We come here EVERY year when we stay close for a yearly family vacation. The staff is always super friendly and kind, help with every question, and interaction. Hands down you have to try the blueberry cinnamon roll. It's the size of your face, served warm and amazingly delicious. The ambiance is nice. Nothing too crazy. I previously gave them a poor review based an a bad customer service experience i had, but i must say the immediate response by the female owner to address this issue really impressed me. I also recently met her husband Earnie at the Best of Missouri event at Shaws Garden. I visited his booth to pick up some Blackberry BBQ sauce which is delicious on ribs. Being very friendly we chatted a while and when he heard my experience, I could see the disappointment in his eyes. Being very appologetic he couldnt understand how these thing happen given the good staff he believes he has. Either way he would not accept any money for my items and extended an invitation to visit Persimon Farm again. Which i will. I respect that an owner can work hard for many years to build their business, only to lose much of their efforts due to employee actions at the front line. See you soon. read more

My wife ordered some goodies for us and some family for the holidays, some of the jams and butters and a half dozen blueberry thunder muffins. Oh my goodness!!! The muffins are amazing! They are huge and packed with blueberries. Thick and sweet. They were shipped to us fresh from the farm in an authentic metal baking tin. Probably the best muffin I've ever eaten. The persimmon butter, gooseberry jam, and biscuit mix came packaged in a small custom wooden crate. So cool! The persimmon butter was sooo delicious. I wish I was closer so we could visit the actual farm. I highly recommend ordering some goodies to enjoy some country goodness! read more

Oh my, the fantastic Thunder Muffins! I had them first at the Best of Missouri Market in St. Louis years ago, and made it a point while traveling through Southwestern Missouri recently to stop at the farm and get them direct. They are just the most perfect decadent, incredible, tasty, moist, beautiful thing! They also have many other items at their store (in addition, you can pick berries during berry season), and I got some blackberry lemonade, which was delicious, and some of the honey that their own bees made! They had freeze dried blueberries, coffees, jams and jellies, mushroom items, but, for me, it was all about the muffins. It was an undeniably beautiful drive down some country roads to get there. If you are anywhere close to Branson or Springfield, make it a point to pop in, especially in June when I believe the berries are at their peak (I was here and early May, so the berry vines were just flowering). read more

Really enjoy coming to Persimmon Hill Farm. Check their hours and get there early! We didn't pick berries but went for the thunder muffins, cinnamon roll and a family member tried the cumulobluebus which is a warm muffin filled with ice cream and then topped with whipped cream :0! Love this place. So much fun picking ORGNIC. Yes I asked. They do not put any chemicals on them. The even fertilize without the chemicals. We make this a yearly family outing but arrive early if its hot out. We arrived at 7:15 am and there were lots of pickers already in the fields. It is well organized so ask where the ripe berries are. They have flags. They also provide small buckets. Took us about 1 and1/2 hour to fill my bucket. After picking we had them weighed in their building/store. As you are entering there is a window where u can watch them making their famous huge thunder muffins! We always buy several. You also need to Ask about. their Cumulobluebus blueberry dessert topped with icecream! It is a meal in itself. Oh! As other berries ripen you can also pick them. Such as blackberries and gooseberries! Will be back for sure!!!!! read more

Like everything else outside of Branson, it is a little out of the way. Our visit was near the end of blueberry season, so we had the place to ourselves. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Worth the trip for the thunder muffins alone, over-sized and over-filled blueberry muffins with just the right amount of cinnamon sugar on the top. The "cumulobluebus" (they make you say it to order it!) is the muffin a la mode, topped with vanilla icecream, whipped cream, and more than enough for two to share. The farm also features its own shitake mushrooms, available fresh or dried, as well as an assortment of syrups and jams. read more
