He says he lost his home, his phone, and he won't answer phone calls. But he still emailing me, so what's really going on? Said he can't return the money because he already spent it. I'm now going to have to file a lawsuit against him if he doesn't refund me for services not rendered. I was able to find another moving company same day for half of the charge. Astonishingly bad business practices. And that's sad because he's actually a nice guy.

I was, however, unhappy about the quoting accuracy. When we started the project we were quote 6 men, two trucks, 10 hours at $300 per hour. So essentially $3000 estimated. Granted, our move was complicated by multiple factors. We were doing two households, my condo and my daughters townhouse over 3 days. They sent the six men on a Monday and were completely done loading my condo and 95% of my daughters townhome in 5 hours. Great! Everyone said that unloading always goes faster. The last part of my daughters townhome couldn't be done until Wednesday so everything stayed on the truck Monday and Tuesday night. This is where the first misquote came from. When interviewing Frederick Moving I asked what would be the cost of the trucks for storing overnight expecting a large charge. Rosemarie said minimal-$100. It actually turned out to be $100 per truck per night totalling $400! This was NOT disclosed during quoting. The final pickup at my daughters townhome was done in 1/2 hour but we could not move in until the closing on the new property was completed 3 hours later. Trying to mitigate the cost of 6 men at $300 per hour sitting and waiting for 3 hours ($900) I asked if they could send one truck in the morning with a couple of guys and have the other truck follow later. Bob, the owner, said no but that he would reduce the number of guys and drop the hourly to $250/hr and only send 5 guys. What he actually did was drop it to 4 guys at $215 per hour. These poor guys worked their butts off but it took 8 hours to unload the trucks! This resulted in a bill of $4480 not the original $3000 quoted. Again, the guys were great but overworked. It was the quoting that I had a complaint with and Bob did not see it the way I saw it as explained above. Thus the 3 star rating for increasing my cost by 50%. If you use them, make sure you tie it all out in writing. Again, the guys who moved us were great

I just completed my move from WV to MD with Ramar and I could not have been happier. From the…read morebeginning their rep, Eric was helpful, knowledgable and could not have been nicer to work with. He followed up with an estimate quickly and even suggested that I pick up some used moving boxes to help out. I love that they offer used/recycled moving boxes. On the day of the move a crew of five men arrived and they could not have been nicer. It took all day to load the two truck and they worked very hard, were careful with all of my furniture and efficiently packed up the two trucks that were required for my move. These guys went above and beyond to help make this an easy transition. I closed the following day and my furniture arrived a day later. A different crew arrived and they were just as professional. They were polite, efficient and extremely hard working. I had a huge treadmill that I'd asked them to bring up into a loft. This was a difficult job and they all worked together to get it up there. I can not tell you how much I appreciated all of their effort and attention to detail. Everything arrived safely and quickly. I HIGHLY recommend Ramar movers. From beginning to end everyone involved was professional and did everything they could to help make a very stressful move run smoothy.

They banged up newly painted walls and the furniture was butchered. The company was reckless and unreliable. They dumped furniture in bedrooms with end tables stacked on top of each other. I have never been more disappointed in a company than I have been with this one. They were a costly mistake. Their customer service will give you the runaround. I don't understand the positive reviews. Maybe they have new leadership who has different values. Pease do not make the same costly mistake we made.

So now that our move is 'completed', I see why the low ratings…read more Positives - driver came a day early to do inventory. Saved a ton of time on Monday, day of move. But all digital which we didn't get for days. And you have to esign, but can't see what you are actually signing. Positive - the load and unload crew on both ends, polite. Load side, only two spoke any English, made it super hard. Offload, communications were much better. That was all the positive. Not positive. Estimator way over on boxes they would need for the kitchen. (We paid to have kitchen and artwork packed). So feeling like we lost on that end and paid for nothing. Negative - loading they cut open the bottom of the ONLY wardrobe box we shipped and put a box from the garage in it. What was in said wardrobe? My Army Mess Dress and Dress Uniforms. I am now stuck with a dry cleaning bill of over $500! The drive tells us he doesn't think they would do that, calls them, and they admit they did. $500! (Mess dress uniforms aren't cheap and not cheap to get cleaned) They opened other boxes as well, that's just the most damage. Items that already had tags were placed in other items. Why? Negative - because they took apart EVERYTHING, there was no way to even attempt tag BINGO at delivery. About 75% of the boxes, etc got to the right place. We have been home 2 weeks and are still finding items completely wrong areas of the house. The driver did want to give us a couple of the un-loaders numbers if we needed things moved, again, but so we could pay them again for putting stuff in the house. We haven't been provided a claims form nor survey at this point. And while they were better than our last move, still wouldn't use them again. Of the items they 'took apart', the only ones that are back in one piece are the master bed, dining room table, kitchen table and wheels back on bikes (incorrectly). I know it hard to find solid movers, especially cross-country. But I suggest you look at all you options.
