Cool spot with exceptional hospitality! This winery was just around the corner from our cabin. We did two wine tastings; my husband also did the distillery tasting. I love dry red wine, but didn't enjoy the reds here. That is just a preference and doesn't reflect the quality, in my opinion. They were pretty dry with oak and earth flavors. If you like that for dry, you will enjoy them. They also have sweet wine, but we didn't try it. The blackberry cordial, however, was terrific! Our favorite wine we tried was a white, Ghost Train Vignoles. They also offer meat and cheese plates, and of course, you can take your favorite wine or spirits home. The wine tasting is $8. Definitely a must go in my books!! This was a cute winery I stumbled upon and I can't say enough good things about it! The wine itself was so delicious, I ended up buying two bottles and a bottle of the Blackberry Cordial. Not only is the wine good but the people who own the place are very nice and helpful and Gretchen who works there was very friendly! I will come back when in the area!! Greg and Vicki are the two most wonderful people and put their hearts and soul into Railway. Gretchen, who is Railway's event manager, is a super woman. If you want a relaxing time, head on out and grab a tasting, a slushee or some moonshine from the county's only legal moonshine distillery. Bring snacks or a picnic basket! As for the wine, if you want something totally different and smoky, try the Cynthiana. My favorite white is the Ghost Train Vignoles. The tasting menu offers a great guide then order a glass or a bottle. And be sure to take some home. You'll want to pair it with your favorite meal. If you're in the Eureka Springs area, add this to your list! Expect locals and visitors and remember here in Eureka Springs the world slows down a bit. "Sip" back and enjoy! read more

Great place to visit right outside Beaver, AR and about 10 min from Eureka Springs, AR. Great atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the vineyards. We spent a couple of hours unwinding over wine and moonshine and rye and chatting with the owners. We tried all of their wines, and several of their spirits too (their Full Moon moonshine is awesome!). This is such a nice excursion...just outside of Eureka Springs in the Ozarks just outside of Beaver, AR. Lovely wines, great spirits (the owner just might let you taste some rum thar is aging too). We hand a wonderful 2.5 hours tasting, chatting, relaxing and buying. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit here. The owner was so kind and her staff (Gretchen) was attentive and knowledgeable. We sat out on the patio which we found to be comfortable on this day. I do believe I saw a heater as well if needed. Our favorite wines were the muscadine, cranberry, and the dry red aged in a whiskey barrel. I'm so glad we got to try this place out! read more

This is a neat little winery outside of Eureka Springs! We looked up wineries in the area and Railway had much better reviews that the others. We are glad we picked Railway winery, the area is beautiful and peaceful. Greg runs the winery by himself and is very friendly. We were able to do the wine tasting and try 13 different wines, all made on site. They all range from dryer reds to sweet / fruity flavored wines, good variety and something for everyone. For $7 you get to try all the wines available and you get a souvenir wine glass. After the tasting we each ordered a glass of our favorite one and walked around the wineyard.the view is beautiful, and there are tons of pretty butterfly flying around the wineyard. We ended up buying a few bottles of wine. Greg explained the history of the winery and even gave us recommendations for restaurants and got us in touch with someone for a horseback trail ride in the area (not listed online.) Found this gem after driving through eureka springs to visit Christ of the Ozarks. The tasting includes a pour of all of the wines they carry, including the souvenir wine glass, for $5. There are approximately 10-15 wines to sample at any time. There is also a wine slushy! There is plenty of outside deck seating overlooking the vineyard. The setting is beautiful and fits right in with the ambiance of eureka springs. My only complaint is that there was no cheese to go along with my wine, but that won't keep me from coming back. read more

We were driving by and happened upon this small vineyard. Let's give it a try, looks like fun. What a pleasant couple. We got the story, the trials and awesome tasting notes. If you're a wine snob, don't go in here because you will be disappointed with the laid back, relaxed and welcoming tasting room. The reds are not full bodied, but light and full of wonderful aromas. The whites are crisp. Several sweet wines and their most popular is a peach. They have creative ideas for incorporating the wines into drinks and dishes. You can try 3 for free, or 7 for $7 (plus a free wine glass) or all 14 for $10. We ended up buying 8 bottles and had a wonderful hour at this place! An excellent stop on the scenic Rout 187, this small, Mom-and-Pop winery provides samples of any 4 wines for $6. My wife and I ordered differently so we could taste 8 in total and we enjoyed all of them. We had our own picnic lunch with us and we enjoyed the meal and drinks together on the shaded, well fanned deck. We also enjoyed a red wine slush, a welcome treat on such a hot day. Also, the owners were very friendly and talkative... a great place to enjoy a couple of hours. read more

From the start a girl ran to our car, the only car in the parking lot, and told us we would have to straighten our car. That was pretty much it for me. The couple with us purchased a testing along with my wife and they said the wine was good. I normally spend an obscene amount of money while visiting a winery. I didn't spend a dime. You might want to revise your method of greeting customers. I don't care how good your wine is, I won't be back. read more

This is a great find on the outskirts of Eureka Springs and Beaver! They offer tastings, by the glass, and bottles. They also have beer for non-wine drinkers. The husband-wife pair that run it were super friendly and answered all our questions. There were about 12 wines to choose from, with glasses $3.50-4.50, and bottles at $10-15. We grabbed some glasses and sat on the patio for a beautiful November Saturday. Plenty of seating inside (for tastings) and outside for hanging out. Lovely spot! read more

There are several wineries in the area and we visited two of them. You can go with the flashy winery on the main road or you can take a scenic drive and give your tastebuds a REAL treat at Railway Winery. The owners were fabulous and offered us a number of selections to taste. Everything is local and the wines are FANTASTIC. I particularly recommend the Plum as it is sweet and has a rich "plummy" taste. The Peach is light and fruity and the Moscato is almost like drinking a champagne. They have less sweet wines, but I'm a bit partial to the sweet ones. We sat and talked with the owners about their future endeavors of a distillery. My husband and I visited this winery and were not impressed. Although the owner was very available and immediately gave us attention and service, the atmosphere was drab, the wines are not good, and the owner was a "Debbie downer". I would not recommend this winery to anyone nor go back to visit. I do prefer cabernets and merlots, which are not available at this winery. The winery is heavy on selections of white and sweet wines, which if that is your preference you may enjoy the selection. read more

Great experience!. They have a wide range of wines. My wife likes sweet wine, and I like a full body red, we both were able to find wines we really enjoyed. The wines are good. They have a peach wine that was like nothing I've ever tasted, it truly tasted like a peach dessert. I bought a few bottles of wine. The 3 wine tasting is free, or for $5 you can taste all the wines they have (around 10), and you get a souvenir glass. They are great host as well, feel free to take a picnic, or even something to cook on their grill... you my need charcoal. read more

It was a beautiful drive to the winery through the fall foliage. The owners were amazing and the wines were delicious. I chose a great red with black cherry and plum flavors. My wife chose a dry white that she really loved. We also picked up some extra bottles as gifts! The cranberry "Cold Snap" will be a favorite of our family, we think. We happened upon this gem on our way to Beaver Bridge and it further indulged the fortunate, joyful feelings we had on this adventurous, yet relaxed day. One of the owner's (didn't catch his name but Little Ed on the bottle was his father) was extremely pleasant and friendly and really spoiled us with the enjoyments of this casual, comfortable, quaint, highly enjoyable winery. As I'm currently living in California, I was flabbergasted by how reasonably priced everything was, including a tasty glass of wine for only $3.50 & the bottles were very reasonably priced at $12 a bottle and we bought a few to enjoy later. I'm especially excited to try making a variety of things from sangria to peach margaritas with the peach wine and enjoy the pleasantry of the Traminette on its own. The owner was very knowledgeable of the various grapes, but not smug. The place has the potential to be AMAZING if they added more ambience or a fountain or such. But we certainly enjoyed our visit. It happened by accident, finding this quirky winery on our way to see the old one-lane bridge off Beaver Lake and Rogue Manor. Last we traveled through here in 2009 the winery didn't exist, but I'm glad it does now. Apparently a storm washed out their vines a couple of years back, but they have managed to produce some delicious wines with imported grapes. They managed to produce an impressive variety of wines at very reasonable prices, about $12 per bottle. I am a red wine drinker and enjoyed the Cythiana, not overly hearty and quite smooth. I purchased the Fredonia, surprised by the light rose with a unique flavor. We met the "Mrs." owner (didn't get her name,) and found her friendly and knowledgeable about grapes and wines. I would have given it a 5 except for the lack of exterior ambience. I'd like to see them clean up the place to look more like an inviting establishment with comfortable seating arrangements, planters to create a garden-like setting, and outdoor lighting to encourage a longer stay--and maybe down the line, patios with nooks and crannies. read more
