More, when it came time to change a string, Minda gave me a lesson. She even let me change a few strings on a harp she was working on. Telling me how to do it, showing me how to do it, then letting me do it but talking me through each step. Finally, doing it on my own but with her watching. Great way of learning. I was able to go home and confidently change the string myself. Five of five stars. And an extra star because she's just so darn nice about it.

He explained to us that when our 1938 Bush & Gerts baby…read moregrand piano was made in Chicago, it was probably tuned to itself rather than starting with the concert pitch frequency. Not only did it need tuning maintenance, but it also needed to be brought up to concert pitch if we were going to have other instruments play with it. (Family members play the clarinet, flute, violin and trumpet). The piano was significantly below concert pitch (flat). He had to adjust every string to bring it up to pitch but did not need to do any repairs to the hammers or felt at this time. It sounds so much better than it did. He said that it will go flat fairly quickly until it has stabilized. He only charged the base tuning price even though he spent quite some on it. We will have him back in 6 months to keep it "Up To Pitch".
