I came here around noon on a Saturday. It wasn't busy, and there was only on either group of two there as well. I went with their tasting for a very reasonable $5. I selected about 5 - 6 wines and while they were o.k., but nothing stood out for me. The staff was very helpful and provided additional suggestions, both reds and whites, and allowed me to taste almost all of their wines, but nothing worked for me. All of the whites were too sweet, and the reds weren't bold enough. They have all of their wines available for sale inside, and I loved the look and feel of this winery. I wished I found a glass of wine that I enjoyed so I could have purchased a bottle. Side note, be careful where you park, the lot is on a steep hill, and I had some trouble getting out of my space. read more

This was our last stop of 4 wineries in the area. It had decent reviews so we thought we'd stop and check it out before heading back. There was a $5 charge for the tasting (no big deal) and was waived if you purchased a bottle. They give you pretty much just a sip; different than the first 2 we'd visited. As a wine drinker I definitely think you need a big more than a sip to know if you like a type of wine. I did end up buying a bottle. He was comfortable with the crowd and was knowledgeable of the wines. After a little start off we went sniffing and swishing the wines. We had seen the signs, "free tasting", every time we drove from the hotel. We checked the hours, and arrived around 5 on a Friday. We entered, expecting to atleast be greeted with something...a word...a smile....a glance. An eye roll, frown, noise...but were absolutely ignored. I walk around a little. There were people around a tasting table. I walked in the back. I noticed the staff frowning, infact they seemed completely to ignore our presence, as if they didn't see us. I know we aren't invisible. The wine selection looked enticing. Beautifully displayed. The tasting table was clean and I would've bought a glass at that moment. I went to the space at the table, expecting to be waited on....and you know the rest of the story. If you want our business, don't ignore us. ...awful. I still feel for this place. If they are that unhappy, how can they stay in business? Yes, I am giving you one star, no stars would be fine with me. Do you realize I would've bought something in your store? This is now a must-stop while in the Branson area. We'd always hit Stone Hill, but Mt. Pleasant is just down the way and the I enjoyed their wines and the atmosphere. We did the free sampling of 6 wines. The reserve wines could be sampled at $5, and we were informed after the fact, that the fee is waived if you purchase over $25 (that's basically 1 bottle of reserve). Nonetheless, we enjoyed the wines we sampled. Their Norton was outstanding - I was used to the bite and oaky notes of most MO Nortons, but the Mt. Pleasant Norton was smooth and also like a Merlot. And at $9.99/bt we couldn't pass it up! The staff was very friendly. We talked to several people who did the Wine 101 class and they said it was well worth it! We did taste several options, but nothing was fantastic and after a quick go around the store, we left. We had a group of four of us in Branson for a week. We are patronizing as many local businesses we can. Our second stop today was Mount Pleasant winery in Branson. We walked in and we were "yelled at" by the male employee. He stated they were at capacity and we had to leave. How rude. How are we supposed to know this, no signs stating "full" or "wait outside until called" posted on the door. We patiently waited outside for an opening. As we waited we told 12 other arriving customers to leave and go to Lindwedel winery, where they have better service and are nice to the customers. After waiting 20 minutes we observed a group leave and we entered. We approached the counter and were told to "back off" this has not been cleaned. We backed up and waited for 10 minutes. We tried to engage the male in conversation, he was an ignorant, obnoxious, rude individual. After waiting, the area wasn't cleaned so we left. As we left we told another 4 people to leave because Mount Pleasant isn't a friendly place. We went to another bar and spent our money. After travelling more than 500 miles we were disappointed. Not what we expected and well below our expectations. Maybe a bad day for him, maybe he doesn't like people. Too bad, he's in the wrong business. You can't fix what you don't know. This winery is in Branson as well as another location in Augusta (I believe). One of my favorite things about this winery is the make your own dessert wine station. The man (I really should've got his name) pouring samples of the wines was a local chef and was VERY knowledgable about the wines. I have always loved Mount Pleasant Winery ever since touring their vineyard in Augusta. While the Branson location doesn't have a vineyard, I still really enjoyed their tasting room. The room itself is updated, has a huge bar for tasting, and is really clean. In terms of wine, Mount Pleasant serves all kinds, including sweet, semi-sweet, and dry. They also have two ports, sparkling wine, as well as both coconut and almond type drinks that are similar to Bailey's. Their wines vary in price from about $10 all the way to $65. I can't say much about their regular tasting as my husband and I enrolled in the wine 101 class. Since we're staying at Wyndham, we were able to do the class for only $10 a person. Typically, the class is $15 a person. We signed up for the Wednesday class at 2 PM. I was really surprised to find that we were the only 2 people who signed up for the class. Rather than canceling it, we were able to have a private tasting! I can't say enough great things about this class. We were lucky to have Bonnie as our tasting guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and very funny. The class itself consists of 2 oz pours of several of their wines and includes a wine glass from Mount Pleasant to keep. Most of the wines are their more expensive ones so I was really impressed with how generous the pours were. The tasting including 2 oz pours of the Brut Imperial, Chambourcin, Highland, Norton, Tawny Port, Rhineland, and their ice wine. All of their wines were paired with either cheese or a Lindt Lindor truffle. We also received a packet of some basics about wine as well as how to pair different wines with food. While all of the wines tasted really good, I'd have to say my favorites were the Tawny Port and the ice wine. The sheer volume of great tasting wine and food, along with a fun tasting guide, made this one of the best (if not the best) tastings I've ever done at a winery. Even if you have to pay full price, this class is such a steal! I can't recommend it enough! If you love wine and you're in Branson, you have to check it out!!! read more

I will totally come here again when in Branson. I am a regular out at Augusta, so I might as well add this one to the mix. They have a cool setup here, unlike Augusta... Well... That came out wrong, but we will leave it, and why is as follows.... Here, in Branson, they offer two wine tasting lists. One is the free list, with most all of the same wines you can taste out in Augusta. Or you can pay $5(which is the norm in Augusta) for their premium taste list. This list had wines on them I had no clue Mount Pleasant produced... Perfect examply is Chardonnay and Chardonnay Estates... They were both rather amazing, with estate leaving more of the buttery-oak effects on my palate. They also offer wine by the glass, where you can walk around and check out the place and drink, or pull up a seat at their bar. After a few glasses, I found myself wondering around the place a little further than one should, and found back rooms that are perfect for parties. As an added bonus, there are paintings from local artists you can purchase off the walls after you have had one too many! read more

Pleasant place! Wednesday night there is "live music". The music is alright- mainly some karaoking and a guy playing the guitar. Adds a nice little vibe. I tried the wine sampling. It was great. There are no seats for the wine sampling, which I would highly recommend (there were a lot of people who asked for seating, and only some were accommodated). We were late getting into Branson and arrived at this establishment about 20 minutes prior to closing. I wanted 3 things; I wanted a relaxed tasting, a bottle of wine to take with us and third, the possibility of buying a case to ship home to Colorado. My wife and I did receive the tastings but the server was (we could tell) ready to call it a day and close up. He mentioned a rush earlier and as we had just ridden 350 miles on our HDs, we were tired as well. So the tastings were short and sweet (pun here). I notated my preference and asked that these particular wines be shipped (6). The employee informed me he could not ship as it was a Saturday which was understandable but I said I I would pay for them and he could ship them out early next week. Not Monday as it was Memorial Day, so possibly Tuesday. He then told me his boss was the only one that could take the order and do the shipping, so if I called back Tuesday she (the boss) would personally assist me. That did not interest me so I chalked it up to a lost sale on their part. We did buy a bottle to go with sausage and cheese for the evening which was quite good. Had we not been rushed on tastings I would have bumped up a notch, but not sure I could offer a full give stars if this is the customer service they are used to providing; especially with 25 minutes left to close. read more

I spent a total of about 10 minutes here if that's any indication of how lame of a place it is. The outside is beautiful and gets you really excited... "Wow, a classy looking establishment in Branson!!?" Maybe so, but the product and presentation from staff is severely lacking. Upon entering, sidle up to the large tasting bar in the center of the room. Then get an irritated look from the tasting girl as she hands you two glasses without so much as a hello. She'll hand you a piece of paper and explain that you can taste five wines for free as long as they come from the list on the one side... flip it over and you can taste five wines from that side for $5. BUT, you can't do both. Confused yet? Already annoyed at the tacky introduction to Mount Pleasant wines, you'll choose to do the "free side" tasting, even though most of the wines on that side sound like they'll taste like a wine cooler you grab out of the freezer of your local gas station. DON'T WORRY THOUGH, because you'll only get a thimble-full to try, though that's sufficient enough to decide that MP wines just aren't your style. Make sure you put a dollar or two in the tip jar for the mostly-unpleasant employee, and hightail it out of there. read more

Our wine tasting here was short & simple, but great. Left with a couple of bottles, of course. Favorites in our group were the Rhineland, Ten Bucks, and port based dessert wine. Definitely try those if you're so inclined. Stone Hill across the street was really crowded on the day we went to Mount Pleasant, and it's true that you get more of a "tour" there and longer tasting process...but I really prefer the one on one attention as well as the ambiance here. Such a great experience! I just turned 21 so I wanted to go wine tasting with some family. We came here and Matt gave us a wonderful experience! He recommended wine based on how I responded to certain types (turns out I like dry red wine the best!!). He was very kind and considerate. The only negative thing was he was working alone, and there were four other groups he was attending to, so it was a little slow but it wasn't his fault it was so busy. I was very disappointed with this winery and would not recommend it to anyone. Staff was rude and unable to answer basic question regarding their wines. Their trading policy is ridiculous, 5 tastes for $5 and you cannot choose from the entire list of wines. I was actually told, "come back in 30 minutes and we'll serve you more then." We stated with one server and he left almost immediately to serve a group they arrived after us and never returned. Fortunately another staff member decided to help us out.
