern has a cozy, dim-lit feel with a massive wall of books that immediately stands out. It's quiet, relaxed, and easy to actually enjoy a conversation no shouting over noise, no rushing through dinner. Service was great. Our server was kind, attentive, and we had a few genuine, easy conversations with her that made the whole experience feel even more relaxed. We started with the quail poppers and the baby romaine both solid, but more of a warm-up than the main event. The bone-in pork chop is the star. It's massive, cooked right, and easily shareable if you add a couple of sides. Don't skip the acorn squash it was one of the best things on the table. We also tried the full wings with three sauces, and those were just as good flavorful, not overdone, and a great balance to the heavier entrée. Overall, this place delivers on food, atmosphere, and experience. Bonus points for the upstairs "secret." We'd absolutely come back and probably go straight to the tavern again.

Enjoyed an excellent dinner at Local Flavor in mid May on a Wednesday evening. We had a…read morereservation, but it may not have been necessary as not all tables were filled. We were early for the season. We had excellent service from Kristen who was very friendly, informative, and attentive. I had the chicken topped with all of topping, odd goat cheese, and balsamic drizzle. It was fabulous. Also liked the mashed potatoes. My husband enjoyed the creamy Gorgonzola pasta dish with caramelized onions and cherry tomatoes. There were several good looking desserts, but we were too full to try any. Ambience fairly simple but a row of cute lamps lining the shelf up above. There's a small restaurant area as well as a bar area. Some tables outside, but it was too cool for us to try that. Great place in Eureka Springs.

The food matches the setting. The crab cakes are better than most places--crispy on the outside, packed with flavor, and not overly heavy. The cobb salad is a standout too--loaded with a great mix of toppings (definitely check the pic), fresh, and actually filling. The meatball & grits were solid, and the wedge fries on the side hit the spot--simple but done right. This is an easy, go-to lunch spot whether you're taking a break from exploring downtown or wrapping up a day walking around. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, and a perfect place to slow things down for a bit.
