This is a wonderful place in this community that serves two meals every day (that's 365) to the low income and homeless in the Frederick area. Please don't hesitate to donate money, goods or time. It won't be wasted...! read more

The Beacon House Changes Lives for the Better! If you've never been down on your luck, I mean hit rock bottom you have no idea how valuable real, uncondtional love is and what it can do for your spirits. During the real estate boom, donations kept up with the need. That is no longer the case, you never know, you might be the one getting evicted next year or next month. The Beacon House needs canned foods, perishables, winter clothes, shoes, furniture, even cash. The number of addict who's lives have been permanently turned around who stayed at the Beacon House dwarfs what ever rehab track record any where in the area. Donate as much and as often as you can. It might be you in need next year. read more

I just had to second Judy. Looking for a place to donate? Well this is the place. Just give. Don't live close enough to drop off. Call to make a monetary donation. They truly support the community! So, I got to check out the grounds around the main building before the bride and groom arrived for rehearsal. They have a wonderful wandering Garden with Fountains and water features. I mostly shop for clothes and they have a great shoe section and a well organized bag section. There are no changing rooms here. The bathrooms were clean and nice but you do have to walk through a staff area to get to them. I found some really great pieces here! Some Value Village tips- think carefully about which day to come. Mondays and Thursdays have 25% off sales but they are busy. Weekends are busy too. You can always get a 20% off coupon if you donate. Also, since there are no changing rooms wear something close fitting so you can try on clothes over what you're wearing.
