First, to clarify, both wineries in Branson are essentially outlets if their main wineries near St. Louis. That's where the grapes are grown and the magic happens. I was disappointed to find out that's also where they keep the wine knowledge. That said, I did the premium tasting for $5. I bought a bottle though and got my $5 back (fair enough!) The wines are good, not my fav MO winery, but good. If you're serious about wine, head to Hermann or Augusta, but if you're looking to have a good time for a while, thus us the place. read more

Good wine selection and fantastic service. We were guided through several local wine selections and enjoyed many. Ended up buying a bottle of the Cahmbourcin (one of the grapes the region specializes in and one that's well adapted to the local climate, soil, etc.) which had a nice fruity flavor with a quick, dry finish. The area (at least Branson, but I think a lot of the surrounding area, too) is known for sweet wines, and if that's your thing, then there's tons to choose from. If you, instead, prefer a dryer, bolder red, then check out the Chambourcin or the Norton varieties. read more

No Winery here! No vineyards, etc. I don't know why these folks set up in tourist areas and call themselves wineries? Its a retail outlet store, no more and no less. Being from the West Coast and going to dozens of quality vineyards, tasting grapes, driving through miles and miles of REAL vineyards, meeting owners, etc. This is a real big disappointment! Try mad dog, Sutter home, or perhaps a nice box of wine. read more

Not very personable and you stand the entire time during your tasting. Didn't get offered crackers or have the option to buy any snack during the tasting. I would say the amount during the tAsting was maybe an ounce.. maybe. You can only taste 5 total which I think is silly if you're trying to sell wine. Definitely wouldn't go back or recommend if you were trying to go somewhere neat. read more

The best winery in the area. The employees are all courteous and knowledgeable compared to the other winery down the street. Bought several bottles of wine here. Did the free tasting and there wasn't one that we didn't like. Forgot to use the 20% off but they still had great prices. $4.99 for a bottle of their house red. read more

We are here in Branson for a Christmas vacation with our entire family... being that it is particularly cold this time of year, and we have a baby, we went looking for indoor things to do while the baby napped in her stroller... also being that we are with our entire family... alcohol seemed like a perfect solution we could all agree on. Since I am the "yelper", I chose in very short notice the winery with the best reviews and that was open this time of year (literally all of the fun stuff in Branson is closed this time of year..) We walked into Mount Pleasant Winery with no direction, no greeting... it just looked like a Total Wine store where people could shop for wine... not sip and socialize... we eventually found some stools on the other side of the large stock room pulled up to a bar, the only logical place it would seem we could try wine.. sat in them.. and waited for the one gentleman working to eventually recognize us. (There was two other customers in the whole place.. not busy at all) when he finally looked our way, he said "would you like to try some wine?" And we said "yes! Thank you!" And he waved us to come to him.. we asked if we were allowed to sit and drink at the bar with the stools we were already in, and he rudely said, "well the wine is over here. So if you want to try any, then you would have to come over here." My husband immediately got annoyed. We had already set down all of our stuff, parked the stroller in the quiet corner, and were ready to relax and try wine! Instead we relocated to a standing position near the rude man and felt rushed to pick the 5 wines we wanted to try. Tried them all within 5 minutes and picked a bottle to buy. Left. And that was our experience. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because there were a couple wines that I liked a lot. The port was very good and 20% alcohol! The peach wine was really tasty, and we bought a bottle for grandma because she is a huge fan of peach wine (and it was only $12 for the bottle). Bottom line The experience sucked. The service was rude and rushed. But the wine was good. Never going back though. read more

This was our second winery on our Limo Tour and the staff is way more friendlier than the Stonehill Winery. In fact we bought a case of wine and they are shipping it to California. When we asked at Stonehill they didn't seem that interested and had no knowledge of shipping wines to CA. So I give this Winery a huge plus. read more

We've come here several times over the years and it's a good free tasting. The wine is unique and cheaper than buying back home so win win. Bring back the chocolate dessert wines! The Concorde is always for sale and great. read more

I came here specifically for the blackberry wine. It is one of my favorites. The staff is always very helpful and very generous with the tastings. I do not like all wines and Mount Pleasant has a nice selection of the sweeter wines I enjoy. read more

My husband and I enjoy coming out to Branson once a year for a close to home get away and for the wine. We first came to Mount Pleasant last year so we decided to come back because of the tasty wine selection. WOW was the service so horrible! We paid for our wine tasting ($5.00 for 5 samples) and then waited 20mins to get our first pour. Overall it took over an hour to get through 5 PAID FOR SAMPLES. If you go here make sure you know what you're wanting so you can grab your election and go otherwise be prepared to stand around waiting to be helped. We went to the Curling Vine Winery across the street first. Thank goodness we did, free tour and free wine tasting. If you're looking for more interaction. Skip this one and hit up the one across the street!! read more

We visited 3 wineries during our Branson visit. Mount Pleasant was our last. When we entered on a Saturday, we were immediately greeted by Ken who invited us to a circular wine sampling area in the middle of the store. He handed us a sheet of paper and explained the sampling process. We selected our 5 choices (each). Ken answered our questions and held a friendly conversation. He waited on other patrons, but balanced his attention on everyone. Overall, employee Ken gets 5 stars. Since the wines we sampled met our expectations (we're not expensive wine connoisseurs), we ended up taking advantage of their buy 6 get 6 free bottles of wine ranging from $12-$16 per bottle. I would have given this review 5 stars instead of 4 if there had been an offer of some crackers or something to clean our pallet after each sample. We spent about $90 here at Mount Pleasant and $0 at another highly advertised winery close by ~ but I'll save my "less positive" comments for that particular place's Yelp page. Mount Pleasant is worth your attention. read more

I always enjoy visiting this winery. I don't mind that they don't have a tour. I enjoy the tasting. You get to pick the 5 complimentary samples (I recommend Hauswein) of wine that you want to try. Bottles are available for sale on sight. Also, around Branson, flyers can be found where you can receive a free wine glass with a $20 purchase from the winery. read more

If you love sweet wine, this place is heavenly! The service was excellent, and we ended up buying several bottles because we couldn't just choose a few! Not only was it delicious, but it was incredibly affordable. You may be able to get some of their wines at the grocery for a dollar or so less, but you can't find the selection anywhere else. read more

Went there yesterday. It is not your typical winery. Just a store with lots of wine and accessories for sale. Two people working behind the counter, one was a very pregnant lady who was very nice, but looked tired and bored, and the other, was a man who works the register who yawned all the time when I was checking out. I questioned my bill, it seem a little high to me. He looked at it on register and said he it is correct and he made no mistakes. I did not want to cause a scene with people behind me in line, so I left with my wine and my receipt. I checked it at hotel and found that he charged me for extra bottle of wine. I went back there to complain and he was at register with another customer trying to correct another mistake he made on her. After she left, I showed him my receipt and pointed out his mistake, he could not figure it out. I had to break it down in front of him to show what he had done. He finally agreed with my findings and gave me a bottle of wine in stead of cash refund. I walked out satisfied that I was correct, but mad that I had to come back and argue with Him about his $13 mistake. As for the wine, it was ok, nothing special, my experience there will always leave a bad taste in my mouth, it will have a hint of rude employee. read more

If you want to see a vineyard full of grapes, you won't find it here. If you want to taste a bunch of amazing wines, this is the place for you. it's a very relaxed, low pressure environment. I am not a wine person, but this place changed my mind. I went here because my fiance wanted to try some wines, and I left after buying 3 bottles. all of their wines are very unique, and they were awesome. The vineyards aren't in Branson, but they have a great tasting room. there. You can try a bunch of wines there, and all of their wines are reasonably priced. I think the most expensive one was $12. They also have an amazing cream liqour. it was well worth the visit. read more

After a five-hour session of "purchase our timeshare" so we could get a "free" ticket, we decided to hit Mt. Pleasant for a few minutes and it saved the day! Buster and Ken were the perfect ears for our frustrations, but the wines we selected were the perfect way to relax. Not only is it a pleasant way to pass and enjoy time, the wines we tried were highlights. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Branson and that won't be long! read more

We visited Mt. Pleasant Winery in December 2011. A friend referred us after she visited there. She brought back a bottle of their Rhineland and we loved it. We did the winetasting and ended up with a case. Our hostess was very knowledgeable and did not pressure us. Our case consisted of several varieties and we have been very happy with our purchase. We will definitely visit again the next time we visit Branson. read more
