I recently took a tour with my girlfriend and have to agree with a previous review about Adam being more interested in hitting on the women, which included my girlfriend. Another thing I noticed about Adam was that he seemed very irritable, aggressive and unstable, and would recommend that he seek psychiatric help and be put on prescription medications as he could be a possible danger to others or himself. I did however find his knowledge of wine to be exceptional...that is if you are seeking advice on a good boxed wine. read more

Husband and I wanted to spend the weekend in Branson, MO and when I researched things to do and places to go, Ozark Hills Winery came up. I called in advance to gather some basic information and the woman I spoke to was kind and informative. When we arrived, i was blown away by how cute and big the establishment was! Very spacious and well-decorated (farm house style). They have little nooks and alcoves and different rooms for you to choose for where you would like to sip and eat. We chose the bootleggers lounge and it had a warm vibe to it with soft lighting, an electric fireplace and high top tables. We opted for the whiskey tastings so we could share and after the long 4-hour drive we had, we indulged in their cheese, crackers, sweets, meats and nuts. We left happy and full. read more

We stopped by in the afternoon for a wine tasting - they are not fooling around - be sure to have your ID out and ready if you want a tasting. The tasting does cost $, but there local coupons and discounts that can help out a lot. There is a wine tasting and a whiskey tasting. We did the wine - the samples I got were a bit on the sweeter side - it's a little bit my own fault cause I told the attendant that I only wanted to "taste the hits/bestsellers". They offered crackers and chocolates as a palate-cleanser. My group had 3 people and there was another group of 4... and it just felt like there was so much detail going on about the wines (they let you pick and choose as opposed to a set flight so it felt like a lot of back and forth and repetition). Otherwise, our "sommelier" was awesome! The store was neat, well-stocked and bright. It actually felt spacious given that there wasn't too much staff. There is a backroom that did the whiskey distillery - which was much cozier, but I have no pedigree when it comes to whiskey so I didn't give it a try. We visited in January, but I think the vibe would/could be totally different on a warm summer day instead. read more

First off, the wines were awesome. The aesthetics were great and we were so excited to buy some wine and we even got a card for a complimentary glass! Now, unfortunately we never cashed in on that because the area wear that happens is where they try to sell you "staying on properties they own". I not only didn't care to talk on that topic but I also didn't get up to the table because the lady that was there had a couple up there talking about showing properties for a solid 20mins. We left before we got caught up in that since it was set up right by the exit and we decided not to prolong the stay by buying any bottles. The vibes and wine were great... until they tried to pull more money and sell much more than wine. ‍ That's why I deducted the stars. read more

This was a really fun place to enjoy a wine tasting! Our server was amazing--so friendly and personable. We got to choose from a menu for the tasting, and there were enough choices that you could choose, for example, all reds if that's what you prefer. (Which is what I did.) I don't have a sense of this place. But I'm rooting for it. I really do see a lot of potential for it. They bill themselves as having wines from all over Missouri, which is commendable and challenging. At our tasting they had - Augusta (good!) - Pirtle (better!) - Curling Vine (oh no) They also had a couple wines under their own brand, which seems to be bottlings sourced from vineyards in Arkansas and Missouri. One of them was called "Laugh until you Pinot Grigio" if that gives you a sense of what they're currently doing. So. Lots of sweet, hangover-in-a-glass kind of stuff from around the state. And a winery that barely had any wines of its own. And then, strangely, this really interesting exhibit about whiskey stills. It was fascinating, I'd never seen anything quite like it. And I had no idea what it was doing here. It's like dropping your car off for an oil change and they tell you, "While you're waiting, we have a gallery of early Rembrandts and a couple lost works from Caravaggio. It's over there next to the candy machine that dispenses peanut M&Ms from 1998." Certainly not unwelcome, but also not expected. So as it stands right now, it doesn't make sense. But if they had a vision of expanding into featuring Missouri whiskies and other spirits, that would be awfully smart. And the quality would be a lot better than many of the wine options. It would offer something for just about everyone's tastes. I didn't get a chance to talk with the staff there, but either two things are happening: 1) They just recently started and are building up their operation. 2) They took over the space from someone else or there was a management shakeup and this is on a downward spiral, an echo of something good that used to be here. Turned her back on us and put the tasting bottle back with no intention of continuing. We reported the experience to the owners on the way out the door. Can't understand the current work ethic. We had a blast! We went and there weren't many groups right then so we got a private tour of the Moonshine Museum. We learned a lot-not that were going into the Moonshine business anytime soon. My widowed great grandma ran moonshine to support her family during prohibition and it was so neat to see the antique equipment and imagine her doing that. My wife and I have been to a lot of wineries for tastings over the years but never have we felt more welcomed and enjoyed the tasting experience than we have here. Kevin was absolutely fantastic and genuinely made us feel not only at home and welcome there but like he was genuinely glad we were there. He was very personable and knowledgeable.
