On June 8th I happened to park in front of their establishment outside of business hours on the public street. If I had parked in their parking lot they would have a legitimate reason for me to leave. But I was on City property and their authority ends at the property line. The only restriction would be the posted parking limitations, which I was well outside of. At 11pm at night, I had a visit from their guard politely asking me to leave while on PUBLIC PROPERTY. Apparently, I was "threating" their establishment when I was minding my own business on the City street. I understand the need for security, but they had no authority to force someone off public property. I don't fault the guard as he was only doing what he was ordered to do, and I didn't want to argue (even though I was in the right legally), but they need to learn that they don't have limitless authority in front of their establishment. I'm not a contractor, nor in the market for remodeling, but if I were looking for tile I'm going to go elsewhere. If they are going to be paranoid about someone legally minding his own business, I wonder what their mental state would be if I were to come in as a customer.

It seemed like they were the only ones opened. It was right before Labor Day. Well, this store was not only opened, but had a great selection of in stock tiles which is what we needed. We got 400 ft.² of oak looking tile flooring. They had exactly what we were looking for at a closeout price. Our tile installer was able to pick it up the following business day. Andy gave us great customer service. We will be purchasing more tiles for other projects.

Elit Tile's return policy is meaningless if they can simply invent new restrictions after taking…read moreyour money. My experience with Elit Tile began with them failing to deliver the order I paid for. I purchased 8 pieces of tile, but their vendor only shipped 6 pieces. I had to discover their mistake myself. Had I not counted the order, I would have left with an incomplete purchase. Later, they actually tried to use the cost of correcting their own shipping mistake as a reason to deny my return. After bringing the completed order home, I realized the tile did not match my existing flooring. I immediately contacted Joy Lee and requested a return while the tile was completely unused. Here's the problem: at no point before my purchase did Joy Lee tell me that returns supposedly depended on vendor approval or that orders under four boxes could not be returned. That alleged restriction was never disclosed in the store and does not appear anywhere in my sales paperwork. Only after I requested a return did Joy Lee suddenly claim that the vendor would not approve it because the order was under four boxes. That completely defeats the purpose of having a return policy. If customers are never told about these restrictions until after they pay, then they don't have the information necessary to make an informed purchasing decision. Instead of standing behind what was represented at the time of sale, Elit Tile relied on an undisclosed vendor policy that was never communicated beforehand and refused to accept responsibility. My tile was unused, my return request was made promptly, and yet I was simply told the matter was "closed." If you're considering purchasing from Elit Tile, ask for every return restriction in writing before you hand over your credit card. Otherwise, you may discover after the sale that the return policy you thought you had doesn't actually apply.

I put a 10% deposit AND $1,000 on my cabinets and closet in Feb 2025. MTD just left today (Jun…read more2026) after finishing the final fix. I found out after the fact but it is either 10% or a $1000 deposit, not both, that you can legally ask for. They were also really pushy about completing payment once all the materials were received, which also violates contract law. I refused because we had not received the wood vanities for the bathroom. Fortunately, I had some kind of leverage. The design process was not thoughtful at all. More like a rush job. For the closets, Rochie wanted to put rods to hang clothes on a side that would be closed off by another set of shelves. I didn't question it initially, but it bugged me. So we changed the design, but if I didn't say anything, I would have had unusable space because the hangers would not fit. For the kitchen, we asked for a kitchen aid mixer cabinet and paid extra for it. Rochie didn't really use the dimensions that must have been provided by the manufacturer. The cabinet was too big for the thing and the installer did a hack job putting blocks to make it fit. Also, the first installer was careless. He dropped things and made dents and gashes on my wood floors. My husband asked him to be more careful, but later on, I found a huge gash in the closet. MTD denies it was the installer, but I wiped down the floors muliple times after the floors were installed and I didn't see it before. Also, nothing was done in the closet before installation. For the pantry installation, the first contractor didnt have the door flush with the wall. During the demolition of the first pantry door, they left the walls with gashes. We eventually had to have another contractor come and fix it. For the spice drawer, it was initially hard to pull out, after a fix, its still not pulling out and closing 100% correctly. And, because I had a balance, MTD kept asking for payment before the job was completed. If I had already completed payment, I highly doubt they would have fixed the things I asked for. My contractor told us he regretted telling us about MTD because the cost was too high. Initially, we didn't mind paying extra for getting what we wanted, but it seems to me, they try to churn clients and make designs as quickly as possible. Also, just hope your installer is Carlos, because he does a good job. He came to fix everything and I wished they had sent him initially.
