As I type this review, I'm already jittery from its sugar rush. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 50 Cent additional fee for card.) I arrived at KC Donuts (San Gabriel) on a Monday (around 6:35AM). Parking is available in a cramped lot or the nearby neighborhood. I chose neighborhood parking since it's easy to find a spot. Staff is professional, friendly, and welcoming. Staff worked hard. And Staff promptly answered all my questions. On ambiance, KC Donuts (San Gabriel) is spacious for a donut spot. There's also plenty of tables, and there's a couple bottles of hand sanitizers for customers. It's also fairly clean. This popular location had a steady flow of morning customers. Overall, I had a very good experience at KC Donuts (San Gabriel). I work so close to this place and I always see my coworkers talking about this place as well as them bringing in juices , sandwiches, and donuts from them. So , today was my first rodeo here and I have to say : amazing. customer service is so nice and their sandwiches & juices ? AMAZING. The hype & rave my coworkers give this place lives up to it. I ordered 2 turkey sandwiches (about $10 each) 3 green juices ($6 each) (A3, the order number of the juice because they have more than 1 green juice) , 1 red juice ($6, this one has like carrot, beets, and some other veggies but I forgot) , and 1 box of a dozen donuts ($17) all for around $60ish. I love the bread that they use on the sandwiches, not sure if they make it in house but it is definitely not just store brought bread at a market. And everytime I drink their juice i definitely feel good internally, it's like my body likes it. You can see them press the juices in house! The place itself has limited parking space I would say and the interior is definitely mom & pop shop vibes but those are the best places ! I got a raised sugar donut and a strawberry jelly donut. It was so soft and so fresh!! They also have sandwiches, smoothies, and fruit juices. I really, really love the prices here!! $4.50 for a smoothie is a steal!! Smoothie prices back home are at least $6. One morning on my way to work, I had the biggest craving for a ham and cheese croissant. I looked up the closest place and ended up at KC Donuts. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant and got it heated up. The smell of the croissant was unbearable during my commute, so I started munching on it. It was delicious! The way they made it was light and airy, very enjoyable. Also, the girl who helped me out gave me a couple of donut holes, and they were also very good and fresh--not heavy like at other places. Finally decided to try this place out after so many passings. I dropped my car off on mission for a car wash and walked over to this small shop. It looks old, but give you a nostalgic feeling like how donut shops should be. Everything seemed fairly priced on the menus but I didn't see the price for the juices. I purchased a carrot orange juice and one twisted glaze donut and it came out to be $8. Yikes, but given this economy, I couldn't be that surprised. The juice was ok, and I know it's based on the season. The donut was super soft and I enjoyed it with my carrot orange juice! A lot of foot traffic through this little shop which was really nice to see. I probably would come back the next time I drop off my car for another car wash but it's not a place I would try to go out of my way to come to. Moved into the neighborood during the pandemic when everything was closed so I somehow forgot there's a donut shop that opens at dawn within walking distance. I went in with low hopes at 6AM and was surprised to see 5 people in there having donuts and coffee, a gleaming space that smelled like fresh coffee and yummy baked things. The rasberry donut I got has to be one of the best donuts I have eaten. It was warm and doughy with a fresh fruity tart filling and the coffee was fresh brewed and strong. The guy who works here is also super nice. The place is clean, and feels like a local spot that isn't a chain, which is great. This was no chain store donut! Support KC Donuts in San Gabriel...also perfect for people who wake up early and want something delicious. I usually come here for fresh squeezed orange juice. The last few times I have come, I noticed they are squeezing the juice in advance and leaving it in the fridge. Because of this the juice tastes bitter after sitting for so long. I don't like bitter OJ!!!! It needs to be squeezed fresh or i can't be sitting in the fridge for more than a couple hours. Sitting here enjoying a wonderful pound cake and coffee. Very quiet and nice cafe. Clean, and aromatic. The worker was amazing and allowed me to stay a little after closing as I was waiting for an appointment at the beauty clinic behind the cafe. I will definitely be coming back here. Walked in a little hungry after a stroll at the park. Was greeted and helped by a younger lady. She was very helpful and nice so we decided to purchase a dozen mixed donuts. There was a good variety of donuts, smoothies, shakes to choose from. I am a donut lover so I only came for one thing. Got mostly sprinkled, coconut, chocolate, mapled and glazed. We thought their orange icing donut was strawberry and she said she could make it for us. Takes special requests too! She threw in donut holes and a banana free of charge. Love, love, lovvvve coming to this donut shop in the morning. They make these special whip cream donuts that sale out pretty quickly. They take chocolate bars and cut them right in the middle to fill them up with delicious whip cream. They also take donut holes and fill them up with whip cream as well. These are just sooooo tasty that I like to make a pit stop here on my way to work. These donuts are the ultimate breakfast of champions. They do sell other assorted donuts and they taste awesome as well but I want that next level donut for my breakfast. I had heard a lot of good things about this place and I was really craving donuts one day and I decided to finally stop by! There is a tiny parking lot on the left side of the store, but there is also some 20 minute parking in front of the store itself. When I first walked in I was immediately welcomed by one of the workers. She was so nice and friendly and really made me feel at home. This is very unusual for a donut shop, but I loved it! I got a few classics: Chocolate cake, sugar, glazed, and a Boston cream bar. My favorite donut of all time is the chocolate glazed cake with sprinkles and I think this place has ruined donuts for me. The cake was so fluffy when I first bit into it. Usually cake donuts have a sort of crunchy outer layer, but not this one! It was so moist and cakey I have never had a donut like this before. The same goes for the rest of the donuts! The freshness of the donuts amazed me. I didn't go first thing in the morning either. When I went it was around 1pm. I cant even imagine how the donuts taste in the morning when they are freshly made. Overall, delicious donuts, friendly staff, and fair prices.
