three glasses of whiskey and a menu

If you like true moonshine, rum or whiskey, this place is an absolute must!!! The tour was very interesting, and you can tell their employees have a passion for quality spirits. My wife (who hates whiskey) absolutely loved their whiskey. We bought to bottles after the tour and tasting. I could brag on each of the 6 we tried, but the Small Batch Honey was an amazing surprise. Unlike the big brand "honey" whiskeys, you can clearly taste the true, local honey that they use in their Small Batch Honey Whiskey. Truly some of the smoothest spirits I have tasted in a long time, if not ever! The Overproofed Ozark Moonshine was smoother than most store brand tequilas. If you enjoy any of the spirits that they make, do yourself and favor and take the free tour and free tasting. Then buy a few bottle. We did, and the flavors were just as good as they were their at the distillery.

We checked out Copper Run during our visit to Branson. We took a very short tour, and then got a chance to sample the spirits. My favorite from the spirit flight was the spiced rum. I am not a fan of overproof alcohol, so those were my least favorite. We also had an infusion flight. The honey roasted peanut was my favorite- we ordered it based on the recommendations of our server. Service was very friendly- I'm glad we stopped by! Also, they have a shuttle that runs back and forth with the winery nearby- such a great idea!

A beautiful distillery with free tours and very friendly staff. Very enjoyable place to be with a relaxing atmosphere and many spirits to taste.

Is there anything free these days??? Yes! Take the distillery tour and then taste up to three for free. Great small batch bourbon!

Nice little distillery, part of the Missouri spirit expedition!! Don't know if they do free tasting like most distilleries do, but you get a lot for a 10 $ flight!

Even though my husband and I are traveling with our 15 mo old son and I'm pregnant, that didn't stop us from taking a tour of the Distillery. I was more interested in the tasting area as there were tons of rustic finds and bottled goodness to enjoy. My husband and other participants sampled moonshine, rum and whiskey. The staff was very nice and approachable. While I couldn't partake in spirits for obvious reasons, they did have really good homemade sodas to try.

A friend recommended C.R. as a fun little place that's out of the way, and she was right. It was slow in the bar area when we arrived, and not what I'd call a 'bar scene' where regulars come to hang out & drink on a daily basis. It was quite wholesome and I would not be afraid to bring children here on a short visit. The customers I saw were mostly there to view the distillery and in and out pretty quick, like at a shop. However, on the weekends they have a band, so they must have their busy times then. There was a fire pit outside with seating, and a smoker off to the side of the building. We were warmly greeted at the bar and received free samples of different spirits, cheerfully poured, which were distilled, aged & bottled on the premises. I particularly liked the moonshine, which was very like a nice white tequila, and the flavorful dark rum. The room was clean & cozy, with a few antiques around, but not kitschy. There is plenty of seating on the sunny front porch (and a dog or two to pet), and also a shady back deck which overlooks the edge of the woods. It was pleasant, homey, a great place to kick back & spend some time. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable about their product. Tours of the still-room are every 1/2 hour, in the basement of the building. The still area was very small & I was surprised to see just how tiny an operation could support the owners and employees. The tour was brief, informal & interesting. Questions were welcome & the guide was glad to discuss different points of production with my Dad (who was a bootlegger in a Muslim country 40 years ago) as long as he cared to. They do not serve meals here, but there are 4 or 5 options of Mediterranean style appetizers; I would love to back and enjoy some!

The Spirit Flight with added Bourbon.

Awesome stop on the Missouri Spirits Expedition! Live music and great setting. If you're close make sure you stop by and check them out!

Flight of seven, one-ounce pours for only $10.

Every single tasting option was either cookie dough, fruit punch, or some vague dessert that tastes like it lost a fight with a candle shop. If you're looking for actual moonshine, then this is not the place. There was zero genuine, traditional moonshine. Just sugar, flavoring, and irritability. The selection was impressively limited. It's like they asked, "What if you made moonshine, but made it for people who don't like moonshine?" Mission accomplished. Now, let's talk about the bartender on Monday night 12/29. Asking a simple question about the products was not allowed. She couldn't answer basic questions, and whenever that happened, she'd pivot straight into mildly insulting the customer--not in a clever or playful way, but more in a confused hostility kind of way. Imagine being scolded by someone who doesn't know what they're scolding you about. I watched a guy come in late who didn't hear her talk. He presented his government ID, looked like it was military, she didn't recognize it, and she got angry it wasn't a state ID. (Do they hate the military there?) Not surprisingly he left. It was less "tasting room hospitality" and more "you're inconveniencing me by being here." Which leads to the final, lingering question of the visit: Why is this person in customer service? Follow-up question: Why is anyone here? If you like overly sweet fake moonshine and awkward tension, you'll have a great time. Everyone else should keep walking--preferably to a place that knows what moonshine is and doesn't seem mad at you for asking.

The only downside is they were not offering a menu or place to mark and rate your favorites, like at the winery. Plenty of other gifts and gadgets in the gift shop. Food located next door. Park in the parking garage and mosey down the Branson landing while you're in town.

Tour is very well organized. The Bear Creek Winery is in an amazing location with great views from the deck. Driver was very friendly although I'd recommend being proactive about asking questions about the area as the tasting and dinner is the focus, this isn't a sightseeing tour per se outside the 4 stops. Dinner was downtown in the new area of Branson and food and service were good but not "gourmet" about what you'd expect as this isn't a foodie tour. You have a choice of chicken, steak, or salmon. Given the reasonable price for the whole experience though, if you are a steak connoisseur I'd skip the steak, not bad at all, but the Salmon and Chicken are in my opinion better options if you are finicky about your steak.

For the price (just under $700) the tour was not worth it. A lot of lights were out during our drive thru at Great Wolf Lodge. We then went through the Joy lights that were pirate themed. Not impressed with either display. At one of the gingerbread stops, our group went to grab some waters/soda, when I informed our driver, she said she had bottled water the whole time. On our way back to our drop off location, we experienced a blown tire. Our driver tried contacting her company and she said no one would answer her. I ended up texting the owner informing him that we were on the side of the road with a flat and no one would answer to help her. I received no response but moments after the texts were sent, our driver received a phone call. My husband and brother in law ended up changing the tire so we could be on our way. Our driver told us the owner would be in contact to "take care of the incident and help she received from our group". A week after the tour, I had to reach out to the company because I did not hear from them. The owner Joe called and had a list of excuses as to why he didn't reach out. He also told me that when he received word of us on the side of the road, he had to step out of a show he was viewing while on vacation with his wife. He told me he fired our driver and she had our contact information. He didn't want to tell me how much he would refund so he didn't insult us. he wanted us to tell him how much we wanted. After discussing with our group, we decided on a reimbursement amount and I texted Joe (the owner). We came upon an amount by saving someone from changing the tire and also not missing our driver's second tour that evening. My second text was to confirm he could just refund my credit card and not mail a check and he said yes. Another week goes by with no credit card refund. I texted the owner again and he finally says he can't refund us the amount we decided on but could give us half of what we requested. He'd also refund us our credit card fee. When I asked if he had my card info, he said yes from our initial registration. Ironic that he now has my info but didn't when it came time to reach out to us initially. If you do utilize this company, hopefully everything goes smoothly so you don't have to deal with the owner to settle things. Good luck!
