Sassy and classy! Amongst the various flights and a brick oven pizza. I was impressed by the grounds. If you were to have a wedding, it would be a nice place to enjoy nature and the ambiance that Sassafras provides. I did get the two bottles, and finished them...they were both very good. I asked for a popular red and a popular white. The red was the SSV Blend 5. The Blend 5 is described as a luscious aroma of black cherry, pomegranate, and wet slate that gives way to juicy plum and vanilla. It was great. I also asked for the popular white. The SSV Sauvignon Blanc is a delicious and crispy white ..of vibrant aromatics of citrus, crisp edge minerality and sweet herbs that tease the refined acidity with a refreshing finish. Beautiful location. They have a large outdoor and indoor seating area where you could sit with a group and chat. I also think the wedding chapel looked cute from the outside and they seemed to host a lot of events there. Being from California - I was kind of expecting most of the wines to be more local but they were mostly grown in California and not in Arkansas. No matter - they were all really good. I did the red flight and I enjoyed all of the red wines and was excited that I got to keep the glass as a souvenir. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. read more

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon flight of red wine tasting at Sassafras Springs. (BONUS: Our server was kind enough to add the new Syrah to the flight...) Syrah 2021 okay, might be better with food. SSV Pinot not bad; light, very jammy prolly better with food. Nice legs. SSV Red Zinfandel Yummy, kinda plummy and slightly peppery on the back end. Got a bottle to go, it was so good. SSV Cabernet medium body, not bad. Jammy; dark-fruit forward. Red Zinfandel had a bit more body. J. Lohr Los Osos Merlot Not bad, not great. FOR SAKE OF LIKE TASTES: my husband and I lean toward dark, full-bodied reds in our preferred brand. FOOD: We ordered a not so memorable charcuterie plate; peppered Salami was sliced entirely too thick given the richness of this meat and the heaviness of the pepper coating. The cubed cheeses were a banal white cheddar and a totally out-of-place pepper jack; collectively not the best selections for wine pairing. Proprietor Notes: Get more bang for your buck AND guests' enjoyment if you update your food offerings just a bit. SUGGEST: a hunk of Parmesan, a slab of locally sourced herbed-goat cheese, and another sharp cheddar. These selections served with dried fruit (apricots and/or craisins) and almonds would offer a more well-rounded (and better shelf-life) presentation than cubed cheeses and sad green grapes served as part of this current plate. A plain table-water cracker is best to let the cheese flavor shine with the wine pairing. This in lieu of the Captain's crackers would be a welcome enhancement. Hold the meat as an "add-on" for increased value for those that want it. We thoroughly enjoy Sassasfras Springs' wine and look forward to food selections that are on par with the amazing wine offerings. I was visiting the area from out of town and a friend suggested I check this cute vineyard out. From the moment of my arrival I found this place welcoming and astonishing! Now I'm not extremely well versed in wine, but I know the difference in palatable and delicious and I'd have to say delicious! I prefer reds-dark reds and had a flight with my amazing pizza (broccoli and cheddar GF crust), and I couldn't have asked for a better meal. After a long hot day on workation, my coworkers wanted to unwind at Sassafras Springs Vineyard for pizza and wine. The Vineyard had plenty of parking which provided enough room for a motorcoach buses. The Vineyard was absolutely gorgeous, the ambience was relaxing. Scenery at this place is unreal and the winery is very nice. Wine tasting was 4 for $10 which isn't a very good deal. Yes, you get a souvenir glass but when you've been to so many wineries you can't take 2 glasses from each one. Make it a 5 or 6 tastings for $10 like every other winery and keep the glass. You have a small lodge, you have a wedding venue and you have more seating than any 10 winery's put together so you must be killing it in the spring through fall months. I tried the white wine flight and 3 of 4 were very good. One was very bitter and wasn't something that I would order a glass of. Found a cool spot to enjoy a bottle of wine. Place is beautiful and at the same time has great prices. Didn't get to see the whole setup, but from what we did see it was awesome. Staff were great as well. They let us try a sample which lead us to just going with a full bottle of their Cabernet. Their Cabernet was awesome! Had a little charcuterie board to go with it and enjoyed their back deck. It was hot today, but not on the deck. It provided enough shade to enjoy the wine and cheese. We have family coming to town in June and have already decided this is one of the places we're bringing them. We will be back! read more

Our son moved to Fayetteville, this is the place we always visit. Great place to relax with family and friends. Service was great, pizzas are amazing and the wine just complements everything. Such a beautiful location! I had only visited for weddings who chose Sassafras as a venue until this past weekend. We reserved a table out on the patio of the tasting room for a friend's birthday and it was so much fun! We were able to order large charcuterie boards to graze on while we sipped our wine. I'm dairy free and they even had a variety of goat cheeses for me to choose from and add to the charcuterie boards. At the recommendation of one of the women working in the tasting room, I tried a Sauvignon Blanc that she mentioned was their favorite and I was not disappointed! Such an amazing vineyard and event spot. The grounds are simply breathtaking. We came for a sorority event and they did a wonderful job of serving flights and giving us the history of the vineyard and each variety they served. We sat outside and it was chilly but they had fires going to keep it warm. The Sauvignon Blanc and Dry Riesling were my favorites. I was not a fan of the Rose. They do have cheese boards, salads and pizzas and you can walk the grounds. Great photo ops as well. For non wine drinkers you can order beer as well. read more

This is such a cute place to sit on the patio and have a glass of wine. You can have 2 tastings for free or order a flight of 4 for $10 before buying a glass or bottle. There are several levels to the outside patio and plenty of room to walk through the property while enjoying your wine. Inside, there is a small bar and some snacks including bread, cheese, and chocolate. Most items are local. The only disappointing thing is that most of the wine on the menu is from out of town and the grapes not grown locally. I really love this place, so it pains me to give it 4 stars. The atmosphere is amazing. I love renting it for events. The staff is great. The selection is great, but their locally made stuff is what looses a star for me. From what I've seen, there's not much of a vineyard but a couple grape vine. I could be wrong, but pretty sure they're not making all their wine with such few a plant. The local stuff seems to be full of sulfates. I went yesterday, Sunday the 7th, and have to say the only thing going for it is that it's somewhat pretty, just junk and dirt everywhere!!! The servers at the front didn't act or look professional, nor were they polite. To be quite frank, they just looked bored to be there which was rather off putting seeing as you can only order through them. On top of that, no one had real knowledge when I questioned about the wine selections. As for their food and wine selections, all I have to say is overpriced. I bought a bottle for around $30, which was $15 online. I expected a little better even as an out of towner. read more

We had been traveling late (arrived 9pm) and it was disappointing because I had picked this place after reviewing all others in the area. Ended up leaving and staying at another place in town. Very irritating. NOTE: I never went inside so no idea how it is. Giving three stars instead of one because they didn't fight me on my Hotels.com refund. Mistakes happen so pls consider that when you choose to stay with them. ANOTHER NOTE: I'm sure it's a nice place. Confirm you get a door code with them or Hotels.com before you arrive. Nice location....spacious outdoor seating and quaint indoor seating. We went on a Thursday early evening (4:00)and it wasn't crowded at all. Wine flights are $10 and you get 4 about 2 oz pours. The price includes a wine glass. I was disappointed that basically you pick your flight from a preselected list( sweet, white, red) they pour them and hand you a small sheet of paper with the descriptions and you are off to your own. Personally I prefer the tasting to be interactive with the server. I like to learn about their history, grapes, process, etc. I felt this is more of a "bar style" winery for lack of better words...serving quantity ( though not busy on my visit) Wine was good but not worth the $30+ costs. read more

We spent the weekend in Prairie Grove (go check out Flamingo Springs trailer resort...fabulous!) and someone suggested Sassafras. So glad we did. This place is precious! Very limited food menu, but we ordered the pizza and it was really good. And huge! We really enjoyed the wine flights. I didn't even know that was a thing, but I now know it's a good thing ;). This place is so peaceful. We sat outside on the multilevel patio, which had heaters and a small fire pit on the lower level. It's nestled sort of in the woods on the side of the highway, with a little creek. The leaves had just fallen and it was the first cold weekend of the fall. We had the best time just sitting and sipping wine. We also walked down to the church just to look around... breathtaking. As I understand, they do a lot of weddings there and I can see why. Absolutely precious place. If you're in the area, take a minute to stop by. Pleasant little oasis of peace and wine. read more

What a beautiful winery and venue. I took a tour of Sassafras and it was so enjoyable. It was my first time out to the winery and I definitely want to go again. Our host (I forget his name, but he is the owner) was the best. He was very nice and informative, I learned a lot about the winery and about how they make their wine, which grapes they use, etc. There are multiple venues on their property for different types of events. They host so many events every year, it seemed that there were more events than days in the year. The ambiance and design of everything on their property is very nice. He mentioned they will be putting in a pizza oven and soon be offering pizza and panini's with their wine. They also have live music! Check them out! read more

Super fun winery!! Cute place inside. The wine was yummy. I had the red flight and all of them were great. They serve all of your samples on a board for you to pour into your wine glass as you go instead of making you wait up at the front for each taste of wine. Love this idea. The board was a little tricky navigating when trying to slide the door open and then walking down steps to the outside. There is lots of room to sit outside. Cozy fires and heaters. The area is beautiful!! I will definitely be going back. They asked that you social distanced outside at the table but a few of the heaters weren't working so it was a little chilly sitting outside. This vineyard is fabulous! I went there as part of a networking event. They provided tours of the facility as part of this. I don't know if the tour was unique for this event or a regular activity, I suspect a regular activity. The area is beautiful and off the beaten path, yet not a far drive whether you are coming from Bentonville/Rogers or from Fayetteville. The wine is very good and the staff is knowledgeable about the flavor profiles of the wines.
