The crew worked hard moving our furniture from our storage unit to our new home! It was a very hot day and they did a good job!

The Frederick Moving Company workers were excellent. They were very polite and worked extremely hard. I have nothing negative to say about the labor. I was, however, unhappy about the quoting accuracy. When we started the project we were quote 6 men, two trucks, 10 hours at $300 per hour. So essentially $3000 estimated. Granted, our move was complicated by multiple factors. We were doing two households, my condo and my daughters townhouse over 3 days. They sent the six men on a Monday and were completely done loading my condo and 95% of my daughters townhome in 5 hours. Great! Everyone said that unloading always goes faster. The last part of my daughters townhome couldn't be done until Wednesday so everything stayed on the truck Monday and Tuesday night. This is where the first misquote came from. When interviewing Frederick Moving I asked what would be the cost of the trucks for storing overnight expecting a large charge. Rosemarie said minimal-$100. It actually turned out to be $100 per truck per night totalling $400! This was NOT disclosed during quoting. The final pickup at my daughters townhome was done in 1/2 hour but we could not move in until the closing on the new property was completed 3 hours later. Trying to mitigate the cost of 6 men at $300 per hour sitting and waiting for 3 hours ($900) I asked if they could send one truck in the morning with a couple of guys and have the other truck follow later. Bob, the owner, said no but that he would reduce the number of guys and drop the hourly to $250/hr and only send 5 guys. What he actually did was drop it to 4 guys at $215 per hour. These poor guys worked their butts off but it took 8 hours to unload the trucks! This resulted in a bill of $4480 not the original $3000 quoted. Again, the guys were great but overworked. It was the quoting that I had a complaint with and Bob did not see it the way I saw it as explained above. Thus the 3 star rating for increasing my cost by 50%. If you use them, make sure you tie it all out in writing. Again, the guys who moved us were great read more

What a great team! I finally decided I was too old to be moving furniture and Decided to have a company move my heavy stuff and boxes. Four extremely nice guys showed up right on time and in 5 hours performed a local move that would have taken me a week to do. We moved into a house built in 1900, so you can imagine the stairs were narrow and lots of turns, but the guys managed to get the furniture where we requested and didn't even scuff the walls or banisters. Unprofessional furniture movers. Sloppily moved, delicate furniture placed on the bottom of heavy stacks, despite multiple requests not to stack specific items. Pete and Marcus were fantastic! They were meticulous about wrapping and protecting everything of mine. From the minute they arrived until the job was completed they were professional, courteous, and friendly. Used them 3 years ago and were very happy, so we called them again recently for a quick move out one week and back in the next for a floor refinishing. Big mistake. Movers were very slow the first time so I was promised a discount on the move back in. No discount and they caused $2K in damages. Owners refused to accept responsibility since the item that caused the damage "wasn't in my quote". Contacted them before the move back in and they said they could handle it. Got some money (but not all), and now I have to pay for the damages plus the expenses of having to leave my house to have the job redone. Please beware. read more

I've moved twice in 6 months. The difference between my first movers and these guys was amazing. They showed up on time, took great care of everything, did no damage, wrapped everything carefully, and worked hard all day. Bob the owner / manager was there for most of the move, and kept a watchful eye on everything to ensure i was happy with everything. This is an updated review. My first review I raised a few concerns I had about my experience. Rosemarie called me right away after seeing the review and assured me my concerns would be addressed. Rosemarie was fantastic to work with and would highly recommend working with her. However I do think I would prefer a flat rate as opposed to the hourly rate, which I thought was reasonable, because I felt the movers lolly gagged a bit. Hey, these guys are good and reasonable to boot. I took bids from several movers, large and small. It was moderately complicated by the fact that I didn't have a property to move to because I needed to sell my place before I could settle into a new one. Steve suggested that because he didn't have the capacity to store my furniture I should check into renting a storage unit locally. He would move my stuff from my house into storage and if I was satisfied he would be glad to move it to my new home when I was ready. His base price was competitive and Bowman Plains Storage in Frederick had a large unit that would work just fine. He showed up with his truck and 3 helpers and they moved faster and more efficiently than you can imagine. I've lived in 7 states and moved numerous times so I have some idea of how things should go. They took everything that I had ready for them, put it in their truck, drove to the storage unit, packed everything in nicely and were on there way well within the minimum bid time he had given me. I was impressed and he will move me to my new home in a month. read more
