Perfect Pitch Piano Company - Empty piano board awaiting return of keyboard taken by Brandon Lewis.

I do not recommend Brandon. When I asked his price, He did not give me a price over the phone. Instead, hearing my player piano play over the phone while we talked, he said, "It sounds like you might need a bigger service - that would be for $385." I didn't agree with that diagnosis but I allowed him to come for that price to get my tuning done .- knowing he was $200 over the average price. The only price he quoted to me was the $385 without mentioning any other service. He came , sat down and did his thing without any commentary about my piano. After two hours he was finished and I I gave him my card for payment. However, he appears to be frustrated that the card did not process quickly and he left with my understanding that a receipt. would come in shortly which didn't happen. When I got my credit card statement, I saw he had charged me $709. without giving me a receipt at the time - saying his phone was too slow at processing it and he left. I protested the charge with Citi but he fought it with a bogus invoice or receipt that had my name at the top that he sent as his document, But... it had never been presented to me. He had never given that information to me. or explained anything about my piano. He just did his thing and took my card for payment but never showed me a balance because he said he couldn't get it finalized. I never got an invoice or receipt. This copy from Citi was the first I had seen of his prices - he had only quoted oe price to me verbally and I accepted that as his only price to come oit. I never agreed to a bigger service but maybe he didn't want to undertand that. I did accept the amount of $385 as it was the only price he had given me for my service. That was my complaint and the issue of my case. He then made up a bogus document that looked ;ike a receipt with my name at the top showing his charges and sent it to Citi. - forms documentation but it never was sent to me. The was the complaint. I never authorized the" bigger service" and never wanted or requested anything but a simple tuning. and he never made any comments as I expected about my piano. when he just did his own thing at the piano, About a week after he left., it was noticed that the tuning was not in tune. I reported it to him and he said sometimes it can change. I then had another technician come out and check it and they confirmed that it was not in tune. IT WAS NOT IN TUNE. He returned for his flashlight he had forgotten and HE TESTED THE TUNING, and confirmed that it was off. HE DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY OR SUPPLIES TO FIX IT, SO.. I agreed TO GO WITH HIM AND PAID THE $40 for the supplies he needed to fix it. The issue is that he is unprofessional and untrustworthy. I wanted the amount of the overage he charge reversed. I also felt that he took advantage of me - an 80 year old woman - to upsell me on a service that I did not understand and he never tried to explain to me or demonstrate a need for. Yet he charged my card for three services - one that was never mentioned, which totaled $324.00 over and above the amount I had authorized to be charged. He was angry when I disputed the $324 extra charge and threatened me because of it .

TL;DR: Paid $1,450 for piano repairs, got ghosted for nearly two months, and only got my piano back…read moreafter involving the police. I'm writing this review to warn others about a deeply troubling experience with Brandon Lewis, owner of Perfect Pitch Piano. After years of routine piano tuning without issue, I hired Brandon in April 2025 to refurbish the keyboard action of our Boston Grand Piano. He quoted $1,450 for the job, took the keyboard to his workshop, and accepted a deposit. Brandon picked up the piano action on May 12, 2025, and promised to return it by May 16. What followed was a string of missed appointments, broken promises, and excuses ranging from medical issues to weather delays. Despite paying the full balance, the refurbished keyboard was never returned. Communication became sporadic and evasive, and attempts to resolve the issue were met with silence or further delays. After weeks of trying to recover the keyboard, I had no choice but to file a police report. In researching Brandon further, I discovered multiple prior reviews from other customers describing similar fraudulent behavior. I strongly recommend reviewing recent feedback from other clients on his Yelp page, where similar complaints--including one involving a Steinway piano action--suggest a troubling pattern, not an isolated incident. The detective assigned to the case attempted to contact Brandon multiple times using all the phone numbers on file, but received no response. It wasn't until the detective left a message stating that charges would be pressed and an arrest warrant issued that Brandon finally returned the call. After much back and forth, Brandon agreed to return the piano action. He claimed he had been hospitalized, that his phone was stolen, and that Apple took an extended time to restore his credentials--hence his lack of communication. Ultimately, Brandon returned the piano action on July 7, 2025--nearly two months after the original promised delivery date. Please do your due diligence and consider alternative providers. What began as a routine service turned into a time consuming and frustrating ordeal.

Steinway Hall - Plano - My beautiful new Steinway Model B grand piano from Steinway's Sterling Silver Special Collection, purchased at Steinway Hall Plano

I'm very particular with what I'm looking for when it comes to the exact sound and touch in a piano, and I spent years searching for the perfect (for me) Steinway B, having tried out dozens and dozens of pianos in the process across many different locations. (As you may know, each Steinway is handcrafted and uniquely different in tone color and individual qualities.) Otis patiently helped me throughout the years during my search for my piano, offered his valuable advice during my selection and shopping process, and accompanied me many times to check out new inventory and pianos that came in at the Steinway Hall Plano and Dallas locations. When I couldn't come by in person, Otis recorded clips of himself playing various repertoire on different pianos that came in on various occasions, and he patiently answered all of my numerous questions each time. (On a side note, Otis is also a terrific pianist and has the widest repertoire on hand out of anyone I know. No matter what style of music you like, I guarantee Otis will be able to demo pianos for you, so that you can properly experience each piano's sound as a listener from a distance and not just as the pianist.) Whenever I had technical questions during the selection process regarding what could or couldn't be done with a specific piano's touchweight, note decay, voicing, etc., Otis enlisted the help of Steinway's master technicians, including Steve and Nowell who also offered their expertise and honest advice during my shopping process. Steve (who typically works out of Steinway Hall Dallas) kindly accompanied me to the Fort Worth and Plano Steinway locations to offer his technical advice. At some points earlier in my quest to purchase a Steinway B, I had previously considered purchasing a used piano from third party sellers or dealers other than Steinway, but I ended up deciding to purchase directly from Steinway Hall due to the excellent service I received there from Otis and due to the fact that I knew my piano would be in good technical hands with Steve, Nowell, and the team after my purchase for all future tunings and maintenance. Steve and Nowell are a wealth of knowledge and have prepared the best pianos for many of the world's greatest concert pianists, so you know you are in the best hands with them. Thanks to Otis and team's help, I finally found the perfect piano for me and purchased a brand Steinway Model B grand piano in Sterling Silver (a Special Collection / Limited Edition model) with the exact tone color and qualities that I had been searching for for years. As a pianist, it's been my lifelong dream to own my own Steinway B. This would not have been possible Otis and the Steinway team's help throughout the last few years. After my purchase, I have thus far been very impressed with Steinway's service department. Steinway kindly stored my piano for me for several months prior to delivery while I was waiting for the flooring of my piano room to be installed. Heather from the Service Team has been a real pleasure to work with and made sure to swiftly resolve any small issues that arose post-delivery. Otis personally made sure I was taken care of even after the purchase and kept in close contact with the service team on any questions or issues I had during the pre-delivery prep process and post-delivery, including stopping by my house to inspect the piano and offer his expert opinion on what needed to be done from a technical standpoint after delivery. From the excellent service I've received throughout the process, I knew I had made the right decision to purchase my piano from Steinway Hall directly, since I have not received this level of service from other places I have purchased pianos previously. Be sure to ask for Otis if you decide to buy a Steinway - he is THE BEST and will make sure you are well taken care of both before and after the purchase. You won't regret it!

I'm very disappointed at the Steinway brand, especially the warranty department…read more I purchased a brand new Boston piano from this Plano store a few years ago and 100% regret doing so. Three different tuning technicians (who are NOT employed by Steinway) told me that my brand new piano needs significant repair that should be covered under warranty. The potential "repair" is due to manufacturing defect that the seller intentionally concealed during my purchase. When I contacted the warranty team, all the reply I received is "no we do not repair this because it's a cosmetic issue" and blamed me for causing "environmental" damage to the piano. Mind you I am not stupid, the warranty team knows very well that a repair this magnitude will cost an arm and leg ($105/hour rate in 2018, the estimated hours needed is 8 hours). So they basically do not stand behind their own product. I also attempted to contact the New York headquarter. After waiting for more than a week with no one returning my call, I finally called again and a guy in British accent basically told me I'm foolish in even thinking the repair should be covered. I NEVER received a formal response from the customer service email info@steinway.com. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service! The people working in the DFW location just want to take your money and run. I could not reach anyone in the warranty department on the phone. Otis (the sales rep mentioned in another review) will stop replying your email after you hand over the money. P.S I have proof of everything above, including email correspondence and pictures. I will post them if the company still refuse to repair my piano as of 2022. I'm still within the 10-year warranty period. Feel free to message me for proof.
