    Ham & cheese croissant
    Claribel V.

The quality of their donuts has definitely improved. Over my last few visits, the donuts have been fresh, chewy, and really good. I usually go for the chocolate bar or the chocolate twist, along with a glazed twist, and they've all been consistently solid. I still get the ham and cheese croissant here too. It's always good and very filling. I recently tried the ham, bacon, and egg bagel sandwich on everything bagel for the first time. It was tasty, but honestly a bit overpriced for what you get, so I probably wouldn't order it again. Customer service has always been good. I've never had a bad experience here.

[ Food/Drinks ] Their donuts are really yummy and soft. They even had Dodgers donuts during the postseason, so I had to get it for my coworkers. I've also had their sausage, egg, cheese croissant sandwich and their El Burrito, both were delicious! For drinks, I've tried their matcha, thai tea with boba, and milk tea; they're all decent for a donut shop, I'd probably get the thai tea again, but without the boba. [ Service ] Customer service is amazing every time, everyone is really nice, even when they are super busy in the morning. There's 3 or 4 tables inside, but it's usually taken in the AM. [ Parking ] They have a decent parking lot, there's always space available when I go early in the morning.

Doughnuts were good. They had a lot of variety. I came on Thanksgiving and it was really busy. Service was quick with friendly staff.

This is my favorite donut shop. The customer service from the staff is always the best. The donuts are great but you definitely have to try their sandwiches. They have a variety of sandwiches including Vietnamese subs and American style subs. Their breakfast and iced coffees are also delicious so I could literally eat here all day.

I haven't updated my review of Pronto Donuts in a while. We ordered some sandwiches there on the weekend. Their menu is not only inclusive of donuts but also features a variety of options, including subs, burgers, sandwiches, pastries, and smoothies. We ordered sausage, egg & cheese croissant, fish burger, ham, egg & cheese croissants, and two orders of fries, one fresh orange juice, pineapple & coconut smoothie, etc. I liked my sausage, egg & cheese croissant. The size was big and it was delicious. My mom also liked her fish burger; it was different than the Filet-O-Fish at McDonald's. The fish was not fried, but it was grilled. The drinks were also refreshing, and I highly recommend the pineapple & coconut smoothie. Their interior is outdated, and the chairs are old, but their food is pretty good, and the price is very reasonable. P.S. They have grilled pork rice and grilled chicken rice on weekdays for only $9.99 each. I wanna try it next time.

What We Ordered: -Breakfast Burrito -Croissant Ham and Cheese One of my coworkers brought in a breakfast burrito and ham and cheese croissants. I've been here before to get some donuts for my son's teachers. It was nice to be able to try some other things from Pronto. I gotta say that the breakfast burrito was pretty good. I never had a fried egg in a breakfast burrito before. That was unique! It was pretty decent nevertheless! They have a spicy hot sauce! It was addicting and had a nice bite to it. I have a pretty high tolerance for spice, but this sauce had definite bite - beware haha! The Ham and Cheese Croissant was also pretty good. It was nice and cheesy. The Croissant was nice and soft, but flakey at the same time. I would definitely come back for either one. I especially like this hot sauce. Yum!

Your little friendly neighborhood donut shop! I used to see old men gathering at this place drinking coffee; I didnt see them today, but I always take that as a sign of good food/coffee. So in I went to get their iced coffee (it's Vietnamese coffee) and it was good! Not as strong as some that I've had, but good enough to kick your energy up. They also have other boba drinks, if coffee ain't your thing.

    Lotsa wonderful fresh donuts

Prontos has been around as long as I can remember. The donuts always taste great and the variety incorporates the standard styles as well as specialties like blueberry, strawberries and cream, tiger tails, and coconut cream. The blueberry which comes both in glazed and unglazed are some of our favorites. The tiger tail is a little extra crispy, super sugary, and take note that it's so long that it comes in a submarine sandwich sleeve. Honestly, I don't think we've ever had a subpar donut here. Our whole family loves not only their donuts but their sandwiches and burgers. They're fantastic for catering donuts or lunches for large groups as well and I highly recommend the breakfast croissants.

    Sugar Twist

The best sugar twists in town for me. Don't live in SGV anymore but had to stop and pick up a few. Don't sleep on their sandwiches either, really filling and flavorful with the spicy pepper sauce they give with them

Amazing! The service was amazing, and the donuts? Oh god, just amazing! The shop gives off an old school vibe, just amazing. The donuts were light, and airy, and had just enough of that donut-ey feeling. 10/10 experience!

You can phone in an order if you don't want to wait too long for large orders however, they are quick! Their donuts are great. If you're grabbing a lot, they're still good over night. They're not stale one bit and had a great texture, they stayed slightly crisp and wasn't soggy one bit. Sausage, Egg and Cheese Bagel- was great. Had 2 slices of sausages, bagel was firm but fluffy. They gave us chili oil that added the perfect amount of spice, savory and depth. El Burrito- had egg, cheese, sausage and hash brown. Much lighter than having it on a bagel. Both are great. They also give you a chili oil with this. Chicken Sub- baguette bread was light and airy. Chicken wasn't dry at all. Pickled veggies added the perfect texture. Strawberry Matcha- wasn't too sweet and the strawberries added a freshness to the matcha. Pineapple Coconut Smoothie- tastes like a Dole Whip! Came with a cute bear ears lid.

Just a plain coffee with cream and Splenda. It was decent. Didn't want to try their fancy stuff.

I'm from out of town and I was looking for a quick cup of coffee and a bite. I was going to go to the trendy coffee place across the street but saw Pronto Donuts instead. I was feeling a classic sausage egg and cheese croissant and it didn't not disappoint. It was so good and they gave me a cup of some Chili oil paste and man was it good and spicy! I'm glad I made the choice to stop by here instead. Gave me that nostalgia I didn't know I needed. Support your local mom and pop donut shop!

However, I went for a second time yesterday and was deeply disappointed. The owner wasn't there and instead a younger girl took my order and prepared the food. Everything seemed well and fine until I got home, opened my patty melt and found not 1 but 2 long hairs in my sandwich! They were clearly her hairs since she was the only one who handled my food. I went back and returned everything. I didn't see a hair in my other sandwich but couldn't even eat it without thinking what could be in each bite. The same girl was there when I returned and a young guy. I spoke with the guy and he gave me a refund right away and apologized. The girl who had made my food was maybe 5 feet away and couldn't even turn around to look at me or apologize. Very disappointing since the owner seemed like a nice guy who probably works extremely hard to build and maintain his business, only to have it ruined by some employee who couldn't even care enough to take 5 sec to put on a hair net. Shame on her.

So it's quite the coup that I finally made it on over to the Heights DABS! A slice of that 18 inch pie is on the brain today as I skip up the mini-staircase into the joint. Having just come from another not-to-be-named Pizza spot in the DTLA to NELA corridor, my hangdog face belies my energetic hoppin-pep-in-the-step into Heights, shaking off a droopy and disappointingly dry slice amidst the brain-bleeding profanity laced hate-punk screaming over that joint's speakers as I sized up the Margherita I always use as an avatar to benchmark how we dooooin' in the pizza quality and taste department no matter where I go. I confess I've been captured and SPOILED by love affairs with Greek Pizza in Boston, Deep Dish in Chicago, NYC greezy gooey goodness at 3am, and of course the ultimate seduction of sublime simplicity of the Neapolitan Pizzas of Napoli. Yes, I am a sucker for the traditional brick oven Margheritas and Bufalinas of Italia, just that simple barometer of OG greatness, minimalistic bliss. Less than 5 bucks and 10 min later, I'm ambling down said teeny stairs with a large warm white cardboard box that seems far too large for a mere SLICE. Have they made a packaging error? I was expecting a small thin wilty Dixie plate! These days, we don't wanna waste cardboard, do we? Driving off, I contemplate a spot to pull over along the Arroyo Seco to enjoy my dining behind the wheel. I just can't hold in my wondering, patience is definitely NOT a virtue when curiosity is just killing this Jazz Cat. A quick stop at a red light later, I can't hold it in any longer. FLIP. UP. THAT. LID! Daaaaaaammmnnnn! That is one MONSTROUS slice, as I slyly smile in astonishment! But my sly smile slowly segues to sadness, then semi-panicked confusion, disorientation, even! For THIS is not the Margherita one familiarly recognizes as the artistic minimalistic masterpiece a proper Neapolitan Margherita MUST BE! I am starting to get anxious, angsty, and now a bit ANGRY! what a fool I was! Instead I am misled into chow down mode to consume a Godzilla-sized molten mess of mossy dry basil haphazardly strewn about to and fro across the pie, resembling katsuo bonito flakes dancing around in the disarray of their differential dehydration! Inexplicably, jagged rows of somewhat square Roma tomatoes are lined up in lazy formations like a disorganized military company. What's more, the gooey globs of mozzarella are NOT expertly anchored down to the bed of cheese below, supposed to cling to the pie while providing just enough protruding relief like an old globe map with a mountain range rising above the horizon. Nope, they are instead here and there and almost everywhere, seemingly untethered to the matrix of cheese below, chaotically floating around like slightly rectangular glops of pale possible goodness?!!? JT, hold it together, you must attack this mess while it's still hot. Beep Beep! THE LIGHT HAS TURNED GREEN MANY SECONDS AGO! Get thee to the Arroyo! Minutes later, I'm at my perch. I bite into the unruly beast. I am pleasantly greeted by a most satisfying CRUNCH! Then a chewy tug-tremendous! Then the mass of basil flakiness flying through my mouth and down the hatch, chased by those deeeelish misshapen untethered white cubes o' cheesiness charging down my throat aside tons of tumbling tomatoes! It's an absolute avalanche of WOW! It's like there's a party in my mouth, and the most unlikely heroes showed up and showed out! Let's add the Unconventional Neapolitanical Pizzas of Lincoln Heights to the Lovefest List! Heights DABS, you've made my day. On to meet up with long lost friends converging in HP from nearby points dearly loved, I'm feelin' GRRRREEEEAT! DONE.

I've had Ba Le throughout the years and have enjoyed it. The shop has been opened for quite so many…read moreyears, and they are still offering Buy 5 sandwiches, get 1 free. My last visit was in March 2026 at around noon. I ordered the following: (prices as of March 2026) BBQ Pork Banh Mi $7.50 - Delicious and flavorful! I just wished they put slightly more pickeled daikon and carrots. The bread had a nice crunch and the flavors complemented each other. - I've also previously ordered the Ba Le Special - Dac Biet $8, which comes with pork loaf, ham, head cheese, pate, soy sauce, and mayo. Still the best! You can also add extra protien, deli slices, fried eggs, and pate for an additional fee according to their menu. Jackfruit Smoothie $6.50 for the husband Parking: Located in a lot that can get busy, but I haven't had trouble finding a spot! Cash Only - so make sure to bring some cash! All in all, I'll be back!

I've been a big fan of Menocino Farms ever since I tried them in Marina del Rey many moons ago…read more Lots of healthy food options and I usually gravitate to a favorite salad and a favorite sandwich so it comes down to what I'm in the mood for until those items get removed from the menu. Right now, my favorites are the Thai Mango salad and Chimichurri Steak & Bacon sandwich. But, I really miss the Sophisticated Chicken and Prosciutto salad and hope it can come back on the menu. And... include the Mama Chen's Chinese Chicken Salad while they're at it.

Got the Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada ($16.20) and I have to admit I was hesitant to spend…read morethat much on a salad! However, it's one of their most popular items so I had to try it! It consisted of lettuce, avocado, corn, black beans, jicama, tomatoes, onion, quinoa, krispies, kale, cilantro, and cotija. The lettuce wasn't too fresh and there were some that were yellow green but not a big deal. It was packed with flavor even without the chipotle vinaigrette (relieved I got it on the side because I wasn't s big fan). The avocado was very fresh and plentiful. I added chicken for extra $4.74 and it was very tender! Overall, I enjoyed the salad but a bit pricey so it was a good one time experience! The Chicken Pesto Caprese ($14.10) was pretty good. It consisted of chicken, mozzarella, red peppers, pesto, and mixed greens. The greens were very fresh and the sandwich was packed with flavor. The chicken was a little dry but not a big deal. There was a lot of red pepper and it was a bit overwhelming so I wished there wasn't so much. Really enjoyed the pesto since it it wasn't too salty and was the cherry on top to the sandwich! I also really liked that the bread was soft and fresh. Got the "Not so Fried" Chicken Sandwich ($13.68) - 1/2 portion and it came with a side (paid extra $1.26) for tomato basil soup. It consisted of chicken, krispies, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, onions, and herb aioli. The bread was very fresh and soft. I'm glad I got this in half portion because I thought this was just ok and nothing special. The tomato basil soup was very oily and salty so wasn't too enjoyable. The Pomegranate Mint Lemonade ($5.10) was sooo sweet. It was refreshing but the mint was a little too overpowering. Definitely recommend adding ice and/or water otherwise it's way too sweet! Overall, the sandwich and salads were a bit pricey but definitely one of the better spots for sandwiches and salads in terms of quality and quantity!
