On May 8, 2018 I ordered a 12 cubic yard dumpster from this company for a residential home improvement project. We spoke with the owner of the company on the phone via text message and landline. We asked if they had the aforementioned dumpster available to be delivered on Friday May 11, 2018. The owner stated that he would check on the availability for our request and get right back to us. 8 hours passed without hearing back from the owner of the company before we contacted him back again to check on an update for the availability of the dumpster. The owner stated that he did have a dumpster available for that Friday. We told the owner that we had brick pavers, large rocks, chunks of concrete and deck boards to dispose of from a demo project. The owner stated that he would have the dumpster to our location on Friday morning between 8 and 9 AM. At approximately 9 AM Friday May 11, 2018 the owners son arrived at my residence with the dumpster as requested. This employee was polite and was able to place the dumpster right where I wanted it. The employee asked me if I was familiar with what can and can't go in the dumpster. I told him that I had in fact read the entire FAQ page of their website and understood that I could not place the following into the dumpster: (copied and pasted directly from the website) What items cannot go in the dumpsters? The following items are NOT permitted to be dumped *No flammables, propane tanks, fuels, etc. *No oils or other lubricants including motor oil, transmission oil, etc. *No oil filters *No hazardous materials of any kind *No rubber tires *No aerosol cans or chemicals, including pesticides, spray paint, etc. *No vehicle batteries I told the employee that I had brick pavers, large rocks, chunks of concrete and deck boards to dispose of. I told him that approximately 1/3 of the load would be the brick, rock and concrete with the remaining 2/3 being the deck boards. At this time, I pointed out the mentioned refuse to the employee that was laying in my back yard. The employee stated "ok, yup that's no problem." The employee placed the dumpster and I paid him $299. The employee handed me a receipt for the transaction and told us to call when we are ready for them to pick the dumpster up before going on his way. On Monday morning May 14, 2018, we contacted the owner of the company to let him know that we have filled the dumpster and it was ready for them to pick up. The owner stated that his son would be by in the afternoon to pick the dumpster up. At approximately 3 PM on Monday May 14, 2018 the owners son arrived, covered the dumpster with a tarp, loaded the dumpster on the back of his truck and drove away with it. There was no contact made with anyone at my house when he picked the dumpster up, nor did I feel like there was a reason to be contacted unless there was some issue. On Tuesday May 15, 2018 at 8:01 AM, the owner of the company sent my wife a text message to her cell phone stating that our "load" was 4,920 pounds over the limit and that we owed $246.00. The owner of the company, along with his son, met with my wife at our residence approximately 30 minutes later. The owner stated "you guys had brick and concrete in there" "I didn't know you were going to have that." "You said that you had some stuff to throw away from your basement." "You can't have bricks and concrete in there." "We have special dumpsters for that that would have saved you money." The owner clearly had us confused with another customer as he was reminded that we told him EXACTLEY what we were putting in the dumpster and that I AGAIN told his son EXACTLEY what I was putting in there and even pointed to it for him. He was reminded again that the response I got was "ok, yup that's no problem." The owner then stated "well, it says on our FAQ portion of our website that those items are not allowed and that there were other dumpsters available for this." The owner was again assured that nowhere does it state on their website that you can't dispose of brick or concrete. The above list of items that can't be dumped were cut and pasted above directly from the company website. Nor, does it mention "special dumpsters" for brick and concrete. The owner then stated "Oh, it doesn't?" "Well, we will have to change that then." My wife provided the owner with a check for $246. The owner and his son took the check and left without providing any receipt for our payment and/or documentation from the dump from our load. Be very careful if you choose to do business with this company. The owner clearly can't keep track of conversations with individual customers. We have no issue with paying for going over the weight limit. We were not offered another dumpster that was specifically for our load that would of saved us money after we told him EXACTLY what we had. The man has no idea what his website says and won't provide us with the documentation or receipt. read more
